Hi doc I am 16 y/o but now experiencing hair loss and now very noticable in the top part of my scalp, Im from the philippines and want know if this hair regeneration thing is available in my country😊
Hi Ruel Jutba, While the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment needs to be done in one of our offices in the US, you should have the cause of your hair loss diagnosed locally. If you are male, 16 is a bit early to be experiencing pattern hair loss, so you want to have a diagnosis by an experienced doctor as to what they cause may be. I hope this helps you.
Hello, I hope you can give me some information about my case. I'm a female. When I was 16 I had severe stress and my hair fell off really fast. Like in 2 months. In summer I was relaxed so I saw it was growing back again. But then I had several stress again and my hair couldn't grow. Because there was lacking hair, I found a man that did home made exfoliating products made with camphor and other products. They told me to apply it all over my scalp. I applied it and it burnt terribly but I thought my hair would grow so I did it anyways. After the treatment, a lot of my skin in my scalp fell off. In patches. And my hair fell off too. A lot of my hair fell off. Then I discovered a treatment called regenera activa that is like stem cell injections. And it helped me, but I still haven't recovered my hair. I don't know if I have androgenic alopecia or not. But my hair is lacking in the middle of the head. Even though it grew and I see some thicker hairs, overally there's a lot of hair lacking. But I feel my hair doesn't fall at all. My hair falling has decreased significantly. I don't know if it's androgenetic because some doctors told me it probably was but I didn't have any biopsy done or anything. And the doctor that made me the stem cell treatment told me it wasn't androgenic. But other doctors, dermatologists told me it was, just by looking at my scalp. They gave me monoxidil and told me to take hormones. The problem is that I know that if I stop using any of those products my hair will fall off. So I don't know what to do. Can you give me some advice?
Hi Hello World, Sorry to hear about your problem. I would have to examine and diagnose the issues with your scalp personally before making a recommendation. There is a lot of information here, but the main problem is still unclear. I hope this helps you.
Hi during the 60 second hair loss count, is it important to shampoo you hair at night for 3 days then count in the morning? As I washed my hair in the morning yesterday and then this morning did the test and lost 15 hairs
Hi jamiehoughton28, Just because you shed hair, it does not mean you lost hair. It is normal to shed 50-100 hairs a day, and they do grow back. Pattern hair loss is when shed hair grows back progressively thinner, and there is a delay in regrowth. I hope this clarifies things for you.
I find you so handsome, you have amazing cheekbones. I want to say this and please don’t take it the wrong way. Your hairstyle is completely wrong for your handsome face. It’s just emphasizing your more prominent nose. I wish I could get my hands on your hair and give you a style that would totally uplift your face and make you look amazing. I think you’re great and I follow your channel and listen to all of your videos. Much love and respect
Hi Faizan Amla, A proper diagnosis of the cause of your hair loss is needed before specific recommendations can be made, and the diagnosis is also needed for prescription medications. If you can't see us, you need to see a local doctor. I hope this clarifies things for you.
@@AmiyaPrasadMD thanks you so much for reply, and can you tell me what is the process of diagnose should i send you my scalp pictures or you need something else?
Hi@@ultimatefoodzone9577, Diagnosis requires a physical examination, or at least an online video consultation before I can prescribe any treatment or medication. Consultations can be arranged by our offices to be done remotely on a one-on-one video call on Skype or FaceTime. Consultations are by appointment only, and do require a consultation fee, but the fee can be applied to the cost of treatment. Our offices are located in the US in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1336. You can also reach us through www.prasadcosmeticsurgery.com, www.nyhairloss.com, or www.trichostem.com by filling out a contact form, and we will get back to you. I hope to hear from you soon.
Hello doctor. Im hoping to do prp at a clinic. What questions should I ask them so that i can gauge their experience and skill. Im from Europe so unfortunately me coming to the US is impossible. Also what are my probabilities of it prolonging my hair? I can send you pictures of my scalp if it is possible for you to answer.
Hi Zarek the Heretic, I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. Also, the number of sessions needed does vary, and the longevity of results is unpredictable. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration is a PRP combination treatment where PRP is the activator of the main ingredient extracellular matrix by ACell. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration is a one-time treatment for most patients, and can last up to 5 years and beyond, depending on the aggressiveness of the hair loss pattern. You don't need repeat injections periodically, and many older TrichoStem™Hair Regeneration patients don’t use maintenance drugs like finasteride, but finasteride is a must for our younger male patients with very early and aggressive hair loss due to high DHT-sensitivity as TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration is not a DHT-blocker. PRP injections for hair loss are needed indefinitely. Some TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration patients with advanced hair loss get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first which we call the booster, but this is already included in the cost of the treatment plan, so you don’t pay extra for it. TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil completely, or be weaned off it to prevent a sudden hair shed. Hi Anju s , Yes, the treatment can only be done in our offices in the US. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, under normal travel conditions, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.
Hello Dr. Prasad, how much is this trichostem treatment and are payment plans available? I’m 23 with thinning hair and would love to treat it before it gets worse. Thank you.
Hi Nidal Shah, If you have male pattern hair loss starting in your 20s or younger, you are likely highly DHT-sensitive, and need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to control it, and slow hair thinning. The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, but it cannot block DHT-formation. Before considering the treatment, I suggest you see a local doctor about a prescription for finasteride, as you will still need it even if you have our treatment. The cost of the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment varies with the extent of treatment needed. Cost of the treatment plan also includes the second booster treatment, if needed in advanced hair loss cases, as well regular follow ups to monitor your progress, either in our offices or through Skype, FaceTime or email. At its full cost, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is priced at about half of a single FUT hair transplant, or about a third of an FUE transplant performed in the US. You can contact our offices or our websites for a price range. Our offices are located in the US in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1336. Finastaride ( 1 tab a day ) shuts my libido - is there an alternative ? I am considering Tricstem but if Finastaride is a must with it than how would I do it ?
I don't recommend dermarollers in general as the rolling action can unnecessarily stretch the microholes in the skin. Also, the hair growth they stimulate is usually fine, don't grow long, and can't be sustained long-term. I don't find low level laser light therapy effective at treating pattern hair loss, and made a video about it - ruclips.net/video/ozrIq7fO0FM/видео.html
Hi s mahdian, While the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can treat concurrent pattern hair loss to thicken thinning hair, and stimulate hair growth, it cannot treat the autoimmune condition that attacks hair follicles. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Anjali Mohan, Great surgeons can come from different countries, so it's a matter of finding a great surgeon for your particular area of interest, and with knowledge of ethnic differences, such as prevention of scarring in darker skin more prone to keloid scars. Hi Suman Barua, I can't diagnose you based on your short description. I would have to perform a microscopic scalp examination on your scalp to identify thinning hair, and determine if you have pattern hair loss. If you can't see us for a diagnosis and possible treatment, I suggest you see a local doctor for a proper diagnosis. I hope this helps you.

