They ask for it to be slashed to be able to mark out excavation points somewhat survey the area before digging things up, find pipes so they don't hit them and any services mate 👍
1 music i cant stand other ppls voices reading to me haha 2 slash to save tires getting staked and survey pins going in. Never fear they'll still charge another fee to remove vegetation (grass) when they cut block Good work mate hope you enjoyed a cold one after that!
I was stoked to see you switch to the hedger. I started with that on my own block. I new there was no waste or rocks etc. I knew it would be way quicker and quieter. Both my neighbour and brother laughed when they saw it! I'm a highly pragmatic guy. The train crews etc only do bulk slashing with dedicated, harness supported, long length wire line, twin handled beasts. I thought it worked brilliant. I did one pass. Raked it up. Went in with the mower = like the 1m+ grass was never there. Earthworks = heavily dependent on the machine being used. A digger, skid or dozer. logically it would be so they know they're not running their machines into hiden piles of bricks, trash, stumps. Also, if you're trying to get a level. Imagine it this way. Imagine being asked to skim the water/coffee line with out disturbing it to much of a cappuccino. How do you know where the solid fluid line is under all the froth. Likely that your cost is cheaper than running machines to find it.
And yes, bush stone curlew. They're dumb as all get out but are actually protected because they were on the brink of extinction. Don't know how, because they're everywhere and bread like rabbits. I suspect it's because as you saw they have almost zero survival instinct beyond running. They his at you like a cat if you get close to their kids and they're the one that sound like someone is whaling/crying when they're calling out.
