Hi Dr, I hope you one day consider opening in California. Your approach sounds promising and I'm now left in limbo, as I have a consultation for ACell+PRP in a couple weeks in San Francisco. Yes, they're pushing 2 Vials of ACell + PRP over 3 sessions/3 consecutive months. About $2,000 per session. I'm 37 and been taking Propecia for a little over 15 years now. Noticing the acceleration of thinning and receding the last 2 years. It's quite depressing to say the least. Adamantly, it's depressing. At this point, my objective is to slow this down and begin the process of reversal, even if it means ACell+PRP... until this pandemic turns for the better and I can come to NY for Trichostem. Have you considered licensing this to other offices nationally, as a means for further outreach? This community will much appreciate it! Thank you, sir.
Hi Dean T, I can only say that expanding our treatment outside of the East Coast has been more challenging than I initially thought. Yes, 3 sessions of ACell+PRP over 3 months sounds more like the treatment protocol for PRP alone, but you are being charged a premium for the name. While we do prefer to see you for treatment, you can refer to these videos that features a patient in a similar situation to yours who benefitted from the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment after 15 years on finasteride, and another featuring a patient who previously had 5 transplants while on finasteride before he had his treatment: ruclips.net/video/4YowPNRsv6I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/rIlI55F478w/видео.html
Hi Laxman Aarya, Pattern hair loss is a genetic condition hardwired into the DNA, so it's not cured or stopped, but is managed. Finasteride is a DHT-blocker to slow hair thinning, but DHT is not the only factor in managing pattern hair loss. You can refer to this video that shows how we can still get more scalp coverage with the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment, even from long-term users from finasteride, another video on how effectiveness of finasteride varies, and the importance of using finasteride to block DHT in those sensitive to it: ruclips.net/video/4YowPNRsv6I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/fLSB-tE0gco/видео.html ruclips.net/video/AXqUEcY0WE4/видео.html
Hi Doc, I had a quick question regarding Finasteride. I've seen so many different types/brands of Finasteride with different pricing and its confusing me so much. Currently I'm taking 5mg split into 2.5mg every Monday, Wednesday and Friday but I want to go back to taking Finasteride 1mg Daily. I've seen so many brands/types of Finasteride with different packaging, is there a specific type I should NOT take or SPECIFICALLY take. The one I use to take back in 2018 was 'Finasteride Accord (Actavis) priced at £0.65 per tablet. There are other ones cheaper such as 'Mylan / Milpharm' and others cheaper/expensive. Then there's also the branded Propecia which is really expensive. Is there any difference? The Actavis one I used with Minoxidil for 18 months gave me incredible results. The one I'm currently on now is the 5mg split as mentioned (Cipla), not seeing much if any results. Currently 11 months on this. Thanks for your help and support.
Hi Divide, Finasteride is a prescription medication, so you can discuss this with your prescribing doctor. I don't have any preferences for which particular brand of finasteride, as long as you get it from a reputable pharmacy. I do recommend 1mg a day. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Doctor, isn't it funny how so many people who use PRP alone, claim shedding and worsening of hair? I think the ACell is an extremely important component, as you also mention...
Hi Lennox Lewis, I did make a similar video to this one explaining the differences of PRP alone and TrichoStem Hair Regeneration, which you can refer to - ruclips.net/video/vZAGaAssewY/видео.html
Hi Min Joon, Yes, it can if hair has thinned because of pattern hair loss. If the hair wasn't thick in the past before pattern hair loss, then the treatment cannot make hair thicker than it was originally. I hope this clarifies things for you.
@@AmiyaPrasadMD thank u for ur reply dr prasad... I used to have a thick ponytail some time ago but recently due to stress of studies I am experiencing hair loss at a very young age (18 yrs)..... I sometimes get frustrated seeing at my comv. If the scenerio gets worse I will surely visit you once I start earning money I am not bald but I want my thick hairs back.
Will trichostem hair regeneration treatment hair last? I have had many treatments that have helped grow some hair but over time I still lose it all so if I do this treatment will the hair that grows out last??
Hi@@ElitePhysiqueTIKTOK, The benefits of the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment lasts 3-5 years, from only 1-2 treatment sessions. You can refer to these videos about the differences of TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration from PRP alone, and other ACell+PRP treatments: ruclips.net/video/vZAGaAssewY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/9hZRv2NQ7SM/видео.html
Hi Nivedha Eee, Plant stem cells might help with hair growth, but they are not effective in treating pattern hair loss. There is no treatment that can produce new hair follicles because hair follicles are actually individual organs. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Nandu Gopan, Unfortunately, androgenetic alopecia is a genetic condition hardwired into the DNA, so it can't be completely cured or reversed. However, it can be managed to maximize hair thickness and scalp coverage. I made a recent video about it, for your reference - ruclips.net/video/B035EcHqllY/видео.html
Hi k sr, The cost of the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment varies with the extent of treatment needed. Cost of the treatment plan also includes the second booster treatment, if needed in advanced hair loss cases, as well regular follow ups to monitor your progress, either in our offices or through Skype, Facetime or email. At its full cost, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is priced at about half of a single FUT hair transplant, or about a third of an FUE transplant performed in the US. We don't currently offer the treatment in India, but we do have many Indian patients coming to the US for treatment. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.
