For instance, if you are driving aggressively then the AI will be more likely to defend harder and vice versa. And changing how many mistakes the AI makes depending on the player's own mistakes too. Stuff like that would be great.
@@slama_silviu_47 there's an aggressiveness slider in auromobilista so i don't think it's that hard to do. Not so sure about the one for mistakes as i'm not sure if any game has that but usually higher aggression also means more incidents so that would kind of go hand in hand with each other.

Hey Alex, have you checked by any chance how the AI behave in qualifying? In 2021, after I finish my flying lap and I'm doing cool down lap before entering pits (to save tires, engine wear etc.), they always slow down behind me, no matter if I'm driving slow, away from the racing line, they always come behind me or next to me, which causes chaos sometimes... Also, sometimes they come out on track right in front of you in stupid manner and ruin your flying lap. I hope Codies will fix that.
The reason why the AI slows behind you (even if you're on a cooldown lap) is because they are also on an out/in lap. If they were on a flying lap they would likely go past you. Ultimately, codies need to put in a mechanic for letting you know when a flying lap driver is approaching. And they should also pass you if they are on their outlap, since they will be beginning their flying lap shortly after. As for when the AI coming out on track during your flying lap, this does need to be addressed. That has happened so many times for me as well it's infuriatng!
@@iamNibs they seem to slow down behind you because if you are going slow enough the yellow flag comes out and then they won’t pass u less you speed up or go off the track. Had many penalties this way.
I hate this too. What's worse, I've seen AI stop dead on their cool down lap or crawl at 10mph alongside another AI while I'm on a flyer. Quali ruined instantly. Needs to not be a thing in '22
Same issue is in 2020. Damn annying trying to be in a hot lap and suddenly there are a group of 4 cars driving slowly blocking the road completely utterly ruining your lap. I will be hugely disappointed if that continues in 2022. And I have even seen the ai drivers slow down from their hot laps behind me when i am driving like 200 km/h in a straight far from the driving line.
It’d be crazy cool if in the future we have specific AI defense styles, like how aggressive some drivers are, for example: overtaking Verstappen & Magnussen would be much harder than overtaking Bottas or Gasly since Max & KMag’s AI would be less likely to back out and more likely to cause contact, whereas Gasly & Bottas are more likely to back off
i would really love if AI could battle me harder. I always and only really play singleplayer and ive noticed its just easy to overtake them or defend most of the times (in 21). Id love ai similar to assetto corsa (hear me out!) when ac's ai are on the outside, the keep their foot in and sometimes go onto rumble strips to keep the position. The ai will never do that here and they just back off!
The only thing I want from the AI is increased chance to cause a safety car or vsc whether it be through them making mistakes or crashing into each other because it was make racing them so much more realistic and interesting
I have yet to see a safety car be used yet in my game, at least in my career mode where im 9 races in and having almost all assists off minus replay and tcs, i have the safety car set to as high as it can be yet the ai never crashes in a way to bring it out, the game is super fun but I really wish i could see it more often, most of the ais either engine explode and they park safely on the side of the track, ir they just spin out/lockup with zero dmg, its very frustrating
@@emilybrooks4016 yeah, I get that they don’t want to frustrate players with too many safety cars because of AI but the way they just stick to the racing line and barely cause contact between one another kinda makes the game less exciting because it makes strategy with tyres so predictable, I’d love it if they crashed and it threw my strategy out of the window because it would make it more realistic, it would be annoying at the time but it would make the game better
About the Inmersive Pit and SC, they should take a page from the NASCAR games and add the pit/not pit under SC and pit menu instead of the AI taking over the strategy.
The AI in 21 were 100% a step in the right direction, they could be incredibly aggressive at times at defending depending on how you approached them and quick to slam right across and cut you off but then other times you could go from last to 10th in one massive dive bomb. I mainly wish the Ai had specific traits when defending or attacking, for example some of the higher rated drivers who are known to go for committed or audacious moves like Verstappen or Alonso would try and go round the outside and hold the line where no one else would even try it, or just throw one down the inside and just hope for the best. I also wish they were far more aggressive when defending for example being very quick to cut across to defend the inside and then purposely run deep into the corner when alongside you to square away the exit for you and prevent the undercut.
all A.I. mistakes are purely artificial it just needs to look more realistic and be at places where real mistakes can happen. not like spinning out at turn 4, which Hamilton did 3 times in my career mode.
I’ve found that in the final product the AI have permanent DRS. I’m playing on the exact same difficulty level as last year and as soon as the AI are on a straight they gain a half second at minimum on me. And the qualifying pace practice program on my team is ridiculous. I will be protected to qualify 22nd but in actual qualifying I will finish p1 with four tenths of breathing room easily.
I REALLY want the AI to spin, but make it realistic where they throw full lock asap but it's too late. A lot of these spins, the AI is barely steering into the slide. In real life losing the rear requires a snap of steer into the slide and even then most of the time it doesn't catch it.
It was the same in 2020, except the the race was a 50% race in mixed conditions (inter - Wet - inter - dry) and the ai was just useless in pit strategy. Tho so I was i in that race xD But my friend who is bad in any kind of rain, is generally slower than the me and always hits the walls in street tracks, managed to win the race just because he managed somehow to do that in a one stop strategy, when I did 4 as I tried to be clever and failing it twice.
