Back for 2014, to experience the spectacular aircraft viewing spot on the A15, rumours say this maybe the last time we see this here, well lets hope not.
The Vulcan has to be the coolest plane ever made, I saw one live at Shoreham airshow about 10 years ago and the noise that thing makes is out of this world.
Great to see The Vulcan flying in to home! I still remember as a kid seeing them overhead almost every day. Then as I got a bit older I'd cycle 5 miles up the road and watch The Lightnings. Should have enlisted in The RAF, bit of a life regret not doing.
My sister is heavily in the Vulcan preservation community. I was always a Lightning ⚡ guy. Both are amazing but hers is meant to kill and mine was meant to stop death. It would piss her off when I came out with that twaddle..,☮️ Where did you go to watch them?
I grew up in Finningley village as a kid in 70/80's and the vulcan 'bomber command' was based there. I'll never forget how the windows and lights used to shake when they took off. You could feel the heat on you face as they put on there after burners to gain hieght above our house. I still get a buzz thinking about it now.
Awesome video! One can almost feel the shock waves as these giants fly by! And did you see those kids having a great time, waving theirs arms in the air.. wonderful!
The Vulcan has been up two days running now. It must be getting ready for air shows and stuff. There is not a sound on this Earth that makes a noise like this beast, then suddenly after two low level circuits, it pointed upwards at an unbelievable angle and disappeared into the clouds like a javelin! Awesome.
I remember my Dad taking me to Fbro airshow when I was a teenager. We had a 2CV and we removed the entire back seat and used it as a sofa! The weather was great and it was 1st time I'd seen (and heard!) Vulcan for real. I admit when it went overhead I was absolutely bloody *terrified* by the noise thru the ground! Oh happy days :-)
Wow, there were some interesting things coming in to land! Especially the Draaken and the Viggen. I didn't even think the Draaken was operational still!
absolutely incredible spot! especially with the awacs and then the vulcan at the end. i think that is the only vulcan that is still able to fly too so you're very lucky to have seen that!
+N.G Firenz`e Brxdda ✈ I googled it and found out that is is kept in 'taxiable' condition, the airframe is not safe for takeoffs any longer. I would not mind taking a taxi like that home from the local pub....
I thought there were no more remaining Vulcans in the world that were flying, this is possibly one of the coolest things I seen, anybody here that day was so lucky.
There is one flying (evidently from this video) its a costly exercise for them but they try to keep her flying for displays. The orginisation that keeps her flying have mostly flown Vulcans' themselves during their military careers. She's a thing of beauty though ain't she.
Liam Husler 2015 will be the last display season ever though as the engines and airframe have about reached their allotted flight hours, very very sad. But Im fortunate enough to have lived close to where it was based (the pilot at the time up to 1993 lived about a dozen doors down the road). I remember we used to get regular flypasts when I was at school, just awesome! Go watch some vids with it on full throttle, sounds like hells being unleashed.
gtametro It would be flying longer if some idiot hadn't left stuff (silica bags last I heard) in the engines when she started up a couple years back, that wrecked two meaning the two spares had to be fitted... totally killed the flight life-span of what she had left.
Love the lawn chairs and ladders! Just missing the coolers and beer! In America you'd be told to leave for traffic safety. But that B-17 landing...awesome! Like going back in time 70 years and seeing what people experienced in Europe and the UK back then. And I had no idea there was a Saab Draken even still flying! Nice to see European warbirds like that still around.
Actually, no you can watch approaches at Air Park in Queens, NY. It is situated on approach to 4-22 and is located across from the airport and Grand Central Parkway. I spent many a day there with my boys watching approaches and shooting stills and videos.
florret2003 - Reminds me of sitting in the park (Gravelly National Park) in front of Washington DC's Reagan National airport when they are landing to the south for 19 after following the Potomac down from the northwest! Bigtime plane spotting there too and it's even great when they taxi up to 19 and take off to the south. What I was referring to was runways that are next to roads where people pull off, just like this one. I used to live near Lockheed-Martin's factory in Marietta GA (Dobbins Air Reserve base) and the road that runs north-south on the southeastern side of the runway with an excellent view (Cobb Parkway). When pulling off the road there and getting out to shoot photos or video the Cobb County or local Marietta police would tell me to move along.
Blew my phone speakers at 0:41. Blew my ear buds at 1:37. Blew my Bluetooth speaker at 1:57. Blew my computer speakers at 2:10 . Blew my home theater at 3:57. But I knew it was all worth it at 4:16 when I realized I'd gone completely deaf. RIP ear drums.
Holy Moly, I felt like running and Iam watching it on my laptop......wish I was there to experience that, shame like you say it might be the last time, but watching this vid I can understand why......
Great video. Nice assortment of aircraft. Reminds me of my Jr./High School age sitting at the end of the runway of Castle AFB. Would love to see a flying Vulcan.
That last Vulcan landing on this vid was perfection - a skilled pilot who knows the aircraft - greasing the touchdown. A joy to watch!
Oh, the Vulcan, the Vulcan the Vulcan. How can the best part of100 tons of aluminium be so beautiful.

Them Vulcans can make such a sweet sound, great shots of all aircraft.
Wow the B-17 was a pleasant surprise! Great variety of aircraft seems like a fun day.
yes!
+fuflang what a beautiful old bird
B-17 is one of the most beautiful birds to me, looks like it can carry a shit load of bombs as well!
Only as much a two engined Mosquito could, which was much faster too.
Just back from a 1945 bombing mission
Man....like them Vulcans! Nice to see them still flyin. All awesome aircrafts and great viewing spot.
What a wonderful variety of planes and great video, thanks for sharing!!
Literally, a fantastic mix of aircraft! Thanks!
What an awesome array of planes, and the sky backdrop was perfect. The video was perfect.
Oh how lucky! What a rush that must've been!!! Excellent video, thanks for sharing!
thank you for these, knowing how small the viewing angle in the Vulcan is its amazing they can land the thing!
I love watching the Vulcan in action! She looks like a beautiful moth!
Fantastic camera work, framing follow-focus. This from a 40 year tv news photographer, film, videotape, digital media--well done.
Great closing shot. The star of the show and its fan club. What a great place to stand and watch.
Great cameraman on this film! And wonderful aircrafts. I loved it.

Looks like an oversized and glorified missile.
That last one... Omg! What a great spot for pics and videos.
Great video. One of the best I've seen in a while!
Amazing landing video and spot for filming!
The Draken at 1:42 is sick. Love the shape of that aircraft.
You save the best for last :)

Thanks so much for posting. Really interesting to see all the different types. I liked the B-17 as well. I expect it was probably 'Sally B'.

The B-17 was the best. Just perfect. The skill of all the pilots are amazing.
Anyone else notice the first aircraft landing; the pilot gave an aviational salute!
I'm not seeing what you are referring to...

I think jt was operating in a historical capacity at an airshow

Too big wing. Wing too big. No good. Need smaller wing, is better. Not have big wing, is no good.
Great work! The Vulcan and the B-17 (Sally B?) stealing the show. Lovely to see the Draken included.
What a view! Breathtaking!
Nice to see the Vulcan come home, shame it may have been for the last time. Great video as ever.
hopefully getting to see it at the Southport air show tomorrow weather permitted

A Saab 37 Viggen and 35 Draken in sequence. That's aviation porn right there. :D
I remember sitting on Pendine each in the early 90's watching all the Iraq 1 aircraft buzzing about. So much activity back then.
:-) Hell yeh
Draken must be one of the most beautiful designs for a fighter jet. Kind of a concorde look to it.