Dr. I am suffering from hair loss for 2 years.hairfall starts because of using non brand hair spray.then I immediately stop using it.but my hair is still shedding.and it has become a pattern hair loss.i am using minoxidill now.and my age is 19.what else should I do??I am at second stage.
Hi shahead karim, Sorry to hear about your problem. Pattern hair loss still needs a proper diagnosis because it gradual hair thinning, not sudden hair shedding. Pattern hair loss is a genetic condition, and is not caused by hair spray or other external factors. Minoxidil delays normal hair shedding, but shedding can increase if you stop using it. You need to see an experienced doctor for a proper diagnosis of your hair loss before you can consider treatment. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Val sala, Forehead reduction surgery can mean reducing the size of the forehead, or a hairline lowering hair transplant to reduce the height of the forehead. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi, i am having hair loss issue from last 1 year. I am 29 yrs old. I am loosing more than 200-300 hair every day and can see most of the hair fall on crown area. I could be genetic as my mom have similar issue but it started for her in late 30s. What can you suggest me. I might go bald by next year with this pattern. Thanks!
Hi swapnali more, Sorry to hear about your problem, but genetic pattern hair loss is progressive hair thinning, not hair shedding. It is normal to shed 50-100 hairs a day, and they do grow back. Pattern hair loss happens when the shed hair grows back thinner, and there is a delay in regrowth. You should be diagnosed with a scalp examination for possible telogen effluvium, which is stress-related hair shedding, but hair does grow back without the need for medication. I hope this helps you.
Hello Doctor. Can hair regeneration be done years after hair transplant? Will preexisting hair (hair that were in Recipient area) grows back after hair transplant?
Hi Rajesh Sitaula, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration can increase scalp coverage in men who are years removed from a surgical hair transplant, but results vary depending on the presence of viable hair follicles and thinning hair still present. You can refer to these videos about it: ruclips.net/video/A3huSHGYrFU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/rIlI55F478w/видео.html

Hi Explo Piano, Sorry to hear about your problem. 15 is very young for pattern hair loss, so an examination and diagnosis of the cause of your hair loss is needed before specific treatments can be recommended. I hope you this helps you.
Hi M G, It has been reported that rosemary oil has a similar effect to minoxidil in stimulating hair growth, but keep in mind that minoxidil does not treat the genetic causes of pattern hair loss, and usually just delays hair shedding so you have more hair on your head. Other than that, there isn't too much information about long-term rosemary oil use for hair growth. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi M G, No, appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. You will have to use it daily to sustain these effects, but these effects can also decrease with time even if you use it daily. Finasteride for male pattern hair loss is more beneficial than minoxidil as it can slow down and stabilize hair thinning, and it can be used long-term more predictably. If you want to reactivate hair follicles for thicker hair growth, and to stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, you can look more closely at the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment featured in the video.
Hi@@MG-tq8rj, Scalp irritation is a possibility, as well as hair shedding if you stop using it. You can refer to these videos on the limits of minoxidil, and why our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients don't need it after our treatment: ruclips.net/video/sv82XSpQfnI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/T5iPdCfZ2Ng/видео.html
@@AmiyaPrasadMD so till 3 or 5 yrs the results of the treatment done on patient will be intact ?.....will the patient doing will get their old natural thickness?
Dr. Prasad. Thank you for your helpful videos. If I am unable to tolerate finasteride or minoxidil, would Trichostem therapy be a viable alternative? I am 40 years old with class 4 Norwood hair loss pattern. Should this treatment be combined with an FUE/FUT procedure or be done as a stand alone procedure? What are your thoughts on exosome therapy? Thank you.
Hi A P, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is most often a standalone procedure. All TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil completely, and some men your age don't use finasteride with it, but this depends on their level of DHT-sensitivity, so I would have to see you in consultation before making finasteride optional for you. You can refer to this video about the different factors of pattern hair loss in men - ruclips.net/video/d0tddJt6OME/видео.html

