in this video i have shown how to make a high voltage transformer. Here i have used a old flyback transformer's ferrite core. Anyone can try this at home.
How to Make High voltage transformer at Home.
In this video I show how to make a high voltage boost transformer and generate high voltage. You can use MOSFET z44 or tip122 or D880 to build this circuit.

This is cool, but it is impossible for the voltage to be 100,000 with the air gap being so small. 5kV sounds more reasonable
i agree with you
Actually less gap=more amplification
@@jacktherip7750 This is not an amplifier.

Thank you very much for sharing!
Good project. The transformer turn ratio is 150. With a tip122 transistor, the output is 15,000v max.
The circuit should be tweaked to keep the primary voltage below 90. Otherwise, the transistor will eventually fail.
Helpful tip, particularly for a person like who doesn't have idea about configuration of the circuit!

Amazing project I love it, what's for your next video on the same? Is it possible to make it self healing on the battery, like it's recharged when it drains to a certain voltage ⚡ and then use the output to power your TV?
За работу 👍
This is awesome
i used the same wall clock coil for my HV transformer for an experiment but when i tried using a irf840 mosfet to drive it, it melted some parts of the coils so im rewinding it with the wire from a mircowave turntable motor and also trying out a new winding strat
(my transformer pot is also in sections but just deeper)
the coil was 270 ohms
before trying the irf840 i used a dual npn transistor switch and that worked better but only with 2-3kv arcs
Use the D209L transistor, it is much more powerful and durable. The D880 lives in this circuit for 30 seconds, then breaks through it, and also heats up. D209L plows like a watchdog and does not heat up even without a radiator. And from it the spark is longer and more powerful. The D880 C-E has a voltage of 60V, the D209L has 700V, so it does not break through!
What do you mean break through?
Very good 👍👍👍
you are fantastic. great!!!

The high voltage coil can be buried by dripping wax from a candle while melting it, rather than using plastic tape to hold it in place, to prevent moisture from entering the coil and make it stronger and last longer.
In fact, I bought this same high voltage generator circuit from Ariake.

Very Nice bobine 😎👍🏼,
Good job 🛠️👍🏼...👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼...
Thank you for the partage..
there are actually lighter made this way. I love those.
You should probabaly vacuum pot that transformer winding in resin to prevent cross coil arcing and to make sure all the gaps are filled.
Will not help. The coils will not be saturated
The rule of thumb for spark gaps is 3KV (3,000V) per cm. (10mm or 0.393701 inches)
А я знаю правило 1 kV = 1mm
Excelente, ^^

Wow it's so awesome!
It's literally an arc lighter right?
But how could you charge the battery of it?
The 3.7V batteries can be charged with the charging module
@@PenguinDIY you should have connected TP4056 module to make the arc lighter rechargeable
What did you use to ensure there was 600 turns x 6? Dont know about anyone else but I am not keen on the idea of counting 3,600 revolutions of the drill...;)
If u know the speed of the drill you take the time, for example if u need 6k turns and your drill goes up to 3000rpm u count 2 mins and you are done

The breakdown voltage of the transistor is 60V. There will be much larger reverse needle pulses in the primer that will destroy the transistor in a maximum of half an hour.
I did one many years ago and my 100V transistor also broke down.
Right idea ! Very good

@@victorfranklin338 What about protection due condesator?
What is the point of the transistor? It doesn't seem to be doing anything since you have a transformer at the end of the day with 2 leads coming out.
@@AdamGtr86 On the primary side, two coils are connected in series. The higher the number of turns in the primary, the smaller it gives inductive, positive feedback to the transistor. This is an inductive feedback oscillator.

Hey Penguin thanks for making a awesome little device but also a ear killer to me as i could hear the very high operating frequencies and they were making my ears hurt really bad.
Its self oscillating you cant change the frequency of it but eith a zvs you can, also the zvs gives more power

Maybe if you cry about it some more your future self will go back in time and prevent you from watching this video....
Poor you
Hi; please advise the current consumption of the circuit?in case let's use 9 v battery and 7805 in the circuit so input v is 5 V.? However I have to say that it is impossible for me to wind 600 turns of 0.05 mm wire without breaking it off
If you need advising on that, you shouldn't be tinkering with this.
Cool.

tinkering with this too
Very nice project very usefull
Accuracy and truth are invaluable in rating the specs of something. Also how about a device that's slightly durable, such that someone might want to keep it. Do that and Voila!! magnifique. !
Don’t try this at home if you don’t want to set yourself at risk
uso un ladron de julios para crear un campo magnetico como el de la corriente alterna, para luego aprovecharlo en una bobina muy densa para elevar el voltaje ⚡ fue genial, podria usarse como un encendedor cool o para una solddadura micro talvez