I'm sold on an anxiously awaiting the new 22 release, mainly because of the addition of VR!! It's always a disappointment when major race tittles come out on PC without some kind of VR support. :) thanks devs!!!
Its cause the AI drive with a different handling model to the player and are given extra artificial grip. You can see this especially through copse and through maggots and beckets at silverstone on higher difficulties
You know the AI is very tricky, we just gotta adapt and make the game our own. I'm still learning. Great video bro and let's get you to that 100,000 subs, I subscribed
I wanna see them be more aggressive in mid corner fights. They should be more willing to push you off or more willing to maybe dip a wheel off the track to keep a position. Another thing could be that they add in escape roads so if you or an ai go off due to a lockup or to catch a spin you should have to take the escape road. I think this could be really cool seeing an ai catch a slide and have to go straight to take the escape road
what would be cool if for example albon was in the podium places he would defend more than if he was 19th, and if ai pick a fight with people within their skill range, like russell wouldn't deffend from max but would from someone like gasly or hamilton, so the race is more intresting and not a cakewalk from last to first.
The distance signs for the first corner were all messed up. It went from 100 to 50 to 150. Not that it would impact the driving but I hope they fix that.
What they need to do is fix the behaviour of the AI in the likes of a 2 player career. They become invincible, smack you in the rear or just chop you when you're alongside. You then spin, get a warning or a penalty for that. That's the main thing they need to fix. It was always a bit better on single player
i want the AI to attack more for certain drivers such as Verstappen and be more defensive like Hamilton idk if this is already in the game but i would like to see that
Yeah, the backing away part is the worst part for me and they were locking up or spinning way too much, which were the same two mistakes aswell. If they had a bunch of different types of mistakes it would feel so much better. Quali ai was also very bad in f1 2021, so that would be interesting, and there should be driver stats for tendency to make mistakes.

Alex, would love to see you deep dive into the manual pitstops. Does the turn in trigger on initial turn in or when a certain degree of steering is applied? What happens if you don't turn in at all? What's the seemingly best/worst pitstop you can achieve?
I think the immersive pit stops were actually broken in our build, so what you see in people's video is actually what happens when you don't do anything 😂
I think they make the AI back off easily so we're not getting rammed by AI all the time, I'm guessing it's pretty hard to code the AI to know when to back out or keep pushing.
Been playing after the last update. Only noticed the aggression of the ai today. They are super aggressive especially when they are overtaken. After nearly every overtake they try to take me out in revenge lol hardcore. I wonder if the rage quit as well lol
The AI in this game are some of the best I've ever seen in a racing game. They didn't brag about the AI at all yet they are making Forza and GT AI look like absolute dog shit. Both of those devs bragging about how their AI is the best AI and blah blah blah... Bullshit. The Forza AI is exactly the same unaware cheating bullshit it always has been. This AI in F1 22 feel like they are actually racing in real time. The AI isn't just following a set path... they actually acknowledge your existence and act as if they are in real time calculating race lines. Forza also feels like one AI controlling all the AI racers and as if it uses the cars not in the lead to troll the shit out of you. This feels like independent AI all using different tactics.
@@coollaadose Legit Forza AI drive on rails, don't have actual car stats, and don't obey the same physics restrictions you have to. They also completely ignore your existance, if you are on the race line and they are faster than you they will plow you right off and it is as if nothing touched their car while you go flying. The catch up mechanics are so broken cars can break time and space and if it just so happens to not realize it passed you than it will catch up mechanics you from behind and no matter what you do the gap will never shorten. Oh the joys of a BMW X5 absolutely destroying my Bugatti Divo in ways no human could ever drive the BMW X5 in the game.
@@coollaadose Oh, and the AI in Forza are all controlled by a Race Director AI which loves to use slower cars to keep you from ever getting close to the lead cars... suicide bombing you into oblivion and brake checking the fuck out of you to keep you from progressing. They will go 3 wide but not actually race eachother.. just stay 3 wide to artificially slow you down to make it "more challenging."
Drivatars are a bullshit lie and even if they pick up some characteristics from actual drivers.... there is obviously a single AI controlling the actions of all the AI. Oh, and let's not forget spawning traffic... not at random.. but in your line, on the apex of turns, blind corner exits right where your line is going to take you.. The Race Director AI tries everything to fuck you.
F1 2021 ai ruined the game, the number of times I play with friends and they get clipped from behind or they dive-bomb a corner, or simply just use a police maneuver to take you out... Most of the time my friends get bored of being clipped and stop playing. Hope they fix the ai this year.
the grip is complete bs wheelspining in 4th gear now while drivers irl are flat from 2nd gear i get that the game engine they use is arcady and very unrealistic and the only way to make a skill gap in this game is by how progressive you are on the throttle but if you ever drive an f1 car in asseto (a 3 euro racing sim) its impossible to go back to this childish game.Imo if ea is serious about this the following years f1 games will be made by kunos or some other studio that knows what theyre doing
The Power curves seem to be the main issue. It's like driving a supercharged 1000hp supra where it snaps. While an F1 car generally wouldn't snap on you if your smooth on the throttle
Hi Alex I wonder if you could help me with choosing a wheel for getting into sim racing well f1 really,I really want the realism and a realistic amount of force feedback I used a wheel many years ago and really wasn’t impressed with the lack of effort needed not real at all.