Hi Sneha Latha, Traction alopecia can cause permanent damage to hair follicles from the constant tension. We only treat patients with traction alopecia and concurrent pattern hair loss as the treatment cannot revive dead hair follicles, or follicles with too much permanent damage from the constant pulling and tension. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Val sala, Yes, it is a fairly extensive surgery, so it does have risks. Risks are discussed during your examination when determining if this is an appropriate surgery for you. I hope this helps you.
Hi@@MG-tq8rj, 1% salicylic acid is available without a prescription, so you can try it. If it's not effective, you should consult a local dermatologist about the issue. i hope this helps you.

Hi Rahul Shekhawat, I generally don't prescribe topical finasteride, and only prescribe the pill form as DHT is in the bloodstream, not just in the scalp. I also don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. Also, the number of sessions needed does vary, and the longevity of results is unpredictable. Hi@@anum3702, The youngest female patient we ever treated was 16, as she showed a similar hair loss pattern to her mother. TrichoStem Hair Regeneration has to be done in one of our offices in the US as each treatment is customized using platelet-rich plasma taken from your own blood, then formulated with extracellular matrix by ACell based on age, age of onset of hair loss, and degree of hair. Confirmation of female pattern hair loss is also needed before treatment. I hope this clarifies things for you.

@@AmiyaPrasadMD my hairloss is not progressive 50 60 hair per day but they come thin after fall it's genetic I am taking finastride how to finastride work lifelong on me ? Dht sensitivity what is meaning
Hi@@ffidsalelowprice6066, First of all, finasteride is a prescription medication, so you should only be taking it with your doctor's prescription. Your prescribing doctor should have given you an indication of how long you're supposed to take it. If you don't have a prescription for finasteride, don't take it. It is normal to shed 50-100 hairs a day, but the hair will grow back. Pattern hair loss happens when those hairs grow back thinner after every shed, there is a delay in regrowth, and the number of regrowth cycles become more limited. Hi Doc Prasad. Today is my 2nd week of post FUT surgery and I want to use minoxidil to make the hairs grow faster and thicker. How long can I use minoxidil after the surgery? I hope you will notice this question 🙏
If I start using the minoxidil, until when can I use it? I am afraid that when I use it on my transplanted hair, then if ever I decide to stop, I am afraid that it will make my hairs shed. Please reply.
Hi Gemmie Nei, Minoxidil may stimulate some fine hair growth, but it's not going to make your hair grow thicker, or significantly faster. Minoxidil appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. You will have to use it daily to sustain these effects, but these effects can also decrease with time even if you use it daily. Since minoxidil delays the hair shedding cycle, and prolongs the hair growth cycle, if you stop using it, you will likely have a significant hair shed. Assuming you are a woman, you can refer to these videos on how we can improve results from previous hair transplants without needing minoxidil, and why our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil after our treatment: ruclips.net/video/A3huSHGYrFU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/T5iPdCfZ2Ng/видео.html