Hi Vishal Saini, Male pattern hair loss is generally in adults, and finasteride is only prescribed to legal adults, so for men the minimum age I would treat is 18. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi FroggzXX, Many of our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients have already had PRP scalp injections, but were frustrated with minimal results, and/or how often they've needed injection treatment sessions. Having prior PRP does not affect the results of TrichoStem Hair Regeneration. I will be publishing a video in the near future comparing our patients' results with PRP alone, and how their hair thickness and scalp coverage improved after TrichoStem Hair Regeneration. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Vinay Bhardwaj, There are only two proven DHT blockers: finasteride and dutasteride. Dutasteride is FDA-approved for treatment of enlarged prostates, but can be prescribed for male pattern hair loss in off-label use. I hope this clarifies things for you. DHT-blockers slow hair thinning. If you want thicken thinning hair, and stimulate hair growth, you can refer to the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment in the video, which for someone your age and with high DHT-sensitivity, would be done while you continue taking a DHT-blocker. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi zanyar 122334, If you watch the video, you will see it's a scalp injection treatment for thickening thinning hair, and stimulating growth from dormant hair follicles currently not growing hair. It is different from similar scalp injection treatments as it only requires 1-2 treatment sessions, with benefits lasting 3-5 years. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Do I need to take finasteride while having this procedure done or can I just do hair regeneration alone. Because I keep getting side effects from finasteride and was wondering if this is an alternative that I could do to stabilize my hairloss
Hi IBass, If you are in your 20s or 30s with early onset of male pattern hair loss, you have high DHT-sensitivity, and will need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to slow hair thinning. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, but it cannot block DHT-formation. Some men with later onset of pattern hair loss, and less DHT-sensitivity, say who started losing their hair in their 40s or older, may not have to take finasteride with the treatment, but this is decided on a case-by-case basis, and I do still recommend finasteride for these patients for best results, and longer lasting results. I hope this clarifies things for you.
A facility near me does PRP+Acell with 50 mg of Acell. Not to give away how you do things but would you say 50 mg is what you call "A Sprinkle" as you put it, Compared to what you generally need to maximize results?
Hi Jerry Caddie, As explained in the video, our formulation is customized depending on age, gender, age of onset of hair loss, degree of hair loss, and other medications or treatments taken, so we don't use the same amount for everyone. Also, using too much ACell can cause inflammation. If you are going through with treatment, you need to ask your practitioner why they put 50mg for everyone, and what their experience and results are with their treatment. Not to brag, but your practitioner likely tried to replicate our treatment and results since we've been using it on patients since 2011, and no other practice has treated as many patients with it, or are showing as many patient results. I hope this helps you.
Hi Miranda frost, It is stated in the video that only 1-2 treatment sessions are needed to last 3-5 years. You can't really compare the costs to regular PRP because we charge for a treatment plan that includes 1-2 treatments already, and PRP alone charges for cost of each session. Also, you have to calculate the cost of commuting, waiting time, and treatment time for each PRP session over a number of years. You can contact us directly about the cost, and you can refer to this video about the differences of our treatment compared to PRP - ruclips.net/video/vZAGaAssewY/видео.html Our offices are located in the USA in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1446. Hi Dr. Prasad. In 2014, I was prescribed MICROGESTIN FE 1/20 birth control to clear up my acne and stopped taking it in July of 2016 as it caused me terrible hair loss (about 40-45% hair loss) on the top of my head and the hair itself had become very weak. Since stopping the pill, my hair growth has not recovered at all and I have tried nearly every remedy from switching to natural shampoos/hair growth shampoos, serums, oils, PRP treatments, and minoxidil. I have also been taking iron and vitamin D regularly. Is there any advice you can give on how I can recover my hair back? Thank you in advance.
Hi Amy B, Hormonal changes due to use of oral contraceptives should only cause temporary hair shedding, not permanent loss of that much hair for such a long period of time. I would need more information of your medical history, as well as proper examination, and possibly scalp biopsies to determine if you have female pattern hair loss which is a genetic condition, and not one that is triggered by hormonal changes. I hope this helps you.
Hi Bien Ignacio, We don't currently offer the treatment in Australia, but we did have patients from Australia coming to the US for treatment before the pandemic.
Hi JShady7620, Yes, you can schedule a scalp examination in Garden City by calling (516) 742-4636. You can also reach us through www.prasadcosmeticsurgery.com, www.nyhairloss.com, or www.trichostem.com by filling out a contact form, and we will get back to you. I hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Min Joon, No treatment can revive dead hair follicles, but TrichoStem Hair Regeneration can stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, or follicles that are still viable, but currently not growing hair. If hair has not grown in an area of scalp for less than 5 years, the hair follicle may be dormant, and can still grow hair if stimulated for growth. If a hair follicle hasn’t grown hair for more than 5 years, than the follicle is likely dead, and can no longer grow hair, even with treatment. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Joe service, You're welcome! I'm glad you liked the video. I do try to explain what extracellular matrix by ACell is on other videos with its original discovery when used for hair transplant healing, but there isn't always time to show its original effects in tissue regeneration for the US military.
Hi Dr. Prasad! I am 27 years old and have been balding since I was like 15-16ish. My hairloss had progressed rapidly (Norwood 6 or 7) since then. This past Monday, I just had my first hair transplant, for which I chose FUT due to the amount of balding I have. They’ve honestly done a wonderful job (receding temple hairline in order to reach as far back as possible), but I was told on the day of my surgery that I might not have good enough donor hair to have a second surgery to fill in the bald crown. I’ve been shaving my head bald for years in order to prevent anyone seeing this as a bald spot given my age, so this really would not be ideal for me. Would this treatment be a viable option to look at to perhaps increase the health of my donor area to be a good candidate for a second surgery in the future for my crown? By the way, I used to be on finasteride, but had to stop that very quickly haha. Thank you!
Hi Paul V, I along with other ethical hair transplant surgeons don't recommend hair transplants for men under 30 with pattern hair loss. Also, if I treat male patients with high DHT-sensitivity with TrichoStem Hair Regeneration, a DHT-blocker like finasteride or dutasteride is a requirement for treatment. If you have male pattern hair loss starting in your 20s or younger, you are likely highly DHT-sensitive, and need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to control it, and slow hair thinning. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, but it cannot block DHT-formation. You can refer to these videos about the importance of finasteride, how we can go beyond finasteride alone in improving hair coverage, why hair transplants are not advised for men your age, how we can improve previous transplants with our treatment, why treatment is still needed after a hair transplant, and improving the appearance of the donor area: ruclips.net/video/fLSB-tE0gco/видео.html ruclips.net/video/4YowPNRsv6I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/2GkCy-30hFg/видео.html ruclips.net/video/A3huSHGYrFU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/rIlI55F478w/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ciAFTZnKhq8/видео.html
