Hey, what size did you get for your 200? the large is too big for my 220 sump and the medium looks like will fit but doesn't look the same on other side that you took off to add 2nd drain...
first i bought clarisea sk5000 and it was such a mess. Then I bought Bubble Magus... and I must say I do not regret .This is such a good product! Lovin' It!
Hey I've been running clarisea for a few years but I'm thinking of changing to the bubble magus. What do you like more about the BM? What's changing the rolls like compared to clarisea? Because they are a pain to change.
@@raz1887 bUble magus is very good ... I use staples to change fleece , but if you want it even easier I recommend checking out Theiling rollermat ,very easy to replace fleece.
@@rotas5s5 awesome I'll check it out. Yeah I use staples to change clarisea rolls it's just a pain because it's too much trouble to pull the whole unit out of the sump to do it so I do it while still in the sump. My LFS stocks bubble magus and the rolls whereas I have to order clarisea ones online. I do get about 3 months out of a roll tho which I like and I see the BM rolls are a lot smaller. Just weighing up the pros and cons. Thanks!
The replacement filter fleece costs $15-$20 per roll depending on who you get it from and if it's on sale. I stocked up on rolls during Black Friday so I'm set for about a year.
Does it need to be hung?? Can’t it be kept ok the floor of the sump?? And what’s the minimum or maximum water level it requires or should have for it for work??
What The Frag sounds good I am in the market trying to make my decision should I go with the Aquamaxx F1, ClariSea SK5000 and now watching your video Bubble Magus so want to see what route I need to go..
Do you have a bubbling issue in the clear tube inside the unit where the water passes through? I seem to have a lot of bubbling sound and I can’t seem to figure it how to silence it.
i have a problem with mine with big rolls it jams up with the motor roller it lacks space in between rolls. it keeps going but you can hear the stress on on the motor
On the smell issue: Do you use AC in the room where your tank lives? I worry that 2 months of detritus build up in a warm, non-AC room would give off a strong aroma in the summer.
Check out the innovitech x filter. It has a "basket" for better of words and you literally drop 2 downpipes into it. No hard plumbing required to the unit.
Strange. My roll is done after 2 week and its not dirty at all. I think something is wrong. Sensor is in the highest position. Maybe the device sits to low or to high in my sump. 🤯
i'm going to the buy roller i ran into the same situation. can you please send me info on diy for roller mat please. i'm plan on ordering it today. Thank you for your time.
There's not much to the DIY, literally all you have to do is drill a hole for the desired pipe size then just run a pipe and elbow into the hole. I cut the provided flexible hose in half so it matched on both sides.
What is your return pump rated and what GPH you think your running it at? I have a 150g tank and haven't pulled the trigger because it seems like all the roller filters are under rated for the amount of return flow I'm running.
I’ve been thinking of grabbing one of these for a while now.. May have to pull the trigger! Tank looks great!
Thanks! Yeah, looking back I wish I would have got the roller mat sooner.
Good to know! Thanks
Nice video and review. Have been thinking of using a filter roller in my sump. Changing and cleaning filter socks just suck :)
Thanks! Yeah, I really hated cleaning filter socks and I was always worried that a small amount of bleach might make it back into the main display.
Thanks for the video. Definitely getting one of these with my new setup.
Good idea on dual overflow. I was just thinking of buying 2 of them lol.
Reef_and_mordie from Instagram here, dude. Great video. I have been thinking about getting one of these in the future!
Thanks! Yeah, hands down the best purchase I've made for my tank next to the Apex. I will never setup a tank without one in the future.
Freaking awesome dude. Was looking to go that same route. Thanks!
instant sub after the MK intro..

I like this definitely will consider getting one of these. Cool video.
Thank you, yeah I'm definitely happy with the fixture...just more happy now after these mods

Good Video man... I would have to cut apart my sump to make this work in my system. I have been looking at DI-4 DROP-IN FLEECE FILTER SYSTEM too
Thanks, yeah I couldn't imagine ever going back to filter socks now that I've been spoiled by my roller mat.
Hi does the Red Sea fleece have water resistance like the Clarissa fleece? Thanks
Cool product. Don’t think it would fit in my sump. Can you wash the material? How much is a new roll?

Ideally the water level should be about 2-3" from the bottom of the unit which would require hanging for just about every sump I've seen.

Thanks for the video. I wonder how long 1 roll last?

Question- motor can be switched to the opposite side, right? Well, you can but the motor will unwind the roll.
great idea on the dual return. How much width does it take up with both elbows ? I have 12" x 8" to work with.
I just bought one of these how to put a new roll without taking it all apart?
Staple the new roll to the old roll and wind it threw on to the cardboard roll
If only I had a sump... one day maybe
good idea gave me options thanx =)
Got mine just going to install it.
Does this set in you sump or hang on the side
Just got one and water doesn't flow thru the fleece, it permiates. Not to sure about the fleece
How far up the filter does the water level need to be?
how many gallons per hour can you push through it?
On the smell issue: Do you use AC in the room where your tank lives? I worry that 2 months of detritus build up in a warm, non-AC room would give off a strong aroma in the summer.
What was the glue you used to bond acrylic with pvc elbow?
What size BM filter roller is this? Medium?
How high is the float valve from the water level?
Do you have overflow from skimmer running into roller filter? If so how is that working out?
How big of a chamber in the sump do you need for this? I can't find much for details anywhere. Thanks
Did you only connect the overflow line to the roller mat or did you also connect the emergency line?!
I have 2 overflow lines running to the roller mat. I have 2 return lines but I used one of those for an emergency overflow.
Do you think this would eliminate the need for a skimmer
No, a skimmer is a big benefit when it comes to keeping PH up. I don't think I would ever go skimmerless.

Yeah I wish it was available here in the United States, it looks like a good option.

How long is your filter paper lasting?
This most recent one lasted 2.5 months.
Besides price, what how do you think it compares to the Theiling Compact? Take up less or more room? Build quality ect

I have a COR20, it does up to 2000 GPH but I run it at 70% with about a 4.5 foor head height.
What is your flow rate going through your tank for Dual Overflows? Is the AFR-1 capable of handling full flow or did you have to adjust it at all?
I run my COR20 pump at 70%
What is the cloth micron ?
😎👍
How long does your mat last for between changes? How often do you feed? Great video :)
About 6 weeks
Mine rolls filter like every 10 min...doesn't seem like roll will last a week
Don’t quite know what you meant by “ clamp it to a piece of wood”. Clamp what? …to a piece of wood. Thx nice vid
He clamped the end cap to a piece of wood when he modified it when drilling a hole
👀👀👀👀😺😺😺👀👀👀👀
Are there built in alarms on this?
