I've heard there's suspicion that Strasburg 90 has Reading 2100's whistle. I went to the MWRPS open house this year and the guys working on 2100 showed off her new reproduction reading six chime as the original had been stolen or lost. They were particularly pointing out that 90 has an original reading six.
Oh ok. Last time I saw 765 in cuyahoga valley it looked like it had 2 whistles on it. This video finally answered that question for me when you showed the video of it with the deeper whistle
I guess you could argue that burning coal produces greenhouse gas pollution, but in the pre-global-warming 🙄 sense, coal-burning Steam locomotives are very environmentally-friendly (if you overlook the environmental damage caused by extracting the coal from the ground). The smoke they produce is a mixture of steam and ash. Steam dissipates and condenses into water vapor and the ash falls back to the ground and mixes with the soil, enriching it and making it more fertile.

425 is my favorite because I've been on it before too
Reading & Northern 425's Reading 6 Chime from 2102, aka the superior T-1
The Nathan 6 chime in Nickel plate road 765.
The replica Pennsy 3 Chime sounds oddly majestic to me, compared to the authentic one that CN 89 was wearing.
TBH, probably the Lukenheimer (lemme know if i misspelled that) 3 chime.
That reading 6 echoing in the distance at the start(in the intro) was just beautiful 🥲
Wow, awesome work! My favorite in here is probably going to have to be the Manns Creek Crosby 3 Chime. Once again, great work.
So many steamers are still out there still chuggin in a more beautiful environment than they’re work years
I love the couple that backed their car up once they realized someone was trying to film the engine!
Spectacular job Nick! Personal favorite is the Nathan 5 on 2.
Awesome collection of videos and whistles
i love whistles like the pennsy 3 chime or the replica nathan 5 chime
really do love that shop-built 3 chime off of 576, notably it's deep tone is what drags me in
I really like NC&StL #576's whistle on #765
Great video Nick :)
My favorite is gonna be the R&N 425 whistle and C&O greenbrier whistle, and SP 6 chime.
SP desert 5 chime a beauty to hear

The Replica Pennsy 3 chime was my favorite
That SP Desert 5 Chime is gorgeous, I would love to have a replica of one!
I just don't like how much pressure they put on it, it makes it sound much higher pitched than I think it should like that
sounds like old Lionel commercial whistles to me, i kinda love it
I really like the editing style that goes into this! Very well done!
Thank you!
Man that Crosby w/the mountain echo is just tough to beat! But a Reading 6 is a great 2nd place.
1:15 why does that sound so much like 261s whistle
The replica pennsy 3 chime is my favorite.
The steam whistle is the voice of a steam locomotive.
Pennsy 3 chime is the ‘cleanest’.
The Nathan 6 sounds kinda funny
My favorite whistles are lower pitched long bells
No Southern Railway 630 or 4501?
5:38 Hancock Whistle?
Hancock Whistle 6:32
It was built by the NC&St.L shop forces, but is based on a Hancock flat-top longbell design.
I was unaware of any Russian decapods (2-10-0)s still in use or been restored???
That 1st one was 765 not 760. That’s steam in the valley in cuyahoga county
That whistle is a guest from the 760. The 765’s regular whistle appears later.

2nd one the 6 chime
The 5-chime whistle on J&L 58 is a NZGR (New Zealand Government Railways) 5-Chime. Sounds good, doesn't it?
sounds a little wheezy
Man that's 765
Is 760 just renumbered 765?
The whistle originated from no. 760; the 765 received no numbering changes.
I think they would want you to say j&l narrow gauge
atleast these animals produce natural pollution, unlike diesel
