    The left speaker is out of order, and since the warranty period from the store has expired, I wrote to the manufacturer's support service. In general, I expected to be able to order a left ear from them. But the manufacturer politely vouched to repair it, and asked to send the IEM. And so, just like that, they returned the working IEM, although they had no warranty obligations. I am very pleasantly surprised by this service.

    Great review. This and some of your other reviews led me to order the OH10, the Timeless and the Moondrop Kato. It did not take too long to put two IEMs back in the boxes and return them. (all the impressions below are just my opinions - subjectivity is king here).
    1) The Timeless was a bad fit for me, but even when I 'ensured' the fit to ensure a good seal, I disliked the tonality. There was bass but it lacked realism, the mids were detailed but had no soul, the high end was OK but grainy.
    2) The Kato was better, beautifully built and a decent sound - but came over as thinner and less emotionally involving than the OH10 Obsidian.
    3) The OH10 Obsidian was a surprise. I was expecting bass-heavy, warm and maybe 'cloying' from some reviewers descriptions. But no. They have a bottom end that can gum-up, but mostly they are simply lovely. They have plenty of detail and resolution but, unlike the other two here, they don't shove it in your face.
    I love these IEMs. They fit well (heavy but I don't feel them) and sonically they remind me of my old Sennheisser HD600s - a staggering achievement I think for a $200 in-ear device.
    I'm still re-listening to all my favorite Jazz and Accoustic tracks - that's a what a music reproduction devoice should achieve. It may not be rapture, but its close enough.
    Btw, I'm playing them through a little FIIO BTR5 and its clean, bright and powerful. The OH10s sound even nicer through my Schiit Asgard 3, so they really scale. I'm still grinning!!

    I have compared the OH10 to several IEMs costing way more (ThieAudio Oracle, Moondrop Blessing 2 & Kato, Fiio FH5), and these guys have bested them, IMO. The OH10 just has so much energy and power. not laid back at all. The sub-bass, as you covered, does not muddy up anything above it. I have gotten use to the weight, and does not limit time I can listen to them. The cable is NOT that good. I am using cable the volume and phone/DAP controls because I sleep with these as well.

      i got my kato due to the hype recently but quickly find myself into the bass game, the fun game.
      after little more digging, oh10 is the one on my target list.
      now one week in with the oh10, i can safely say it replaces my kato fully.
      i do not have all the other IEM you mentioned, so only compare to kato. The bass of oh10 is just breath-taking powerful, and fun.
      what surprised me is the kato does have punchy bass, but it just doesnt have the rumble nor the air movement. Kato has good bass, it is fast, well defined, nothing wrong with it, i might think Kato would suit most ppl due to the overall tonality.
      but man oh10 is just a keeper forever.

    I have been using this IEM for a couple months at this point. From my experience, they do have some pretty significant problems. For example, their cable connection has no snap action and even though it feels relatively firm if you just pull it, but over time it sometimes just becomes more and more loose and then just eventually disconnects. I almost lost an earpiece twice because of that. Cable is incredibly thin for such heavy earpieces and it almost feels designed to be as tangly as possible beacause it acts as a bola weapon. Eartips feel like they should be more secure than they are as they do work their way out of my ears eventually, especially when I'm running. Also you can't immediately see it, but that glossiness comes from a plastic film covering eartip body and that film just peels off over time.

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  4 года назад +4

      The plastic layer is a protective layer for the packaging, don't think it's intended to be left on (I took mine off immediately). Don't disagree about the thin cable + weight of the IEMs, I ended up putting them on a heavier duty cable and I think it improves the handling. Still wouldn't go running with them 😅

    • @Alexander_Sannikov
      @Alexander_Sannikov 4 года назад

      @@SuperReview nah, i'm not talking about that plastic cover similar to what phone screens have. i'm taking about a very thin layer of plastic around the entire unit that's fused with its surface and you cant see it until it starts peeling off. for me it started peeling off first around the ear nozzle on the inside where it touched skin.
      you also definitely have a different ear shape and it sits more organically in your ear than in mine.

    • @Alexander_Sannikov
      @Alexander_Sannikov 3 года назад

      @Manny Cracker Since then, the right ear piece practically stopped working entirely. The first cable has become brittle after half a year of use and snapped. By the way, I kept that cable for whatever reason and now it has become so brittle that it basically snaps wherever I bend it. So I bought another cable and that one has started failing too.
      The connection of the cable to the earpieces has become loose over time and since it has no snap action, ear pieces started routinely detaching themselves.

