what is a preferred topsoil type? when you get from big box store, the called "topsoil" is in too small of a bag and when you trying get large volume, it can be sand/organic composite/soil mix etc
Hi Most of the time I would not recommend getting bagged topsoil from bunnings. Depending on the landscape yard, some have a few varieties of top dressing soil. Some will have top dress and premium top dress soil. Most landscape yards will sell to you by the bag. It is a more expensive option, but of course easy to load into a car etc if you don't have access to a trailer or ute. And depends on the square meterage you are covering. If you are not cylinder mowing, I would just stick with a good quality top dress soil. Mix of sand and soil/organic matter. Hope that answered your question. Have a great day 😀 👍
Another useful video Ben - good to see the progress. What were the products that you used to treat the nutgrass as I’ve got a fair amount coming through now?
Hey mate, Na, from North Brisbane Landscapes. I have used soils from most landscape businesses in Brisbane and its been a roll of the dice some times with what comes in the soil etc. This particular client did already have a bit of nutgrass in that area prior to the reno, so I can't say it came in the soil. Have a great day mate 👍 😀
Thanks mate. It depends on the heat you are getting, but generally smaller for frequent waters are sufficient. Like 15min in the morning, midday and arvo for a week. But just factor in landscape lay out, eg drainage, shade etc.
Yep mate, that lawn is looking very beautiful. Can’t wait to see it fully lush
Thanks mate. Same. Have a great day 👍 😀

Sempra herbicide. Active is Halosulfuron. You only need 1.3g/100sqm. Don’t forgot the adjuvant as well.
Hi Simon
Thanks mate. I just use Sedgehammer from Bunnings and find that works well.
Have a great day mate. 😀 👍
Did you use the sandy loam top dress from candy soils by any chance? I've always had a bunch of nutgrass come up after using their products.
Pretty normal after any renovation.

Awesome update. How much should you water buffalo after a Reno in the first week?
Thanks mate.