Do you offer treatment in India ? And when we do the hair regeneration treatment then for how many years or time my hairs will be thick .. I know it varies but can you give some idea 💡( in my case hair fall is genetical )
Hi MAYUR PATIL, We don't currently offer the treatment in India, but we do have many Indian patients coming to the US for treatment. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. The benefits of TrichoStem Hair Regeneration can last 3-5 years. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.
I am a woman that is going through menopause, hypo-thyroid and traction alopecia. I am loosing my hair. I don't have enough hair for implants. I am very stressed can you help.
Hi Zee D, Sorry to hear that. You are undergoing several causes of hair loss at the same time, so I would need to physically assess your situation in consultation before I can determine how we can best help you. As I don't treat thyroid-related issues, you may want to see an endocrinologist first, who may also help with issues related to menopause. I hope this helps you.
Hi Dr. I'm interested in your trichostem technique as opposed to a traditional hair transplant. Does this technique involve minimal scarring and how would someone from 🇬🇧 go about seeking such treatment?
Hi Crashy_dude1, There is actually no scarring involved as it's a scalp injection treatment. For patients outside the US, under normal travel conditions, you would have to come to one of our offices in the US, but it is a direct flight for you. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. @@AmiyaPrasadMD Thanks doctor but that doesn't seem very practical. Cost of flights etc. Would you not consider opening clinics up in the UK, I'm sure it would be very profitable for you. As not every one has the means to travel long distance. And now especially with this pandemic the option of jetting off on a whim may not be a reality for months to come.
Hi@@HonestToast, While we have tried to open offices outside the US long before the pandemic, it has proven challenging. For now, the most practical thing for me to continue my service and dedication to patients is to practice medicine close to home. If I were to spend a lot of time traveling, even without the pandemic, I would not have the same availability for my patients. We do have many international patients, which still continues with the pandemic, but more during normal travel conditions. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Aveee Abbasi, As mesotherapy is not practiced in the US, there is a possibility that minoxidil may irritate the scalp as there are open channels from mesotherapy on the scalp. It's important to note that mesotherapy usually consists of vitamin injections, and pattern hair loss is a result of genetics, not nutrition or vitamin deficiencies. You can refer to these videos on the limitations of minoxidil, and how our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil entirely after our injection treatment: ruclips.net/video/sv82XSpQfnI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/T5iPdCfZ2Ng/видео.html
Hi@@aveeeabbasi7787, I don't perform either mesotherapy, or PRP alone for hair loss because PRP alone has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. Hi Dr Prasad, thank you for your very informative videos. I wanted to ask you. If you take Pradaxa 150 mg a day twice a day, would that be an issue to do your PRP treatment? Thank you
Hi Roberto B., I would have to evaluate you prior to treatment to ensure that the procedure would not cause excessive bleeding in your case. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Nani Boda, You can review these videos on how our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment, which does use PRP, with extracellular matrix as the main ingredient, and does stimulate production of your own adult stem cells, can improve results and scalp coverage after previous hair transplants: ruclips.net/video/rIlI55F478w/видео.html ruclips.net/video/A3huSHGYrFU/видео.html
Thank you dear Doctor, I have watched your videos for 2 years now and they have been more than useful to not waste money on fake treatments. I have a question please, I am almost 22 and my hair loss is becoming more aggressive ( I wish I could show you a picture). My dad has also lost his hair, so it’s most likely genetics. My question is if I start to take Finasteride to cure, will I have to take it for life time? Will it have any harms? I’m from Iraq so there’s no way I could reach (due to visa problem). Thanks.
Hi Yad H Amin, Sorry to hear about your problem. Finasteride is not a cure for male pattern hair loss, but it can slow hair thinning. It needs to be taken continually over a lifetime to continually block DHT to slow hair thinning. You can refer to these videos about the importance of finasteride in treating male pattern hair loss, the limits of finasteride alone as a hair loss treatment, and how we can go beyond just finasteride alone in thickening thinning hair and stimulating hair growth from dormant hair follicles: ruclips.net/video/fLSB-tE0gco/видео.html ruclips.net/video/4YowPNRsv6I/видео.html
@@AmiyaPrasadMD thank you for the reply Doctor. I just started taking Finasteride 5 days ago and I notice no side effects yet. Even if it is just slowing the hair loss, I’m willing to take it lifetime because in this rate of hair loss I will go bald in a few years. Unfortunately, I can’t not come to your clinic because of visa problems.
Hi@@yadhamin, You aren't likely to get side effects because they are very rare, at about 2% of patients. I've been prescribing finasteride for over 20 years, and very rarely see side effects in my patients. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Jojo G, Under normal travel circumstances, we do have international patients coming to the US every day for treatment. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.
Hi Esau Ocampo Alegria, Finasteride does require a prescription, and is mainly for slowing hair thinning due to male pattern hair loss. You can take vitamins for hair health and growth, but pattern hair loss is a genetic condition, not a nutritional one. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hello sir, I had a feel of decrease in hair density throughout my scalp especially in frontal region recently.I had enough stress, anxiety and also I'm an overthinking person. Is this had any relation with my hair problem? Or is this genetic? How do i know sir? 🙏
Hi Nandu Gopan, Sorry to hear about your problem. Stress-related hair shedding is called telogen effluvium, but this is a temporary condition, and shed hair grows back without medical intervention. Pattern hair loss is progressive hair thinning, which is caused by genetics. It is possible to have both at the same time. Identifying what you have requires a proper scalp examination by an experienced doctor. You can refer to these videos on how we diagnose and treat female pattern hair loss: ruclips.net/video/2WhELyekG4A/видео.html ruclips.net/video/aTb_Evz1jIM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/eIFL1-mrg0I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/lbngJ1a5GIw/видео.html
Doctor I had a question I’ve been wanting to ask you for a long time I had a hair transplant 2000 grafts for my hairline 4 days later I was called in and sent to boot camp for the Air Force so pretty easy anyways one of the lady’s on day 5 gave us buzz haircuts by any chance did she dislodge or hurt my transplant? I didn’t bleed and it didn’t hurt either. Please write back
Hi P A, First of all, thank you for your service! While the timing of the haircut is too soon after a transplant, it is unlikely that the follicles were harmed as they are very firmly in place this long after transplant surgery. However, if you are under age 30, a transplant should not have been performed on you, which you can refer to this video about - ruclips.net/video/2GkCy-30hFg/видео.html
Hi Gabrielle Gerardo, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration consists of 1-2 treatment sessions that can last 3-5 years, or even more. For advanced hair loss patients who get the second treatment to thicken new, fine hair growth stimulated by the first treatment, the second injection is done 15-24 months after the first. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Anjali Mohan, Hair transplants do not treat progressive hair thinning at all, and it is a highly risky procedure for women with diffuse pattern hair loss. You can refer to this video about why hair transplants are generally not advised for female pattern hair loss - ruclips.net/video/-qqYdDT9jnI/видео.html

