This reminds me of the hurricanes in south fl .We would watch the roofs and doors blow down the streets when the wind would hit around 100

I applaud this news station for not using the term "hurricane force." But although this doesn't meet the actual definition of hurricane force winds, it's still impressive.

the winds were gust of 100 mph in the springs, the snow drifts !!!!! lost power for 13 hours then on march 15 I headed to airport to go on a cruise to the Bahamas, my eyelids were so red from being blasted snow.

I was snowed into Limon one spring, on way back from aunt's birthday in Missouri. Was blessed to find a room and breakfast next day.
Same with Cheyenne. Wyoming one spring: an aborted trip to West Coast.

That is a legit blizzard, the wind stays sustained at above 50mph and snow stays at 2-4 inches an hour

I wish more people would make the right decision by staying put when the wx is very bad. Just plain stupid to go out in this stuff. Either way its good to keep some emergency things in the vehicle. Changes of underwear and socks, toothbrush, wet wipes, deoderant, etc. Blankets, heat packs, and candles with lighter too. Some kind of energy foods would be great too. I honestly dont know what to say about water in the winter. Change it all out every once in a while to always have fresh stuff. Dont just do it for a storm. A NOAA weather receiver and a budget priced small portable radio. Keep it all there. You never know.