@@AmiyaPrasadMD thank you for these informational videos Dr. Prasad! I’ve been told by many Doctors that getting a hair transplant at an early age isn’t a good idea and I understand that this may have been a mistake, however I’ve suffered a lot throughout the years due to my hair loss. Especially in our culture (I’m also Indian), it’s been hard to live peacefully while shaving my head everyday. I will try and get an appointment with you in the near future, and I hope you’ll be able to help me avoid the need for a second transplant! Thank you again Doctor.
Hi A P, No, extracellular matrix by ACell does not interfere with the immune system. Formulation using extracellular matrix takes a lot of experience as too little won't work, and too much can cause hair shedding. It's actually a local wound healing/ regenerative material rather than a systemic drug. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Doctor, is this available in Montreal, or only in your office in Manhattan? If you remember I had a FUT, great results, in 2016, but I used microneedle too aggressively and hurt recipient hair in a pretty large area it seems (hairline). It seems like your Acell+PRP would be ideal for me?
Hi Lennox Lewis, The treatment can only be done in our offices in Manhattan; Garden City, Long Island; or Vienna, Virginia. The treatment can help you with progressive hair thinning after a transplant, but the extent of microneedling damage needs to be assessed. You can refer to this video about how TrichoStem Hair Regeneration can improve scalp coverage after previous hair transplants - ruclips.net/video/A3huSHGYrFU/видео.html
Hello Doctor, I have grade 5 baldness. Would trichostem help? What is the success percentage for men with grade 5 baldness? I have most of the hair in the last 3-4 years. I guess I would be grade 2-3 before that.
Hi @abhinavakash9903, The treatment can thicken your remaining thinning hair, and stimulate growth from the dormant hair follicles you have left, but it can't save completely miniaturized hair follicles. There are some examples of Norwood 5 patients in the video, for your reference. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Coconut Cream, Generally, dormant hair follicles have not been growing for less than 5 years, and dead hair follicles have not been growing for more than 5 years. With a scalp analysis, dormant and dead hair follicles cannot be distinguished. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment cannot revive dead hair follicles. I hope this clarifies things for you.
I am seeing hair thinning from last few months I went to the dermatologist and he recommended to use the minoxidil, Is it ok to use minoxidil, does it have serious side effects?
Hi Amith Rc , Minoxidil won't thicken your hair, or stop hair loss, but it appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. You will have to use it daily to sustain these effects, but these effects can also decrease with time even if you use it daily. Possible side effects do include scalp irritation. I do think finasteride is more beneficial than minoxidil as it can slow down and stabilize hair thinning, and it can be used long-term more predictably. Despite well publicized side effects, none of my patients have suffered long-term side effects. I've been prescribing it since 1997, and patients who suffered side effects are less than 2%. You can refer to these videos about minoxidil, and how our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients don't need to use it: ruclips.net/video/T5iPdCfZ2Ng/видео.html ruclips.net/video/sv82XSpQfnI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/_ivacVxFULc/видео.html
Hi@@amithrc3026, You're welcome! I haven't found low-level laser therapy to be particularly effective for hair loss. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hello Dr. Prasad. I be been on finastride daily for the last 8 months and have had no side effects beside minor gynocamastia on my right side. Can you tell me an alternative to stop this?! Should I lower dosage of finastride?
Hi z j, Sorry to hear about your problem. Since finasteride is a prescription drug, you should consult your prescribing doctor about this issue. I have no way of assessing the extent of your gynecomastia without a physical examination, but as a cosmetic surgeon, I can treat gynecomastia surgically. I hope this helps you.
Hi Vishal Saini, While the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment is primarily for treating genetic pattern hair loss, we do use it to treat alopecia areata on a case-by-case basis. You can review it on the second patient example of this page - nyhairloss.com/hair-regeneration/acell-prp-case-studies/
What do you think of regenera activa? How is the Acell+ prp different? I didn't see such treatment in Singapore. Hope u can bring this cellular matrix prp to Singapore.
Hi gameysf, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration has been administered to patients successfully since 2011, so we have more patient data and a proven track record than other treatments available in the market. From the results I've seen online of Regenera Activa, I don't see significant benefit over our treatment, but I don't know the treatment protocol, but ours is 1-2 treatment sessions that last 3-5 years. Like the video details, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is customized and formulated for individual hair loss factors like gender, age of onset of hair loss, current age, degree of hair loss, and other hair loss treatments used, so it's not the same ACell+PRP formulation/mix used on everyone. I hope this clarifies things for you.
I would love to try the trichostem hair regeneration but it is not available in Singapore. Plus covid situation in US is so bad right. How much is the price to do in US for one session?
Hi@@gameysf, No hair grafts are extracted for the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment, only a blood draw is done to prepare PRP from your own blood. Sorry, we don't have clinics at the moment aside from our 3 locations in the Eastern United States. Our offices are located in the USA in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1336. Hi james freitas, You likely have high DHT-sensitivity in your scalp. All men have significant level of DHT in their bloodstream, but not all men have a scalp sensitivity to DHT that causes hair thinning. TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is not a DHT-blocker. You can refer to these videos on the importance of finasteride, and how our treatment goes beyond just finasteride alone: ruclips.net/video/fLSB-tE0gco/видео.html ruclips.net/video/4YowPNRsv6I/видео.html