Hi Sandip Rathod, Sorry, I'm not familiar with redensyl. Saw palmetto is not a proven DHT-blocker like finasteride or dutasteride, and it's also a supplement, which means the amount of active ingredients are not regulated like drugs. Hey what's your cost range on trichostem hsir regeneration? I feel like I need a boost. I'm.in canada and it's the pandemic so traveling isn't something I can do at the moment. What's the cost frame typically per treatment? Also how often in a year does someone need to undergo this procedure?
Hi Akash Duggal, The cost of the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment varies with the extent of treatment needed. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up. Results from 1-2 treatments last 3-5 years, even more. Finasteride is needed by younger men with high DHT-sensitivity to get maximum benefit and longevity, as the injection treatment does not block DHT. You can contact our offices or our websites for a price range. Our offices are located in the US in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1336. hello beautiful doctor i have a question please can i take different dosage of finastride during the week for example i take half pill of proscar 5mg daily but only one day of the week i take full 5 mg pill does unstable dosage weaken the results i hope u respond🙏🏻 ps: i know we only need 1 mg but its not available in my country
Hi Nicolas Jawhary, I prescribe to my patients a consistent dose of 1mg daily. Since 5mg pills are not designed to be cut, so dosage won't be consistent, I suggest you cut it into 4 for an adequate daily dosage. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi@@nicolasjawhary9945, Yes, but I would still advise you look for 1mg pills for consistency. Since finasteride requires a prescription, you can ask your doctor about where it may be available in 1mg. I hope this helps you.
Hi Rohan Sawant, Finasteride is more beneficial than minoxidil as it can slow down and stabilize hair thinning, and it can be used long-term more predictably. Minoxidil won't thicken your hair, or stop hair loss, but it appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. Since minoxidil delays the hair shedding cycle, and prolongs the hair growth cycle, if you stop using it, you will likely have a significant hair shed. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Angelina _01, Microneedling is too imprecise a treatment for treating millia. I would recommend a laser or radiofrequency procedure instead. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi ! I’m 18 and my hair started thinning a year ago. I was given minoxdil 5% which I use and also finasteride. I know that minoxdil is a temporary fix but I’m not sure if I want to use finasteride not really cause of its sexual side effects but due to lowering the DHT it prevents the development of my sexual organs and my body. I’m only 18 and my body is still growing. Do you believe it is worth using finasteride when im this young and still growing ?
Hi Abby On The Spot, Finasteride is more beneficial than minoxidil as it can slow down and stabilize hair thinning, and it can be used long-term more predictably. Despite well publicized side effects, none of my patients have suffered long-term side effects, and I've been prescribing it since 1997. The listed risk of side effects from finasteride is about 2%, and I've seen less than that in my patients. 18 is the minimum age I would prescribe finasteride as to not hinder physical development. Minoxidil won't thicken your hair, or stop hair loss, but it appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. You will have to use it daily to sustain these effects, but these effects can also decrease with time even if you use it daily. Since minoxidil delays the hair shedding cycle, and prolongs the hair growth cycle, if you stop using it, you will likely have a significant hair shed. You can refer to this video about the factors of treating male pattern hair loss - ruclips.net/video/d0tddJt6OME/видео.html
@@AmiyaPrasadMD thank you. I just watched your hair restoration video. I live in NYC and in early stages of hair loss. I want to ask if I can send a consultation online to see how much it would potentially cost and if it would work for me
Hi@@videocollector22, Finasteride will be need to be taken continually to prevent DHT-formation. Finasteride is a lifetime drug, and I often refuse patients with high DHT-sensitivity who insist on not taking it, or not taking it continually. You can inquire about price range, but a consultation online through Skype or FaceTime does require a consultation fee, which can be applied to the cost of treatment. Our offices are located in Manhattan, which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1336. Hi Val sala, Effects of Botox are temporary, and completely wear off after 6 months. Patients often come back for treatment around 4 months before the effects completely wear off. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi How ?, In my experience prescribing finasteride since 1997, I have not seen any patient have long-term or lasting side effects. It's also important to keep in mind that there are more common causes of erectile dysfunction, which also affect men who are not on finasteride, including stress, excessive alcohol intake, smoking, lack of sleep, lack of exercise, an unhealthy diet, and aging. Often, men on finasteride overlook their lifestyle choices if they encounter problems, but a healthier lifestyle needs to be considered as well. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Side effects of finasteride are very rare, and only occur in about 2% of users, so I wouldn't rule it out for you.I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. I have one question doctor , if am on finasteride, can I apply minoxidil on my temple hair with dermaroller only for few month than stop minoxidil and continue finasteride
Hi, The effects of minoxidil are usually delayed hair shedding, and a prolonged growth cycle. If you stop using it, you lose gains as the hair delayed from shedding just sheds. Also, a dermaroller may cause more irritation if minoxidil penetrates through the micronholes. If you are planning to stop using minoxidil, you may as well not start as you will lose its benefits when you stop. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Val sala, While the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from viable but dormant hair follicles, no treatment can revive hair follicles that are already dead due to pattern hair loss. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi@@valsala438, Earlier treatment is better to stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, and actively thinning hair, as hair follicles do continue to miniaturize in pattern hair loss without treatment. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi 88Grimmjow, I do not perform beard or body hair transplants as the graft extraction process can cause scarring in the donor area; and the growth, thickness, and texture of body hair is different from scalp hair. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Dr Prasad, can hair that is thin in terms of strand thickness ever increase in thickness again? When I was young each hair strand was thicker but over time the strand becomes thinner. Can this be reversed at all? Thanks.
Hi, We can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from hair follicles that are still viable, but currently not growing with our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment. However, reversal or a cure implies we can fully restore hair prior to progressive pattern hair loss, which cannot be done as some hair follicles would have miniaturized and disappeared already due to pattern hair loss. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Mohi Rubel, Finasteride is a prescription drug for male pattern hair loss, so an evaluation by a doctor is needed before it is taken. The minimum age I prescribe finasteride for male pattern hair loss is 18 as DHT does place a role in physical development. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Dr Im from Gwadar Balochistan Pakistan. I have had a hair transplantation some 15days back. Today I observed around 50graft fall out after a wash. Actually I applied Johnson's baby oil last night so the crust go away. But after a wash I saw around 50grafts fall out. Around 3000 graft hair transplantation I have gone through.
Hi Ali Hassan, It is highly unlikely you lost grafts, and if any grafts were indeed lost this long since surgery, they would not have taken to the scalp, and would be lost eventually. Hair grafts are so firmly in place 48-72 hours after a transplant that it would take a surgical instrument to remove them. Hair does shed naturally, and shedding can be part of the transplant known as shock loss, but the hair will grow back as long as the follicle remains. If you have concerns about your transplant, you should follow up with your surgeon who knows details about your surgery, and can examine your scalp. I hope this helps you.