Watching is a universal language. 👍
For transformers like this one in video (which you can easily disassemble and assemble again) I would suggest two transistor zvs driver instead this blocking oscillator
Will this give an electric shock?
3:13 - I think you should use Thermal Paste (like processors) not silicone paste
They are all silicone paste. Only quality and concentration
They are different. For such projects, this model of silicone paste is suitable.
This is a nice stun gun🙉💥
very good, Thank you ✅
Less than 20kv
If it was 100kv then you would need A MUCH larger primary to secondary ratio and a higher input voltage
Shits less than 10kv... likely less than 5kv.
@G E T R E K T lol yeah.
@G E T R E K T lmfao, go look at my page and check out the physics engines I program. :D. Dunce!
Is that where your name came from, you just float around online wrecking yourself by saying the first stupid thing that pops into that little noggin of yours.
Not only do I program physical engines but have created Tesla coils, Lasers, Lifters and tons of other high voltage projects. What are your qualifications again? None? Oh ok, that explains why you don't seem to know what you're talking about. You don't even seem to know how to gauge voltage by air breakdown distance for God sake.
@G E T R E K T No, you wrecked yourself. Not only on this comment but the other one you even mentioned yourself those rule only applies for spherical electrodes yet can't seem to realize that would make it a lower voltage here as its breakout due to concentration on a point is far lower. Its almost like you have NO practical experience, shocker.
@G E T R E K T Bro... look at the Fing video... how wide do you think the tip of his thumb is? Mine is flatter and larger at around 8mm... this is like maybe 2/3 that being generous as it comes to such a sharp point. Even using you absolutely unscientific anecdotal measurements you come out to roughly 6kv or so as the arcs produced here are literally only a couple millimeters apart and he jumpers it using tweezers so what exactly are you trying to argue as you are literally arguing with yourself here. This all ignores the ionization properties of the frayed wire allowing lower voltage breakdown. His real arclength here is likely about a mm or two. How much do you really believe this arc is because even saying 10kv is so insanely generous its unreal. You really don't seem to understand the slightest bit about any of this but are just here to argue to look smart while you accomplish the opposite in every single post.

Buenas noches profesor me podría explicar cómo es posible que pase a esa cantidad de voltios ?
Thank you, this looks awesome! I have some questions.
There are 3 wire connections on the primary side of the transformer. It was unclear in the video where they all went to.
It looked like the center tap went to the base and one wire went to the collector.
Is that correct? And the other side of the primary is connected to +3.7V?
Also, why did you use 24 and 28 gauge wire for the primary? Why not just use the same gauge for everything?
Thanks!
Thanks.
For how to connect the wires, please refer to the schematic in the description, tap the link to download the schematic.
According to calculations, this type of winding is the best switching mode for this type of transistor, which reduces the temperature of the transistor.
Zdravím Vás, a odpovídám. S pozdravem Jezevec

If so, would it be wise idea to use diodes to get DC.

That's what's so cool about this. With a tiny little 3.7V battery, there's virtually no wattage in those 100,000 volts, it's just the 1 Amp stretched incredibly thin by all those coils. You could touch it all day and barely get a sunburn
@@Alkimi Good point. If you ever want to get somebodys attention, gut a disposable camera. Keep the flash in tact. Let the "monkey" see the shiny thing then lay it down. I used to do it when guys wouldnt stay out of my toolboxes at my shop. Several warnings later id do the national geographic thing. The box was taller than i am so id charge the capacitor with a 9volt and reach up and kay it in the top tray after shining it their way. Then leave. Mins later come back and find them sitting on their arse with a messed up look on their face. Ive rigged up remote controls flaslights and lighters as well. Some are 360 volts. Sorry Rusty! Lights, massive stereo system(dad was a musician his concert stage equipment was my stereo system when he wasnt using it 18s and 24" subs , amps etc) Batteries wore out one day. I knew there was power in the outlets and the battery needed power. The battery case had pig tails so if i stick the two wires in the two slots in the outlet ill have power to charge the alkaline non rechargeable batteries. When i got my senses back and bandaged my cauterized burns all over me and what was left of my fingers i learned how to r&r an electrical outlet reset the breaker removed the black soot and burns up the sky blue painted wall slapped fresh paint on it and did it all before mom got home. Odly i ended up as a building contractor and a commercial electrician for years.
@@davidreynolds4684 haha! I have a similar story. My friend had the erector set, I was so jealous, they were so cool! I just had Legos, but my dad was a mechanic and I had all the spare parts you can imagine. I soldered wires directly to a light bulb after determining that my lamp had no electrical components inside it, so it should work if I just connect the outlet directly to the bulb, right? I remember a bright flash and then the bulb exploded. I don't think it even tripped the gfi, and I didn't get shocked (as far as I recall lol)
But once when I was 7, I had my finger in between the two prongs while I was plugging something in, and I felt the shock through my entire body for a long time before I was able to pull my hand back. I was surprised at how I seemed to be just fine afterwards.
Lately I've been pondering the many memories I have that may in fact be the memory of my death, and how impossible it is to know if/when I died and have since been experiencing something like Dante's Divine Comedy.