Can you give a $ amount as to how much is the trichoStem cell trearment. It is hard to figure out based on 1/3 of FUE or 1/2 of FUT as they base on number of transplanted hair. I just want to know to plan how much budget i will need since I am from outside US.

Hello Dr. Prasad, I am 19 years old and I am suffering from male pattern baldness. I am from New York and was wondering if there are discounts for Hair Regeneration. I am college student and don’t have too much money but I want to keep my hair 😭. Thank you!
Hi Harash Kumar, Sorry to hear about your problem. If you have male pattern hair loss starting in your 20s or younger, you are likely highly DHT-sensitive, and need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to control it, and slow hair thinning. A DHT-blocker is especially important at your age, and you can start on it without being too costly for you, so I advise you see a doctor for a proper diagnosis, and a prescription for finasteride. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, but it cannot block DHT-formation. I hope this helps you.
Hello sir, am a girl of 19 years and it's has bee 3 years dat I hv my hairloss about 250/300 per day , den d doctor said it's hereditary hairloss and prescribed me to use minoxidi tropical solution bt I hv not seen any improvement till now . Sir I wnt to ask dat if after I getting dis tricho stem treatment , can my hairloss be reduced ?
Hi bijuta Maibam, The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment is for progressive hair thinning due to pattern hair loss, not excessive hair shedding. The most common cause of excessive hair shedding is severe stress is telogen effluvium, which does not require medical treatment for shed hair to grow back. I suggest you see another doctor for a second opinion based on an examination of your scalp. You can refer to these videos on the differences between telogen effluvium and pattern hair loss; and the differences of normal hair shedding from pattern hair loss: ruclips.net/video/wuYmEGj_Wyg/видео.html ruclips.net/video/1B1hz-mTs38/видео.html
I have had 6 PRP treatments using I Stem kits post hair transplant but the recovery is still slow is there anything else I can do post surgery to speed up the results I have not used fInastraide or minxodil post transplant and it’s been 8 months or so after operation. If you could let me know would be appreciated
Hi 52Blue1, You would likely need finasteride after your hair transplant as transplantation does not treat progressive hair thinning at all. However, finasteride doesn't thicken native thinning hair much, if it does at all. I don't administer PRP alone for hair loss, as we our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment featured in the video is only needed once in the first year to thicken thinning hair, and to stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles that are currently not growing hair. The second treatment is done 15-24 months after the first, and benefits can last 3-5 years, but finasteride will also likely be needed to extend effectiveness this long if you are highly DHT-sensitive. You can refer to these videos on how we have helped patients who already had previous hair transplants, and were already on finasteride: ruclips.net/video/rIlI55F478w/видео.html ruclips.net/video/A3huSHGYrFU/видео.html
You're welcome, @@52Blue1! We don't currently offer the treatment in the UK, but we do have many patients from all over the continent coming to the US for treatment. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. Hello, I'm from India and I'm suffering from hair loss from my crown area. I'm boy and my age is 23. I need Ur help what should I do at this age of hair fall.
Hi Ranjan Fitness, Sorry to hear about your problem. If you have male pattern hair loss starting in your 20s or younger, you are likely highly DHT-sensitive, and need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to control it, and slow hair thinning. You should start by seeing a local doctor for a proper diagnosis, and a prescription for finasteride. If you want to stimulate hair growth and thicken thinning hair, look into the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment featured in the video. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Jolas Nicolas, While it can be done, you should be asking your prescribing doctor since dutasteride is a prescription medication. I hope this helps you.