Hi Sam Negasi, With diabetes, as long as you can heal from a cut without issues, you may be able to have a transplant. However, one of the most important factors of hair transplantation is age at the time of transplant, and ethical hair transplant surgeons agree that transplants should not be done in men under age 30, as explained in this video - ruclips.net/video/2GkCy-30hFg/видео.html

Hi Val sala, Hair transplant surgery does not make hair thicker, it just transfers hair genetically resistant to hair thinning, and in some cases hair still prone to thinning, from the back of the head to the scalp. We can thicken thinning hair with TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment featured in the video, but no treatment can fully restore original hair thickness and scalp density from before pattern hair loss started. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi WITCHER, Sorry to hear about your problem. While PRP might help, this needs a proper examination before recommending treatment. You can refer to dermatologist for a proper diagnosis, and recommendations. I hope this helps you.

Hi Fact Tv, No, finasteride is a lifetime drug to continually block DHT-formation, but DHT-sensitivity is not the only factor in male pattern hair loss. Minoxidil's effectiveness does wane with time. However, finasteride is mostly limited to slowing hair thinning. You can refer to this video on how we can exceed the results of finasteride alone by thickening thinning hair, and stimulating growth from dormant hair follicles with our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment - ruclips.net/video/4YowPNRsv6I/видео.html
Hi Samantha Stevens, COVID-related hair loss is usually temporary hair shedding due to stress, which by itself doesn't require treatment for shed hair to grow back. However, it is possible to have genetic pattern hair loss, and stress related hair shedding concurrently. Therefore, an examination is needed to confirm if there is concurrent genetic pattern pattern hair loss before the treatment can be recommended. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Sir I am suffering from DHT hair loss and my age is 20 . I am taking finasteride and therefore my hair fall is reduced to some extent . One thing I have noticed that whenever I do scalp massage with coconut oil , a lot of hair fall occur . Whereas when I do not do scalp massage , less amount of hair fall occur . So I am confused what to do and why this is happening . Please give me some advice .
Hi himanshu maal, It is normal to shed 50-100 hairs a day, and they do grow back. Pattern hair loss is when shed hair grows back progressively thinner, and there is a delay in regrowth. Massaging your scalp may just be dislodging hairs that are supposed to shed on their own anyway. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Mayank mehta, 18 is the minimum age I would prescribe a DHT-blocker like finasteride as DHT still plays a role in male physical development. However, finasteride is still a prescription drug, so an examination and diagnosis by a doctor is needed before it is prescribed. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi @@mayankmehta625, Wearing caps do not cause pattern hair loss because it's a genetic issue. Finasteride is for blocking the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). You can refer to these videos about the factors of pattern hair loss in men, the importance of finasteride, and how we can go beyond finasteride alone to thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles: ruclips.net/video/d0tddJt6OME/видео.html ruclips.net/video/fLSB-tE0gco/видео.html ruclips.net/video/4YowPNRsv6I/видео.html
Hi Bäädshâh Khäñ, Dutasteride is prescription DHT-blocker to slow hair thinning, not hair shedding. Stopping dutasteride will affect progressive hair thinning, and not hair shedding. I suggest you see the doctor who prescribed dutasteride to identify the cause of your shedding. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi@@baadshahkhan9459, Dutasteride is only to be used with a prescription. I cannot give you further advice about using a prescription medication if you don't have a prescription for it. Again, I suggest you see a doctor about diagnosing the cause of your hair shedding before you take inappropriate medication for your issue.
Hi@@baadshahkhan9459, You should only take what is prescribed. You only need to take one type of DHT-blocker to slow hair thinning. I suggest you ask your doctor to clarify the cause of your hair shedding, as DHT-blockers are for hair thinning, not hair shedding. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hello doctor.. I have doubt about hair transplant...after the HT.. Can I take biotein tablets life long..and if I stop medicine the transplanted hair is fall in 3 to 4 years?.. Or that transplant hair is permanent or not...... And if I take biotein tablets life long the tablets cause any side effects like kidney stone nd lever failure.. Like that.. Please waiting for you reply... Because I am going to do HT.. sir..
Hi Suresh Kesaven, First of all, how old are you? Hair transplants are not advised for men under 30. Biotin, which is vitamin B7, helps with hair growth and health, but it does not treat DHT, which is a major factor in hair thinning, so you need to take a DHT-blocker like finasteride after a hair transplant for progressive hair thinning. Hair transplants do not treat progressive thinning at all, and transplanted hairs taken from outside the permanent zone (a small area at the back of the head genetically resistant to hair thinning) can still thin after a hair transplant. You can refer to these videos about expectations after a hair transplant, and why treatment is still needed after a hair transplant: ruclips.net/video/xfuF2Lqx7mk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/rIlI55F478w/видео.html

