I was like, "oh, another cool animation about rain world', but then lift scene happened and blow my mind, this is on another level
One thing I like about rain world is that the sheer size, separation, and mystery of its world makes the creative works from fans feel like they could have taken place in the story. Like they don’t feel like AU’s or fanfiction, they feel more like looking at a different part of the world and seeing what’s going on there.

Everytime im reminded that iterators can hold cities on their backs with room to spare i am amazed all over again.
I was absolutely ENTHRALLED by this, had no clue what I was watching going into it, but the amount of story I could gather just from the environment and atmosphere alone was INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Edit: I know it's rainworld, I just didn't know the story behind the scug/iterator/DLL is all!

The title implies the iterator's conciousness is dead but it's "subconscious" still remains functional due to the sapient rot cyst.
It might seem so simple, but I love imagery of Giant, truly spectacularly huge infrastructure. Seeing a crane lift what’s essentially a mountain, or the sky light up from a forge in the distance with so much power it’s like ten thousand lightening bolts in each hammer swing, is a sight to behold..
Oh god please be okay little guy, do not die out there, I cannot take anymore heartbreak with you.
It's wonderful seeing the story enfolding into something mysterious and exciting, little shi xuan is out to look for some answers and I am here for it!

i can only presume this whole trip was through a long gone and completely demolished and rot infested iterator whose decaying corpse seems to be still functioning maybe being held togheter and controlled by the former rot for whatever silly purpouses it may have it does seem to be constructing something? not to mention the odd little slugcat completely stitched up, perhaps it is the product of the work of the dead iterator now leaving it's creator behind to find something.. a home? friends? food? more iterators? damn this whole animation is such a masterpiece good work!
edit: i did not read the description at first my apologies, but this does seem like an interesting story i'd love to see more

I remember seeing a video with slugbot singing to a DLL a good while ago. This reminded me of it, and lo and behold, it's by the same person! And apparently there was a comic??? It's really cool to see that you're still continuing with it, and the improvements in animation are astounding.
I'm going to read the comic now. I'm sure it'll be great!
The comic was certainly interesting, definitely got the depressing Rain World vibe with the glimmer of hope. Seeing the dream sequence with (Shi?) Xuan explaining why they did it was heart breaking. The only thing I'm confused about is Polaroid, did they actually visit Yuki with their puppet, and if they did, how (probably something with the neurons)?
God. That must be depressing. Being an iterator built to specialize in industry, and with no ancients to build stuff for, its just like... left there. No wonder homie ended up being a pile of rot.

This is absolutely outstanding, it's drawn in such a way that you can really tell how MASSIVE everything is and how infinitesimal this little slugpup is in the middle of it all

this scug could make for an epic campaign if pulled off right. functional elevators tho. now thats interesting, i def could imagine one or 2 of the legs of iterators containing elevator shafts with elevators for the ancients.
and other legs having cargo lifts.
even if i haven't read the comic i adore this little world SO MUCH, still keeps basic elements of rain world but hooooogh. love the absolute scale of the world, keep it up!