Hi Pratyay Mondal, I can only recommend treatment after diagnosis your cause of hair loss, so an examination is needed before I can recommend specific treatments. I hope this helps you.
Hey doc, ive been with minoxidil treatment for hair loss and i am 25 years now. I took finasteride for ten months and it didn't work for me. I notice a lot of side effects like anxiety, negative thoughts to its max, low sex drive. I Only took 1/4 of one phil wich is what's recommended. I belive it is not the right fit for me due to all the negative it conveyed twoards my health. I still cant achive the look i want, my hair loss is not so agressive but it is been manifested in the front left side of my forehead, it is like a small gap, something little but is noticeable and on the crown area not to the point where i am a bald head but it is something i want to get over with and have the look of a full head of hair. What advice could you give me, Doc. I live here in mexico, specifically in Guadalajara Mexico
Hi Omar Quirarte, Sorry to hear about your problem. You can consider a prescription for dutasteride instead, which can be prescribed for men with tolerance issues with finasteride. A DHT-blocker is still important for someone your age with significant DHT-sensitivity, and early onset of pattern hair loss. While there are some exceptions, I usually do prescribe a DHT-blocker for someone your age even if they have the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment featured in the video. Keep in mind that pattern hair loss is a genetic condition hardwired into the DNA, so it can't be cured, but it can be managed so you have as much hair coverage as possible, for as long as possible. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Rafael Gomez, You are mistaken that hair transplants are permanent because they don't treat progressive hair loss at all, but grafts taken from the true permanent zone may last. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment costs about a third of an FUE performed in the US, and lasts 3-5 years in thickening all native hair that is actively thinning, and stimulating growth from dormant but still viable hair follicles, both of which transplants do not treat. Hi Nicolas Jawhary, No, it does not, so I wouldn't worry about it. Male pattern hair loss is a genetic condition that is managed, not cured. Hi Laxman Aarya, It should have been explained by your transplant surgeon that transplants don't treat progressive hair loss, and they should have also prescribed you finasteride. May I ask how old you were at the time of transplant? Because transplants shouldn't be done in men in their 20s because transplants cannot keep up with aggressive hair loss due to high DHT-sensitivity of men in their 20s, and transplants will not match the hair density of other men in their 20s who do not have pattern hair loss. You can refer to these videos about what to expect after hair transplant, the importance of finasteride in male pattern hair loss, how hair coverage can be improved after transplants, and why transplants are not recommended for men in their 20s: ruclips.net/video/xfuF2Lqx7mk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/fLSB-tE0gco/видео.html ruclips.net/video/A3huSHGYrFU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/2GkCy-30hFg/видео.html
@@AmiyaPrasadMD thank you fr ur reply sir... And my age is 25 and recently my doctor suggested me finistread and ( can i take PRP session) to control hair fall....?
Hi@@laxmanaarya2911, Progressive hair loss for men who had transplants before 30 is particularly problematic. I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. Also, the number of sessions needed does vary, and the longevity of results is unpredictable. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration is a PRP combination treatment where PRP is the activator of the main ingredient extracellular matrix by ACell. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration is a one-time treatment for most patients, and can last up to 5 years and beyond, depending on the aggressiveness of the hair loss pattern. You don't need repeat injections periodically, and many older TrichoStem™Hair Regeneration patients don’t use maintenance drugs like finasteride, but finasteride is a must for our younger male patients with very early and aggressive hair loss due to high DHT-sensitivity as TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration is not a DHT-blocker. PRP injections for hair loss are needed indefinitely. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil completely, or be weaned off it to prevent a sudden hair shed.