Hi@@sureshkesaven2240, The chances of side effects from finasteride are pretty rare at about 2% of users having them. I've had patients who were on finasteride for 20 years who didn't suffer from side effects. If you had a good result, and didn't have side effects, you should keep using it. Finasteride needs to be taken continually to keep blocking DHT, and to slow progressive hair thinning. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi doc I am 16 y/o but now experiencing hair loss and now very noticable in the top part of my scalp, Im from the philippines and want know if this hair regeneration thing is available in my country😊
Hi Ruel Jutba,
While the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment needs to be done in one of our offices in the US, you should have the cause of your hair loss diagnosed locally.
Hi Hello World,
Sorry to hear about your problem. I would have to examine and diagnose the issues with your scalp personally before making a recommendation. There is a lot of information here, but the main problem is still unclear. I hope this helps you.

Hi Zarek the Heretic,
I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. You can refer to these videos about the differences between TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration from PRP alone:

Trichostem hair regeneration is only there in US Dr ?
Hi Anju s
,
Yes, the treatment can only be done in our offices in the US.
Thank you.
Hi Nidal Shah,
If you have male pattern hair loss starting in your 20s or younger, you are likely highly DHT-sensitive, and need a DHT-blocker like finasteride to control it, and slow hair thinning.
Dr...what about your opinion on derma roller and low level laser therapy in treating FPHL ?
I don't recommend dermarollers in general as the rolling action can unnecessarily stretch the microholes in the skin. Also, the hair growth they stimulate is usually fine, don't grow long, and can't be sustained long-term. I don't find low level laser light therapy effective at treating pattern hair loss, and made a video about it -

Hi shahead karim,
Sorry to hear about your problem.

Hi swapnali more,
Sorry to hear about your problem, but genetic pattern hair loss is progressive hair thinning, not hair shedding.

Rosemary oil helps in hair growth Dr ?
Hi M G,
It has been reported that rosemary oil has a similar effect to minoxidil in stimulating hair growth, but keep in mind that minoxidil does not treat the genetic causes of pattern hair loss, and usually just delays hair shedding so you have more hair on your head. Other than that, there isn't too much information about long-term rosemary oil use for hair growth. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Doc... minoxidil helps to prevent hair follicles to die ?
Hi M G,
No, appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head.

Sorry to hear that, but you will need to have your scalp examined by a local dermatologist to determine the cause of the dandruff, and if treatment can be done in conjunction with minoxidil. I hope this helps you.

Which dosage of finasteride is better? 0.5mg every day or 1mg every other day, to save costs
Hi Andy,
I only prescribe finasteride for men with DHT-sensitivity at 1mg daily, which is the standard dosage. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Is prp for hair growth back to thickness effective?
Hi Anjali Mohan,
I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. You can refer to these videos about the differences between TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration from PRP alone:

Hi@@anum3702,
The youngest female patient we ever treated was 16, as she showed a similar hair loss pattern to her mother.

Hi@@ffidsalelowprice6066,
First of all, finasteride is a prescription medication, so you should only be taking it with your doctor's prescription.
You can refer to these videos about the differences of hair shedding, and hair thinning; as well as DHT-sensitivity; and the factors of male pattern hair loss:

Hi Doc Prasad. Today is my 2nd week of post FUT surgery and I want to use minoxidil to make the hairs grow faster and thicker. How long can I use minoxidil after the surgery? I hope you will notice this question 🙏
If I start using the minoxidil, until when can I use it? I am afraid that when I use it on my transplanted hair, then if ever I decide to stop, I am afraid that it will make my hairs shed. Please reply.
Hi Gemmie Nei,
Minoxidil may stimulate some fine hair growth, but it's not going to make your hair grow thicker, or significantly faster.
Assuming you are a woman, you can refer to these videos on how we can improve results from previous hair transplants without needing minoxidil, and why our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil after our treatment:

Do you offer treatment in India ?
And when we do the hair regeneration treatment then for how many years or time my hairs will be thick .. I know it varies but can you give some idea 💡( in my case hair fall is genetical )
Hi MAYUR PATIL,
We don't currently offer the treatment in India, but we do have many Indian patients coming to the US for treatment.
Hi Zee D,
Sorry to hear that.
Hi Crashy_dude1,
There is actually no scarring involved as it's a scalp injection treatment. For patients outside the US, under normal travel conditions, you would have to come to one of our offices in the US, but it is a direct flight for you. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Hi@@HonestToast,
While we have tried to open offices outside the US long before the pandemic, it has proven challenging.

Hi Aveee Abbasi,
As mesotherapy is not practiced in the US, there is a possibility that minoxidil may irritate the scalp as there are open channels from mesotherapy on the scalp. It's important to note that mesotherapy usually consists of vitamin injections, and pattern hair loss is a result of genetics, not nutrition or vitamin deficiencies.

