Daiwa Tatula First Impressions! (Better than Shimano Curado?)

In this video I unbox a brand new Daiwa Tatula 150 HS and then take it fall bass fishing! I do a Daiwa Tatula Review and compare it to the shimano curado K. I test how far this baitcast reel can cast, and how smooth it is! November bass fishing is going to fun with this new reel! I give my opinion on the reel at the end of the video!

Screeching happened on mine as well in the beginning. Daiwas are notorious for coming a little dry from the factory. Added proper oil and grease and its smooth as butter.
Yeah I added some oil to mine and now it’s way better
What kind of oil and grease did you use and where on the reel do you guys lube? I was casting a half ounce far with no issue but it was noisey. I want to stick with this reel and have it last so leaving it dry isn’t the way for me

@@mhkangler So I’m assuming you oiled where the spool shaft and greased the gears? should be easy but I hate taking reels apart
You don't have to adjust spool tension on the Diawa reels. It's preset from the factory and can just be left alone (that's why its so tight) - they call it a 'zero adjuster' and I think they are the only brand that does it.
All adjustment should be done on the brake knob
How do you like it after some use? I have a Curado dc, a few lews
and a few others. Never tried a Diawa
so thinking about adding one next, in a 6
something gear ratio.
I’ve just got it in the mail and took the boat out saltwater bass fishing for calico and sand bass. One of the smoothest reels I’ve ever used besides my buddies Shimano bantam. Holds us real nice and looks amazing. Daiwa has been one of my favorites for years and I recommend you try one out.
I need it to make a unique sound when casting like my Shimano does

I’ve been using daiwa, abu and shimano for sw. Personally i think abu is the most durable for sw. But between daiwa and shimano i like daiwa more. Less birdnest and easy to use. I also use dc reel from shimano but i prefer more control than using chip.
I just got a curado 201, and I love my daiwa cc80, a 60$ reel, a lot better. I'm switching from all PENN and Shimano to daiwa. Their rods are so much better for the inshore fishing I do.
I haven’t tried their rods, but I have the CC80. It’s an amazing reel for its price! I think they have gone up to $70 now
Welcome to the dark side, we have cookies lol. Daiwa makes the best baitcasters hands down. The braking system is second to none.
Enjoyed the review. Very detailed. I love the Rapala lipless baits. Especially in the fall. Stop and go has always worked well for me.

The Curado does have a breaking system on it though? You don’t have to pop it out. Look right on the top left it’s hiding behind. But it’s hard comparing Diawa and Shimano they’re both really good when it comes down to Reels.
Are you talking about the spool tension knob?
No so if you have a right side handle Curado, look on the left side where the open and close switch is and right above it is the brake system. You don’t need to open it everytime and mess with it.

Usually, diawa reels are under greased. And shimano are over greased. Might just need to add more grease
You set the spool tension wrong… all you have to do it tighten it till the spool don’t move side to side.
Diawa Tatula's spool tension is preset from the factory and you should never have to adjust that knob at all. They call it a zero adjuster
Diawa reels come completely dry unfortunately. Once you add oil they are amazing baitcasters that in my opinion doesnt give me half the backlash of the Curado!!!

"Similar price point to a Curado" Really? Up here in Canada the Tatula is quite a bit cheaper than the Curado.

It was straight out of the package though! You could be right, but I would expect better from Daiwa