Hi Dean T,
I can only say that expanding our treatment outside of the East Coast has been more challenging than I initially thought. Yes, 3 sessions of ACell+PRP over 3 months sounds more like the treatment protocol for PRP alone, but you are being charged a premium for the name. While we do prefer to see you for treatment, you can refer to these videos that features a patient in a similar situation to yours who benefitted from the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment after 15 years on finasteride, and another featuring a patient who previously had 5 transplants while on finasteride before he had his treatment:

Hi Laxman Aarya,
Pattern hair loss is a genetic condition hardwired into the DNA, so it's not cured or stopped, but is managed.
Hi Divide,
Finasteride is a prescription medication, so you can discuss this with your prescribing doctor. I don't have any preferences for which particular brand of finasteride, as long as you get it from a reputable pharmacy. I do recommend 1mg a day. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Sir what is the cost and treatment in available in India
Hi k sr,
The cost of the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment varies with the extent of treatment needed.
What is the minimum age for this treatment
Hi Vishal Saini,
Male pattern hair loss is generally in adults, and finasteride is only prescribed to legal adults, so for men the minimum age I would treat is 18. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Would doing a standard prp treatment prior to getting your method done affect the results?
Hi FroggzXX,
Many of our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients have already had PRP scalp injections, but were frustrated with minimal results, and/or how often they've needed injection treatment sessions.

Hey I had a question
Hello doctor, I am 24 and suffering from male pattern baldness from 4 years. What should I use except finastride to reduce DHT from my scalp?
Hi Vinay Bhardwaj,
There are only two proven DHT blockers: finasteride and dutasteride.
Hello doc i dont quite get it ,is this suppose to be a pill or a procedure that u do to stop male baldness?
Hi zanyar 122334,
If you watch the video, you will see it's a scalp injection treatment for thickening thinning hair, and stimulating growth from dormant hair follicles currently not growing hair.
Hi IBass,
If you are in your 20s or 30s with early onset of male pattern hair loss, you have high DHT-sensitivity, and will need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to slow hair thinning.
Dr what do you think about regenera activa stem cells treatment
A facility near me does PRP+Acell with 50 mg of Acell. Not to give away how you do things but would you say 50 mg is what you call "A Sprinkle" as you put it, Compared to what you generally need to maximize results?
Hi Jerry Caddie,
As explained in the video, our formulation is customized depending on age, gender, age of onset of hair loss, degree of hair loss, and other medications or treatments taken, so we don't use the same amount for everyone.
How often do you have to do this and what is the cost compared to prp?
Hi Miranda frost,
It is stated in the video that only 1-2 treatment sessions are needed to last 3-5 years.
You can't really compare the costs to regular PRP because we charge for a treatment plan that includes 1-2 treatments already, and PRP alone charges for cost of each session. Also, you have to calculate the cost of commuting, waiting time, and treatment time for each PRP session over a number of years. You can contact us directly about the cost, and you can refer to this video about the differences of our treatment compared to PRP - ruclips.net/video/vZAGaAssewY/видео.html

