Andrew Jones it truly is a special car and a rare sight to see it drove that hard at all , although typically American modest and graceful definitely don't spring to mind lol
I have mixed feelings about these cars being driven. On one hand, they should be preserved so Future generations can still get to see them. On the other, it would be such a shame to never hear that brash, barbaric, glorious engine.
Such an impressive and amazing line up this year. But THIS! is by far my all time dream car ever. A replica will have to do it for me though. Just amazing. Massive kudos to the owner and driver.
@Dr. Bananable Lector - Bob Bondurant hit 197 mph in his Daytona Coupe on the Mulsanne Straight. No other GT car of the time could come close to that fast, especially with a small block 289 engine with carburetors, and no turbo or supercharging!
@@IamSnehan Thanks! Good to be here - RUclips is my Covid 19 escape! Only trouble is I think I might be getting carpal tunnel syndrome from too much typing! Lol
Unbelieveble that stunning V8 sound. It's a drug. You can't stop hearing it. It's just like music into my ears. I will give 1000 points from the maximum 10
This is so unbelievable cool. Got to see one of the original six at Laguna Seca a few weeks ago, crazy that so many of them are still used to this day! Mad respect!
That's subjective, personally i prefer the breadvan to the 250 gto, its a faster car too (hence why enzo ferrari hated it and wouldn't allow it to race under the ferrari name, hilarious story if you read about it)
alphadogg64 ok so the Shelby is still on top out of the three . How long are you going to keep this up . It must be that alpha dog mentality still lingering around
i love that this car is driven. its practically priceless but seeing this car in videos at goodwood and at spa shows that the owner doesnt want it to rot in a garage.
So awesome to see this thing being raced I know other people have said this in the comments but to see one of these still being raced is incredible any Rich goof that buys these cars and let them sit in a garage is just what I said he is Rich goof🤣🤣🔥🔥❤️❤️
This car was faster, (with the same engine) more stable at speed and handled better than the GT40 when it was first built. But development was halted because Ford wanted the GT40 at LeMans. I just wish they had been able to develop the car and build some with the 427 engine. The car was developed because the Cobra was limited by aerodynamics. The fastest the open car ever went was 189mph. But that was coming out of a high bank and kinda downhill. In the first drive this car pushed 200mph. In It's day, that was unheard of.
Hans Schultz Hello, I am the driver. I showed up in my fiberglass replica, said I have plenty of experience, and it was kind of weird but they just handed me the keys!
Hans Schultz If I'm not mistaken it's Dean Lanzante, He is the one who taking care of this car (Same company that made P1 LM and P1 GT). Or the owner of the car.

Who would have thought 1960s small ford v8 and 385hp could sound so wicked oh yeah and that's how it's should be driven 2...got make it sing with pipes like that, that was way beyond a growl....hah ha yeah boy....
I got a bad feeling when he went past that craggy wall. If the back stepped out of line, I could see $25 million going up in smoke and Pete Brock having a heart attack.
To see it drove that hard in 2018 might be the most special thing I've ever seen at good wood
Andrew Jones it truly is a special car and a rare sight to see it drove that hard at all , although typically American modest and graceful definitely don't spring to mind lol
this is what they were made for NOT a museum
That car must’ve been really happy
@@azz187 Classic pieces of art belong on a wall. Classic racing machines belong on a race track, just where they were meant to be!
I've got some good wood
Fantastic to see this car being driven how it should be instead of sitting in some billionaires museum.
EvtheNev This Daytona is literally everywhere in every car event.
I could not agree more

@@jayive34 well there is the unrestored one in the Simeone museum people can go and look at. They are race cars they are meant to be raced 😊
YES YES. SO MUCH YES.
Fantastic sound. Expensive car BEING DRIVEN PROPERLY. That's what Goodwood's about.
Ayman B. Not only this but also a 250 LM and a GTO being pushed. Nothing like it
That V8 sound 🔥🔥🔥
The one dislike is from Enzo Ferrari.
And 7 more from his offspring since!
Lol
😆
Have you watched Ford vs Ferrari right?
😊
Best run thus far in this year’s FOS. He drove it like a replica lol💯💯
So true.
RIP Mr. Shelby, your mark on the world will be long remembered.
Imagine hitting the Mulsanne kink at about 200mph with only woods and afterlife awaiting you. Only heroes need apply.
i dont think mulsanne kink was there in 65 was it?
The Kink has always been there, towards the end of the straight.
I apply anytime 😎❤️
ryan sanders it’s always been there... they didn’t think of adding a kicker when the 956 came through...😉
For 24 hours long, damn that's scary...
An orgasmic sound of raw V8 American muscle!👍🏻🇺🇸
@I Am Sekou Lol

