  • I knew these things would be "mini," but... WOW. Alright, so the Rose Mini2 MKII is a verifiably tiny in ear monitor. Does it sound good? How's it to live with? And how's it compare to my current favorite ~$100 IEM, the Fiio FA1? Let's dig in.
    See the Rose Mini2 MKII at AliExpress: www.aliexpress...

    Being a former motorcyclist, I wouldn't recommend riding with headphones. Hearing things around you is absolutely important to rider safety. However, I really like the idea that these might work for listening to music while lying down on a pillow. My current IEMs are too big for that and I've been looking for a decent pair of IEMs that would block out noise and also let me drift off to music without disturbing anyone else. As an alternative to the motorcyclist recommendation, being able to wear these under safety hearing protection (mowing the lawn, possibly gun range) might be nice. Great review!

    As someone else mentioned these would be perfect under earmuffs when mowing the lawn. I use Massdrop EDCs for that ATM, with foams to stop them losing seal, but I hate the “feel” of foam eartips.

    I am considering these rose mk2's or the Sennheiser ie 40's. I would go with the rose but you mentioned a problem with the left ear, and since this is a fairly new product without any reviews, I am worried that these aren't too durable compared to the Sennheiser... @@SuperReview the vocals seems a bit backwards and more of a U shaped setup. The treble is quite harsh for my liking, and bass is what u expect in an all BA setup. Instrument separation is average, soundstage is small. Detail retrieval seems gud, but could be placebo due to sharp treble. Still haven't found the purpose of these in my collection. They are extremely comfortable for long wearing but not listening. I can only use them for Vocal only recording like podcasts, audible books and some youtube videos. For music its a no go for me. I wanted to do tip rolling but the size of the nozzle doesn't help. Mostly would settle in with a BT cable and call it a day. Is it worth the Price ? I don't think so. May be with the right EQ these might shine but not out of the box

    • @SuperReview

      I honestly find these more enjoyable than ER4XR, more depth to the sound. I wouldn't say these are more "accurate," though.

      @@SuperReview I saw a disclaimer right before buying that it's not recommended with smart phones. But since LG has the quad dac and a stronger amp, I figured it would be just like using a dap with these. Originally I was considering the tin t3s or these rose mini 2 mk2

    From what you're saying its an appealing earphone for its size and performance, however... (imo) It's soooooooo ugly.
    The cable and shell don't compliment each other , and as for the colour, I'm personally not a fan of the mono pee-stain colour. It's a shame the prior generations design wasn't carried over.

      Different strokes -- I think they look pretty dope 👍

    • @jlc38
      @jlc38 5 лет назад

      I was thinking the same thing. Why pee green? Black would be great. And the cable is OK but ear hooks would be a plus.
      I'm always puzzled when a IEM that is so small still has bass. My theory has always been, the bigger the driver the bigger the bass. But I guess I've been wrong all these years. (I'm really old)

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  5 лет назад

      Jeff Collins I wonder if the smaller housing allows a smaller driver to create more bass than it would in a larger housing. Or maybe it’s unrelated. Not that these have huge bass, but it’s very nicely done.

      @The Narrator...Aliexpress has a great selection of Chifi iems. Just search the brands or models. Prices are usually very reasonable from a variety of sellers and many use the Aliexpress Standard Shipping, which is often free, and there's usually no extra custom or import charges. It takes about 2-3 weeks to get to you, but if you have patience, you can save alot of money.