Hi Amy B,
Hormonal changes due to use of oral contraceptives should only cause temporary hair shedding, not permanent loss of that much hair for such a long period of time. I would need more information of your medical history, as well as proper examination, and possibly scalp biopsies to determine if you have female pattern hair loss which is a genetic condition, and not one that is triggered by hormonal changes. I hope this helps you.

Does trichostem work on dead hair follicles???
Hi Min Joon,
No treatment can revive dead hair follicles, but TrichoStem Hair Regeneration can stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, or follicles that are still viable, but currently not growing hair.

@@AmiyaPrasadMD How much is the treatment Dr?
Hi Dr. Thank you!
Hi Paul V,
I along with other ethical hair transplant surgeons don't recommend hair transplants for men under 30 with pattern hair loss.
You can refer to these videos about the importance of finasteride, how we can go beyond finasteride alone in improving hair coverage, why hair transplants are not advised for men your age, how we can improve previous transplants with our treatment, why treatment is still needed after a hair transplant, and improving the appearance of the donor area:

Are there any contraindications to A-cell? Does it interfere with the immune system systemically?
Hi A P,
No, extracellular matrix by ACell does not interfere with the immune system. Formulation using extracellular matrix takes a lot of experience as too little won't work, and too much can cause hair shedding. It's actually a local wound healing/ regenerative material rather than a systemic drug. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Lennox Lewis,
The treatment can only be done in our offices in Manhattan; Garden City, Long Island; or Vienna, Virginia. The treatment can help you with progressive hair thinning after a transplant, but the extent of microneedling damage needs to be assessed. Hello Doctor, I have grade 5 baldness. Would trichostem help? What is the success percentage for men with grade 5 baldness? I have most of the hair in the last 3-4 years. I guess I would be grade 2-3 before that.
Hi @abhinavakash9903,
The treatment can thicken your remaining thinning hair, and stimulate growth from the dormant hair follicles you have left, but it can't save completely miniaturized hair follicles. There are some examples of Norwood 5 patients in the video, for your reference. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi dr, cam all dormant hair grow thicker? Or only some dormant hair
Hi Coconut Cream,
Generally, dormant hair follicles have not been growing for less than 5 years, and dead hair follicles have not been growing for more than 5 years.
Hi Amith Rc
,
Minoxidil won't thicken your hair, or stop hair loss, but it appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head.
You can refer to these videos about minoxidil, and how our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients don't need to use it:

TrichoStem Hair Regeneration has been administered to patients successfully since 2011, so we have more patient data and a proven track record than other treatments available in the market.
Do u need to extract any hair graft? Purely using blood right. Cause the regenera activa needs to extract at least 3-5 grafts.
Maybe after covid ends... I would be keen to go US to do. Or do u hv any clinic in Asia that also has this trichostem hair regeneration
Hi@@gameysf,
No hair grafts are extracted for the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment, only a blood draw is done to prepare PRP from your own blood. DHT blood test level came in at only 22? While still experiencing lost on crown?? What next?
Hi james freitas,
You likely have high DHT-sensitivity in your scalp. All men have significant level of DHT in their bloodstream, but not all men have a scalp sensitivity to DHT that causes hair thinning. TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is not a DHT-blocker. You can refer to these videos on the importance of finasteride, and how our treatment goes beyond just finasteride alone:

Im 20 years old and Ive been having some hair loss for a while on the top of my head Im looking into getting on finasteride but this trichostem hair regeneration things looks interesting are you the only one who does it and if so where are you located?
Hi Jay Jay,
If you have male pattern hair loss starting in your 20s or younger, you are likely highly DHT-sensitive, and need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to control it, and slow hair thinning. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, but it cannot block DHT-formation, so finasteride will likely be part of your treatment plan if you do go with the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment.