It's just annoying how u can easily predict every single move of em, it's just too easy
I think they make the AI back off easily so we're not getting rammed by AI all the time, I'm guessing it's pretty hard to code the AI to know when to back out or keep pushing.
I got f1 2021 as soon as it came out and I’ve played it for days in total and I’ve only ever had 2 AI spins
Analog clutch??? PLEASE say yes.
Great job by the way and may I ask, what brand of gloves are you wearing and where does one, find them at? Thank you and keep racing!!
Hope EA/Codies adjust the traction control its far too slippery
From Ben's Jeddah race you can see nothing is changed. The AI will still drive straight into crashed cars
So far not much improvement on the AI to be very honest.
Were you paid by EA to write such *** or is the AI in Forza / GT really even worse than the F1 22 AI?
@@BionicBurke Okay, that sound pretty bad and compared to that F1 22 AI seems to be heaven... but: Play F1 2020. After that you will hate the 22 AI :D
Typical EA tweaking very little of the sport experience but wanting to give you a RPG style.
porca miseria, f1 2021 sembra un gioco di 10 anni fa la grafica al confronto! 😍
What wheel / base you're using and settings wheel / in-game please?
"this is an early game" f1 2021 still feels that way and like how do cars lock up into T1 so dumb
From what I see there's still a lot of work to do: AI makes a lot of silly mistakes and back off in strange way...
Looks like, still no flat-spotting i.e. you can brake hard and burn rubber without real consequences..
flat spot will be the new big feature in f1 23 hahahahahah
Will they fix the noses of the cars? They all look the same
Yeah these are not final models
F1 2021 ai ruined the game, the number of times I play with friends and they get clipped from behind or they dive-bomb a corner, or simply just use a police maneuver to take you out... Most of the time my friends get bored of being clipped and stop playing. Hope they fix the ai this year.
the ai should not think ur not there on racing line
8:25 when you spin and cut the video. Yes I’m a Tiametmarduk fan no hate.
Awsome vid!
11:42 is what made me not want to buy this game for me. Always the same shit with different color
thy are the metre boards reversed in the first corner?
the grip is complete bs wheelspining in 4th gear now while drivers irl are flat from 2nd gear i get that the game engine they use is arcady and very unrealistic and the only way to make a skill gap in this game is by how progressive you are on the throttle but if you ever drive an f1 car in asseto (a 3 euro racing sim) its impossible to go back to this childish game.Imo if ea is serious about this the following years f1 games will be made by kunos or some other studio that knows what theyre doing
This is my main complaint about the F1 games the way traction works is so unrealistic compared to real life
The Power curves seem to be the main issue. It's like driving a supercharged 1000hp supra where it snaps. While an F1 car generally wouldn't snap on you if your smooth on the throttle
Cope and seethe
Looking forward to co op
Hi Alex I wonder if you could help me with choosing a wheel for getting into sim racing well f1 really,I really want the realism and a realistic amount of force feedback I used a wheel many years ago and really wasn’t impressed with the lack of effort needed not real at all.
Can you start from the pitlane?
I will make my own mind up thx!
They are going to give cars their real models and steering wheels right?
for even more realism thenjust remember if you are a sky q or sky glass customer then you can watch highlights alongside the race
😍I would love to have it
Should’ve just called this video largely similar to last year because that’s all you said😂 these new AI are 1 poorly located building away from being terrorists
Is that a trophy with whilton mill on it?
Why is there no difference in the sidepods?
It says work in progress at the top or the screen
@@connortremmel so, that means they are changing the sidepods soon?
@@iamraiyan111 yeah man just google it or watch some other videos man .... how can people be so lazy
Let the BUG FEST begin 😂
Didn’t leave Fernando any space, should’ve been a penalty
It looks like you lost that when coming out of the pit on hards 😂
I find project cars 1 had the best ai of any modern racing game as you were able to force them to make mistakes. the f1 series is still too predictable especially after the first two laps causing them to form a train. I skipped out on f12021. I have high hopes for this one.
2021 engine sounds tho
AI are same and boring when it comes to wheel to wheel racing easy to pass.
You’re crashing to other cars that gain position. That’s CHEAP
Last year spins were scripted, if I made a crucial mistake and restarted a race I can guarantee lando norris spins lap 24 or whatever of that race
What's changed - they added a stupid house and clothing....... that's it 😂
You a phone game so good and exciting upgraded Spanish Grand Prix so nice what do you think
LASHIER
alex over crofty? pffft 🤦♂️😂
F1 21.5
Ai Is stupid top in this game...aahhhh, there Will be so manu years until the ai start ti become decent
The ai are terrible let’s be honest they just back out everywhere
i want ai to get penalty
Red flag?
no word on it yet
safe no because they would mention it
