As an intermmediate you need to use at least som kind of periodization to see progress in your results. and as advanced lifter you need to do fucking program half the year in advance to make any progress :D Basically if you can lineary progress for years and to be bigger and stronger than most people and still be in novice phase Its very individual. of course there are strength standards for each phase also. But if you train purely for hypertrophy its not that easy to determine your 1 RM to get som useful data.

Dr. Mike, I get my rice and pasta in bulk from a warehouse store, which is great for the price savings. But I notice they are really hard and crunchy and have no flavor. Is there some preparation step I'm missing before I eat them?
I have the same problem. I heard someone say something about putting rice in water, and somehow making it bubble with extreme heat, and then the water is supposedly gone after a while. Sounds like a waste of time to me, why add water if you don't want it anyway?

Dear Dr Mike: I love your big personality, man. I was watching a few of your videos, and I kinda just surfed onto this video, and it was a ton of fun, and, the casein protein pudding @7:00 was a huge bonus
I make protein pudding too but instead of water I measure out anywhere from 75-150 ml of heavy whipping cream. Whip that for a minute to thicken then add 1 egg, mix and add 1 scoop of protein powder and use an egg beater to whip it til it's a pudding consistency
That works out to just over 1000 calories for meal!!! I would have to heat it up 3 times just to stuff it in me over a period of an hour or more, there is no way I could eat all that in one sitting. My carbs are from 225 - 250 /day, that would only leave a very small amount for the rest of the day.