Can you give a $ amount as to how much is the trichoStem cell trearment. It is hard to figure out based on 1/3 of FUE or 1/2 of FUT as they base on number of transplanted hair. I just want to know to plan how much budget i will need since I am from outside US.

Hello Dr. Prasad,
I am 19 years old and I am suffering from male pattern baldness. I am from New York and was wondering if there are discounts for Hair Regeneration. I am college student and don’t have too much money but I want to keep my hair 😭. Thank you!
Hi Harash Kumar,
Sorry to hear about your problem.
Hi bijuta Maibam,
The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment is for progressive hair thinning due to pattern hair loss, not excessive hair shedding. The most common cause of excessive hair shedding is severe stress is telogen effluvium, which does not require medical treatment for shed hair to grow back. I suggest you see another doctor for a second opinion based on an examination of your scalp. You can refer to these videos on the differences between telogen effluvium and pattern hair loss; and the differences of normal hair shedding from pattern hair loss:

I have had 6 PRP treatments using I Stem kits post hair transplant but the recovery is still slow is there anything else I can do post surgery to speed up the results I have not used fInastraide or minxodil post transplant and it’s been 8 months or so after operation. If you could let me know would be appreciated
Hi 52Blue1,
You would likely need finasteride after your hair transplant as transplantation does not treat progressive hair thinning at all. You can refer to these videos on how we have helped patients who already had previous hair transplants, and were already on finasteride:

@@AmiyaPrasadMD thanks for your help does anyone offer Trichostem in the UK?
You're welcome, @@52Blue1! We don't currently offer the treatment in the UK, but we do have many patients from all over the continent coming to the US for treatment.

Hi Omar Quirarte,
Sorry to hear about your problem.
@@AmiyaPrasadMD am i candidate to get a hair transplant or will it hurt my native hair area that sourrounds the two areas that i have trouble with?! I mean will it have the shock effect that you talked about in other videos?!
Again. I can just use toppik or those kind of hair products and I will be fine, because it is very little area that needs to be covered, but I dont want that anymore i just want my hair to be there without any of these porducts, I belive you toally understand my issue just so you can get an idea of the degree
Hi@@omarquirarte9035,
Hair transplants are generally not recommended for men under 30, which you can refer to this video about - ruclips.net/video/2GkCy-30hFg/видео.html If you believe it is only needed in a limited area, then I will have to examine your scalp first before I can recommend any treatment. Hi rappy,
You can try minoxidil, but you should be aware of the effects it has on lowering blood pressure, possible scalp irritation, the limitations of the drug, and to temper your expectations as it won't likely restore your hairline. You can refer to this other recent video about minoxidil -

hello Dr, is A CELL + PRP permanent ? like a regular surgical hair transplant ? and to achieve the desired results Which produre tend to be more expenxsive A CELL + PRP vs a REGULAR FUE [ as example ] ??? thank you Dr
Hi Rafael Gomez,
You are mistaken that hair transplants are permanent because they don't treat progressive hair loss at all, but grafts taken from the true permanent zone may last. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment costs about a third of an FUE performed in the US, and lasts 3-5 years in thickening all native hair that is actively thinning, and stimulating growth from dormant but still viable hair follicles, both of which transplants do not treat. You can refer to these videos about the expectations of hair transplants, and how we can go beyond transplants alone with our treatment:

Hi Nicolas Jawhary,
No, it does not, so I wouldn't worry about it. Male pattern hair loss is a genetic condition that is managed, not cured. While finasteride can slow hair thinning, DHT-sensitivity varies in men, so its effects on slowing hair loss also varies between men. You can refer to this video on how finasteride's effects vary depending on DHT-sensitivity - ruclips.net/video/AXqUEcY0WE4/видео.html

While I can make the donor area scar unnoticeable with regenerative healing and cosmetic surgical closure, the donor area does not regenerate hair follicles once the original follicles are harvested for hair transplant surgery. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Laxman Aarya,
It should have been explained by your transplant surgeon that transplants don't treat progressive hair loss, and they should have also prescribed you finasteride. You can refer to these videos about what to expect after hair transplant, the importance of finasteride in male pattern hair loss, how hair coverage can be improved after transplants, and why transplants are not recommended for men in their 20s:

@@AmiyaPrasadMD thank you fr ur reply sir... And my age is 25 and recently my doctor suggested me finistread and ( can i take PRP session) to control hair fall....?
Hi@@laxmanaarya2911,
Progressive hair loss for men who had transplants before 30 is particularly problematic.
