I’ve been debating whether to get a Htc Vive or a quest, the games look amazing but vrchat is the one thing that will sale me on it. I just want to know since the link is coming out will you be able to see pc vrchat users or no?
Yeah, with the cable steam recognize the quest as a rift S so you can see all the avatars
Any USB C or just USB C port on rtx cards or either? Should be any but would like a little more details.
I still love my Oculus Go. : )
Oculus Go is brilliant, a good reminder that VR isn't just for gamers.
Will any common usb c charging cord work? What about the cord that came with the Quest
No it wouldn't and the cable is gonna cost something like 80$
lava hawk I may be late, but now you can connect your charging cable to your quest and link works just fine
But why should I get a quest because of the rift s poor performance on my Alienware graphics amplifier with a 1070 and the connection to my laptop is a custom pcie port? My WMR performs better then a rift s in games but the tracking is worse.
next updat
We are happy to announce Rift S is no longer supported on oculus store
crowd : yaay
lmfao!!!
Just had a thought as I use a battery pack for longer VR use. Does the Link cable allow charging too? If not will battery life improve connected to a PC?
Yes, it will charge through the cable.
Yes, facebooks cable will. If you buy a cheaper one it may not.
It will probably send both power and data (encoded video) through the USB-C cable.
If I don’t have a Rift S and use oculus link, will I still be able to play Rift S games?
Yes it should. The Oculus link should also work on steam.
Well this explains why they demanded virtual desktop to remove there linkage.
Well its nice that they advertise and perfekt it, but dont like them prevention of inovation.
I am actually really hyped for this
Instead of using a USB-C to USB-C cable in the 3.0 interface, could i use a USB-A to USB-C in the 3.0 interface? (i don't have any type C ports on my computer)
Top bad
Get a USB C PCI-E card, its easy to install.
Will you be able to plug the Link cable into any graphics card? With my GTX 1060 it has HDMI, for instance. Would I be able to use a HDMI to USB C adapter? Thanks for any ideas!
You Plug the Quest into a 3.0 USB Port not into the graphics Card.
DasBananenauto I really appreciate you clarifying this point. Thanks! Do you know if the Link will be able to stream Steam games also or just Oculus App stuff?
@@tyfude they announced to support Steam VR too
DasBananenauto That is awesome. Thanks for clarifying. Thanks for you time answering my questions!
@@tyfude you're welcome :)
I wonder if the price of the rift will be dropped.
so can u connect to a computer and use steam vr? if yes awesome
Enfasis Animations yes my friend
my sound is on silent but are they saying that if you connect ur oculus to ur pc you can just play steam games
YAY! It's No Link November!
so will the pc run the games or will the quest run the games. or will it be split to both
13:50 Freedom is for a Good VR experience and they thing about removing Virtual Desktop VR Streaming. I DONT GET IT
I wonder if Oculus link will work with my $800 laptop?
@@TitaniumBaguette ye
When will the cable be available?
How do you even connect this to a gpu that doesn't have a usb-c port? Do you just hook it up to the port on your mobo (if it has one)?
You just need a 3.0 USB c port somewhere on the computer. You can get a USB A 3.0 to USB C converter. As long as it's short, it shouldn't effect the quality
Are there any of these converters that will do better than others?
@@owendehm1586 probably that's why I'm gonna wait a bit on this since my computer doesn't have a USB c port I want to know what adapter to get
@@mageenderman same
I haven’t seen anyone ask this yet nor have I finished watching the video so don’t judge me😂 But would this work for a Laptop cause I don’t wanna buy another PC..
Download steam and get SteamVR Performance Test once steam is installed, it'll tell you how games will run. If it's a newish laptop more than likely would handle it, but as for good-best graphics will definitely need desktop.
Probably not unless its a gaming laptop and even still might be difficult. A good VR experience generally require 8gbs of Ram and a Nvidia GTX 1070 or higher/equivalent with a decent processor to boot
Looks like i was right to buy the Quest then.
Will you be able to play third party games and steam vr with this on a quest?
BaerliderFuchs Probably. With a Oculus Cable Link and Side Quest it is very possible.
Hi, remember us rift owners... we would like a cable too... please dont forget us.
GeorgeTav77 cable for what?
GeorgeTav77 you can already connect to pc
Rift 2 is probably in the works, don't worry
as hinted by their discussion of the Half -life- dome prototypes.
@@mattman6886 broken rift cables. My 14 month old rift is trash because the cable broke and oculus wont even let me buy a replacement.
Unity Editor preview on the Quest, thank you!
For rift s?
I bought it a month ago and now this?
Hand tracking for rift s. PLEASE.
Nah man they ain't doing dat word on the street is that it's only on quest
You should’ve bought the quest than that
yonatan abergel I also own a rift s but it’s highly unlikely we will be receiving hand tracking. ( not receiving anytime soon anyway) from what I’ve heard it has something to do with black and white cameras and there only being 2 in front on the rift s. I’m not buying it though. I think they can easily add hand tracking to the rift s but we will have to see how it turns out
Wait will the headset do the processing or your pc, and will it be steamvr compatible?
Dalaxrky you can play the same games as on the rift or rift s, so steamvr is compatible.
can't we just buy a normal 16ft usb c cable?
Lol nice point but i think the cable was designed especially for the headset soooo. It probably wont work with an ordinary c usb cable
