The capstone to Nickel Plate Road No. 765's 79th year was a pair of fall color excursion weekends as part of the Indiana Rail Experience. What a truly WONDERFUL video you've posted here! Very entertaining as well as educational. I feel that you should start your own TV show on PBS and call it "This Old Caboose"! And, as someone who's spent his life living in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, I was especially impressed with the final paint job which was applied to the exterior. Thanks for restoring the exterior to that which once actually existed on the caboose you purchased. I can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed watching this. Thanks again for sharing your adventure with us.... and enjoy using your beautifully restored "hack".... the name which railroaders in my area often called their train's caboose.

Runs on heating oil now. Much easier to deal with than coal or wood.
You’re wrong about that the 2102 burns coal! the one you you are thinking of is the 2100 which is being rebuilt to running condition. It has been converted to burn oil.

It was officially announced a couple of months ago that plans of restoring Durango & Silverton 478 have been made so hopefully sometime in the near future they could do a triple header to Cascade canyon.