Can I stop minoxidil and start finasteride in male pattern?
Hi Rohan Sawant,
Finasteride is more beneficial than minoxidil as it can slow down and stabilize hair thinning, and it can be used long-term more predictably.

I’m only 18 and my body is still growing. Do you believe it is worth using finasteride when im this young and still growing ?
Hi Abby On The Spot,
Finasteride is more beneficial than minoxidil as it can slow down and stabilize hair thinning, and it can be used long-term more predictably.

Hi Val sala,
Effects of Botox are temporary, and completely wear off after 6 months. Patients often come back for treatment around 4 months before the effects completely wear off. I hope this clarifies things for you.
What is your opinion on post finasteride syndrome?
Hi How ?,
In my experience prescribing finasteride since 1997, I have not seen any patient have long-term or lasting side effects.

I have one question doctor , if am on finasteride, can I apply minoxidil on my temple hair with dermaroller only for few month than stop minoxidil and continue finasteride
Hi,
The effects of minoxidil are usually delayed hair shedding, and a prolonged growth cycle.
So, doc ...no treatment can give back the old thickness in patients having FPHL .....,right?
Hi Val sala,
While the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from viable but dormant hair follicles, no treatment can revive hair follicles that are already dead due to pattern hair loss. I hope this clarifies things for you.
@@AmiyaPrasadMD so...if early treatment is done ,then more good,?
Hi@@valsala438,
Earlier treatment is better to stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles, and actively thinning hair, as hair follicles do continue to miniaturize in pattern hair loss without treatment. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi, do you recommend using beard grafts for crown area?

Hi Dr Prasad, can hair that is thin in terms of strand thickness ever increase in thickness again? When I was young each hair strand was thicker but over time the strand becomes thinner. Can this be reversed at all? Thanks.
Hi,
We can thicken thinning hair, and stimulate growth from hair follicles that are still viable, but currently not growing with our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment. However, reversal or a cure implies we can fully restore hair prior to progressive pattern hair loss, which cannot be done as some hair follicles would have miniaturized and disappeared already due to pattern hair loss. I hope this clarifies things for you.

2) Minoxidil 5%.

Pls give me suggestions sir
Hi Sandip Rathod,
Sorry, I'm not familiar with redensyl. Saw palmetto is not a proven DHT-blocker like finasteride or dutasteride, and it's also a supplement, which means the amount of active ingredients are not regulated like drugs. Biotin is vitamin B7, which helps with hair growth and health, but is not a treatment for pattern hair loss. Hi 238-YCET-14,
There is no connection between sinus issues and hair loss, but you may have concurrent pattern hair loss. This can be determined with a proper examination of your scalp by an experienced doctor. I hope this helps you.
Hi Ali Hassan,
It is highly unlikely you lost grafts, and if any grafts were indeed lost this long since surgery, they would not have taken to the scalp, and would be lost eventually.
How much is your Trichostem treatment Dr?
Hi Joe service,
The cost of the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment varies with the extent of treatment needed. Hi Harsh kanav,
More recent studies have actually shown the opposite, that finasteride reduces the risk of high grade prostate cancer. Studies of finasteride and prostate cancer are easily found on Google, but refer to the ones by cancer organizations, or medical established medical journals. I hope this clarifies things for you.

With diabetes, as long as you can heal from a cut without issues, you may be able to have a transplant. Doc.. minoxidil 2% thick the thinning hair strand in females ?
Hi Val sala,
Minoxidil won't thicken your hair, or stop hair loss, but it appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. You will have to use it daily to sustain these effects, but these effects can also decrease with time even if you use it daily. Since minoxidil delays the hair shedding cycle, and prolongs the hair growth cycle, if you stop using it, you will likely have a significant hair shed. You can refer to these videos about the limits of minoxidil, and why our male and female patients don't need minoxidil after our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment:

Hi@@swethakumar9129,
We don't currently offer the treatment in India, but we do have many Indian patients coming to the US for treatment.
I don’t administer PRP alone for hair loss because it has a limited effect on hair, usually just short-term hair growth. Hi Samantha Stevens,
COVID-related hair loss is usually temporary hair shedding due to stress, which by itself doesn't require treatment for shed hair to grow back. However, it is possible to have genetic pattern hair loss, and stress related hair shedding concurrently. Therefore, an examination is needed to confirm if there is concurrent genetic pattern pattern hair loss before the treatment can be recommended. I hope this clarifies things for you.

So I am confused what to do and why this is happening . Please give me some advice .
Hi himanshu maal,
It is normal to shed 50-100 hairs a day, and they do grow back. Pattern hair loss is when shed hair grows back progressively thinner, and there is a delay in regrowth. Massaging your scalp may just be dislodging hairs that are supposed to shed on their own anyway. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Suresh Kesaven,
First of all, how old are you? Hair transplants are not advised for men under 30. Biotin, which is vitamin B7, helps with hair growth and health, but it does not treat DHT, which is a major factor in hair thinning, so you need to take a DHT-blocker like finasteride after a hair transplant for progressive hair thinning. Hair transplants do not treat progressive thinning at all, and transplanted hairs taken from outside the permanent zone (a small area at the back of the head genetically resistant to hair thinning) can still thin after a hair transplant. The chances of side effects from finasteride are pretty rare at about 2% of users having them.