OH10 is still big fun for me and very good and it is a tough call due to the lower price tag. According to me, so far, B2 Dusk is well competed on the clarity only by Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 but the highs of the JVC might be trouble for someone (bass is less but good, but highs are far more forward) but you may get it at $200 from Drop and you have 3 tuning filters (read the Crinacle review on then, and he tuned the Dusk!).

      Thank you, I already own the OH10. Dusk as well as the default Blessing 2 (wanted these badly) were out of my budget at the time, and I've got Ikko for ~150$ thanks to the Black Friday discount. Actually, I was aiming for the Tansio Mirai 3 Pro but it ended up just above my budget even with a discount and I just had no patience left - they were to become my first IEMs. Still somewhat regretful over not stretching out for the TSMR 3 Pro's.
      I'm aware that Crin was responsible for the Dusk's tuning and I seem to like his IEF target, especially its modification (practical implementation) in the tuning of the Fearless x Crinacle Dawn. Damn, those must be amazing. I've had a little taste of it with the help of some pretty sophisticated EQ-ing and my OH10s. Dusk's tuning while having differently done upper mids still looks very good, apart from the hights. They have a pretty dramatic notch somewhere around the 10 kHz area and by looking at the FR graph I find it somewhat confusing. Of course, it's all about the balance, but that notch is straight up huge. I'd like to hear how it actually sounds very much, though.

    Do these sound similar to the KZ ZS10 Pro? I just used crinacle's Graph Comparison Tool and put the frequency responses on top of each other and they are eerily similar except the ZS10 Pro dips more in the lower treble range. The curves are nearly identical elsewhere.

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  5 лет назад +1

      I didn't compare head to head, but based on memory there's some similarity in general tonality -- strong bass, lean lower mids, upper midrange lift. But to my ear, OH10 is a bit darker sound -- I see the graph comparison and yeah the treble looks identical, but in practice I think the OH10 treble is more relaxed, far from being sibilant while I found the ZS10 Pro a bit sharp and sibilant.

    Do you ever feel that your narrative subtly changes over time in regards to your IEM recommendations? With so much constant pressure to give 1-2 sentence snapshot reviews to RUclips commenters, like your subscribers down below, you must inevitably simplify the rankings or gloss over minor details over time. With that in mind, how much do you feel your narrative is altered by that, if at all?
    In other words, are your recommendations on IEMs subconsciously influenced by the need to give extremely brief thoughts to your comment section?

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  2 года назад +2

      Mm, I don't think the brevity of comments is the most significant influence on recommendations. Biggest challenge is that questions generally draw a box within which the the questioner wants an answer, and often the box is either (a) not clearly described, or (b) outside of how I understand and recommend audio products. For example, someone says "I want an upgrade from X," I have no idea what they like about X and what they wish was improved, and where they're willing to make tradeoffs, etc. Or someone says, "Which DAP has the best soundstage?" and I'm like, soundstage is not a thing I attribute to DAPs.
      In my reviews, I can describe a thing as I understand it without these does-not-compute, glitch-inducing hangups, and try to put it into language that hopefully means something to people watching.

The only negative thing I've heard about them is they're heavy. Outside of that, they seem to have everything. They look NICE, as well. I will not be removing the plastic off of them. Don't like to deal with fingerprints.

      Curious to hear how you like them when you get 'em.

      @@SuperReview I got them, today. I'd say the sound is full, meaning It has EVERY element of sound that I'd want in an earphone, as you mentioned. Also, the weight of these do not bother me, either. They sit in my ears, quite nicely. I tried the included eartips. Sounded good. I had a spare pair of RHA Dual Density. I might try my Dakoni Bulletz, as well. Is there a difference between the included eartips of the OH10 other than color? It's funny, before getting these, I was thinking of getting the OH1 or the Simgot EN700.

      @@francisravi7651 Lol GREAT! I have a few IEMs, but I make sure I get around to using them. This past year, I bought the iBasso IT01. Those are REALLY good. In December, I bought the Tin T3 Plus. A month ago, I bought the Fiio A3. Very small, but packs a punch in enhancing the sound of your sound devices.

      I like it quite a bit better, yeah. More extended treble and smoother midrange.

      probs too late but i had the displeasure of owning a t20i, subbass channel imbalance out the box, self-destructive fat rubbery cables, ok driver technically, but tuned real bad imo, extremely harsh 4k peak jumping out even more because of rolled off high-treble, just a headache both physically and sonically

    (John 14:6) Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but my me."
    Repent and turn to Christ Jesus before it is too late. For after this comes the JUDGMENT. Christ died for your sins and rose on the third day, showing that anyone who trusts in him for salvation, will have everlasting life.
    (John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