I got goosebumps!!!
Jordy de reus ik ook
How can you even downvote this?!?
So glad it’s pure sound too omg. For once you can hear just the pure sound of the car, that was great
Easy to downvote if you're a Ferrari or Bow-Tie fan boy! Lol
I don't revisit a lot of videos, but this one continues to pull me back in.
I want this song played at my funeral

That thing is fast even by todays standards
give it a set of modern slicks and I'm sure it would set a mid 40's hill time

Such a brutal and rough sound, that's excatly why I love old cars. The Cobra is one of my favorites.
My wife asked what I was watching and I said "pornography".
Jason S Lmao!
"Can we get one, honey?"
and I said "I have no wife"
Might as well. It'd be easier to explain
Let her watch toooo! She will appreciate ladys a lot more
I rest easier at night knowing that men & machine like this represent my country abroad, bravo!
Balls of steel. Best run I've ever seen on FOS.

Oh the noise! The sweet wonderful noise!
Glad someone is driving it the way it was designed to be driven. I'd absolutely beat this thing in the track if i had it.
All American ear drum busting horsepower!
Sounds and looks better than the 250GTO!
That's subjective, personally i prefer the breadvan to the 250 gto, its a faster car too (hence why enzo ferrari hated it and wouldn't allow it to race under the ferrari name, hilarious story if you read about it)
Better looking than The 250 gto? No.
Oh my god that is beautiful. Hundy on the throttle and that SOUND, OHH!!
This car sounds like violence but looks like a dream
Best sounding 289 I've heard.
That great sound being made due to the cam, tuned exhaust headers, side pipes and Weber carbs.
@@Loulovesspeed They were stoking and boring them to 347'sback in 65

WW2 Fighters, carburetted v8 muscle cars and the sound of a bda Escort. Beautiful
The way it was made to be driven.......Thank you
Its nice to see such a rare car actually do what it was built for
That is a freaking beast...love that sound, nothing like it!
The closest I heard @lemans is the Panoz 😎gtr-1 shaking the ground...
Master Kenny Bräck is out and shows how to drive :)

IMHO the 60's, and the 80's are the maddest decades for racing :)

I'll take this car over a Bugatti Chiron any day
*coopers66* Barebones machine >computers
I even take an original mini cooper over a chiron
Yeah but this car doesn't have Bluetooth!!!
*cgouais* why do you need Bluetooth when you have the sound of a purebred V8?
cgouais It never had a radio. That's what people like about it,
It may never happen but it would be amazing seeing all 6 Daytona Coupes all together again
What a beautiful car the Cobra Daytona Coupe is!
The sounds are so beautiful
That exhaust note is mesmerizing
This has got to be the best sounding V8 there is, in my opinion anyhow.
Indeed that little 289 is angry lol 😅
I could easyly trade all the supercars of that show for ONE daytona.
Shelby for LIFE
RIP Carrol
The Daytonas built by Carrozzeria Gransport in Italy looks a little nicer than the one built in Venice
I love that there are people out there that have £25 million and decided to do this with it. What a way to spend your money

@Chris Daigle - Shelby had an all aluminum 390 engine in the works but the Daytona had finished its job by then, so it never was built, unfortunately.
Driving it like he stole it. what a beast. holy crap. make a grown man cry.
This is the greatest v8 sound on history ever
My love for this car started in Forza Horizon 1. I got the game around the time when Forza Horizon 2 was booming.
That bellowing v8 though......eargasm
So epic!!! Meanwhile the electric cars, hahaha
Please... Don't even get me started about the electric cars........
I own a daytona replica and don't drive it as hard as this guy is driving a 7 mil 1 of 6 originals. This is awesome
What a beautiful beast!!!
😍
You don't know unless you really know the value of these cars and I'm not talking monetary the legend lives on ❤️🔥
So loud, unrefined and uncivilized. What a glorious sound.
