I love winding transformers and tesla coils. Something so satisfying about it.
Me too
@Wyqid mas·och·ist
/ˈmazəkəst,ˈmasəkəst/
noun
a person who derives sexual gratification from their own pain or humiliation.
"the roles of masochist and mistress"
(in general use) a person who enjoys an activity that appears to be painful or tedious.
Really nice demo on making the transformer itself. I recommend finding some ferromagnetic glue to hold the core together. I noticed the core is a flyback core, you can also use the retainer pin for extra stability (which my require fine tuning to achieve proper resonance between L1 & L2).
Mine I made with 2 metal clips that hold the 2 pieces together. Works perfect! I can also take it apart and use a different secondary coil for other applications. I like it that way because mine is flexible. Don't have a video of it because I made it a long time ago.
Now that I've watched for a third time... Great video. I honestly can't wait for the next video. I hope I can get my videos to this level!
Thanks for video and the idea.I took also a similar magnetic core and i made a custom CCFL transformer for replacing the original one and impossible to find for a tv repair on a Philips 32PFL5604H/12.
Mine produces thick orange fiery sparks (probably more current than yours). Also much more dangerous. I used 2 IRFP250's. I also used a 0,68uF cap across the 10 turn centre tapped coil. I get really long fiery arcs from just a 700 turn homemade secondary coil (with NO resin HV protection around the coil) using 25VDC from 2 lead acid batteries 7Ah each.
Thats some hell of power
@@69iqtutorial yes!
You'd likely be getting around 1700v. Pretty amazing!
2:35 when you are talking about "gap value" are you referring to the space between the two halves of the iron core? Ive taken apart flybacks in the past that have small copper rings where the two halves join and the flyback doesn't work half as well if they're removed. just confused why you dont need the gap, what is single ended scheme vs push pull referring to? the driver?
In a flyback transformer the current flows in one direction only which magnetises the core if there is no gap.
In push pull the magnetic field reverses and the core is not magnetised in one direction.
KILLER!!! THAT ARC OMG! I LOVE IT! :3
Is it possible to make a transformer useing Headphones wire....
really nice! I was afraid that the number of available fly back transformers might decrease because I didn't know that it's so easy to make a high voltage transformer!
Yes, but for better performance of flyback transformers cores with an air gap should be used to delay core saturation (as I understand it - correct me if I'm wrong - beyond saturation permeability increases and we have higher heat losses without more inductance).
I have some ferrite roots from old radios.
Can i built the core out of them?
May I know from which transformer you took the wire pls tell of which appliances is this
Keep the good work bro 👌 You just got another subscriber 😋
wish i had watched it a couple of days back! my science project would be so good
when you put the resin in you should have put it into a vacuum too, that pulls the bubble's out from underneath the layers, that way it won't be able to arc between layers.
hello i have this fly back ferrite , i want to make exact 2.5 kv @ 30 miliamps.... how much turns in secondry ? wire size ?
holding high voltage cables with normal pliers.... very smart
its galvanicli isolated so there is no votage potencial ...
Tiago Oliveira
is it suitable for an electric fence?
Please how can I test it's isolation can i test it using isolation tester
I enjoyed watching your video
Can this be used in a flyback transformer?
Why do you use sellotape rather than transformer tape?
Can you make a video on how to wire it and what progs connect to what cause I have a transformer but don't know how to wire it up
"that prevents, that prevents" lmao
Nice home made Flyback
I know you don't reply comments but pls just answer this question that from where you took the transformer for that wire a
You can find enameled magnet wire in old picture tube TV's. All the stuff you need for such experiments can be found in them. Be careful as the CRT (cathode ray tube) can store a lethal charge, also the large capacitor on the board can too.
Is this workingon mosfit z44 with 1k ohm registance
can this transformer work in frequency 1kHz ??
It's very Bad to use both hands while playing with Hi voltage potential any circumstances can be Lethal !!!!! 👍👍
WTF MAN !!!! when i made something u make same thing inverter , jacobs ladder , induction heater , wireless charger . OMG
u from croatia?
is the fire a spark gap
why didn't you leave the air gap ?? can you explain please
The primary winding is center tapped and driven push-pull.
can we power it through a tube lite choke
what is the power supply you used ??
The Technocrat mazzilli driver/zvs driver
I modified a HV transformer from old LCD tv, i changed the primary to make a center-tapped one. I wind left to right after i soldered a irfz44n and 1k on Gate. After that it doesn't create a arc when i power up the circuit. After checking the MOSFET the GATE and SOURCE are shorted. Can anyone tell me how to wind proper primary coil?
Ken Gaming get two wires . Wind one four times around the ferrite core get the other wire and do the same then in the Middle where they're right next to each other make a center tap so they're both connected so that means you should have three /four wires one to the right two thet are Center tapped and another wire to the left and connect that to a zvs driver and connect the zvs driver to a 20 volt lithium ion battery and there you go it should work. / wind on primary
@@Mike-nt7cd hi i have question to you does it needed to the secondary winding to be in regular like from top to down and repeting or from top to down and than from down to top
Wouldn't arcing generate x-rays? I thought when electrons hit a metal surface, they generate x-rays.
At least that's what is shown on an x-ray tube illustration. That's why the back of the CRT is shielded! No?
Minimum 20 kv is required to generate X ray by hitting in heavy metal
Thank you by the video!
whats the circuit to make such arc?
How much turns primery and secandry coils
afaik he literally says the amount of turns in the video
Killer arc! 😱
cuantas vueltas se da en cada capa
Wire 0.8 mm? Rather .08 mm, i think.
it's pretty thick but it exists. :D
Shockszzbyyous yes, an I have it, but what he says is cero point eighteen milimeters. 0.18mm
If im wrong, it is 0.08, but what he is using is not 0.8
Wire 0.8mm is AWG 20 gauge, like jumper wire for a bread board. I agree with Red, he does say 0.18mm which is a popular size for magnet wire (0.1798)
No he doesn't talk about the wire but the plastic container
BariumCobaltNitrog3n what the is the supply current the transformer?
I watched this so I could make plasma I just hope it's real
What is the frequency of input voltage ?
5-50khz im guessing
does he say duct tape?
the insulation between the layers you did is way too thick and the epoxy was overkill
There really is no overkill in this situation, unless you are using it for low voltage projects. But if you are pushing it to it's limits, this is definitely needed.
Definitely. No such thing as overkill when for insulating in high voltage systems.

I use a drill to wind.
V good man.
input?
that prevents that prevents
How to know which is secondary or primary coil
In the simplest terms possible: Primary is your "input" coil, secondary is your "output" coil. Alternating current flows into the primary coil, which induces a voltage in the secondary.
