I'm a bit curious as to how the Kiv's got to earth in the first place.
Seeing the characters all animated together, how they all have their own body language and how their personalities are hinted at through subtle expressions. It’s nothing short of incredible 🥰
Lets just hope people remember that despite the Kiv's anatomical appeal, they're simply humanoid, but far from human in function.
And though they are inhuman they are absolutely mesmerizing

From a disgruntled guy telling his other-worldly housemates that they’ve killed his Henry vacuum cleaner to this and an incredible book (which I need to get if life decides to give me some spare cash). I’ve absolutely loved seeing this development. And yes, despite the nature of the Kivouach, James is indeed still the most disturbing…

Seeing all the characters together at the Vamabaya Gala animated is so surreal yet incredible!
Is this a chapter or event in the book?
Yes. A rather plot important one too. The Vamabalya Gala celebrates the Kivouachian New Year basically.
@@ramonlujan2377 The Gala happens in the last fifth of the book and is a moment where most if not all the introduced characters converge to the same place.
Methusa and Locket at “Life and Death” was PERFECT, representing their own views on material lives

It's great to see a bunch of the characters finally animated like Methusa Wiley and Sylvia. Needless to say once again Sam never disappoints!
I screamed when I saw Sylvia. And my lad Bartholomeus.

The human tongue cannot formulate the proper words to describe just how tantalizingly mesmerizing these animations, characters, and designs are. Beyond stellar work! ♥
Imagine asking someone to guess who the villain is lol
(wait who is the villain actually? I'm stuck between Locket and Gatsby but Gatsby turns out to be kind and locket does feel genuine remorse for what happened to Methusa, as well as the fact that we've seen characters we like do worse things than locket did sooo...)

@jacobdoswalt Considering that Locket's harsh views do still ring true, I lean more towards Methusa being the villain, at least in the most barebones of terms. Her goals seem noble but mean societal stagnation, ultimately breeding extinction. Though given how many conflicting interests and viewpoints there are in the story, I think it's more apt to say that there is no set "bad guy". Just a bunch of intelligent animals acting in their own best interests and beliefs. Some moreso than others. Lucy is out for survival, Methusa believes eliminating ill from the world is noble, Locket seeks the strengthening of the Kivouackian race, Celia is trying to understand her own mind, etc etc.
@jacobdoswalt I think it's more of conflicting philosophies than "good" or "bad" people

Dorothy: “Fennah. Do you like him?”
Locket: “He entertains the senses and dulls the pain. I’d like another.”

This is like the best trailer nontrailer for a book I've seen. There's characters and scenes that tell a story but you won't know what that story says until you read the book. Only then will the pieces click into place and That is how you draw people in.
I really hope we get to see more animations that are adapted straight from the book in the future. I'd love to see Sam animate the conversations between Lucy and Teazzer, Bazzil and Ludwig at the tailor shop in Liverton.
It seems to be, month ago he mad epolls on the youtube community to know in which order we want to see some scene he suggested ^^

I just want to thank you publicly for putting the effort into all these models. Your designs are pretty... Out there (in the good way!) and even with your detailed descriptions, I would say they would be rather difficult to properly visualize. Being able to hear a description of the character, and then see them at the chapters end is such a helpful thing for a book such as yours, it was a great choice!
what I like is how thicc the femmes are
I think Celia has my favorite design out of all of them. The stars that are revealed when she's in shadow just looks amazing.
Anyone who still hasn't leapt to read Amygdala is missing out!! IT was one of the coolest books I've ever read and I am SO HYPED for book 2, I can hardly wait! The wait for this animation was also very anticipated. Thanks for everything you do, Fennah!

finished amygdala in four days. only one word can describe you’re work sam: incredible! truly felt like i was in the kivvac world and apart of your characters. the monologues from each character were truly out of this world.

I can't believe how much the characters have changed both physically and personally wise. I have been watching Fennah's beautiful creations since Satilite City. A good example would be between Satilite City Helgan and Amygdala Helgan. I am a bit sad that the stuff in Satilte City is not Canon, but I am happy it gave birth to birth to a amazing book.
Seeing how you started with Satellite City and ending the year with this masterpiece is the biggest accomplishment I’m trying to reach. It’s so inspiring and beautiful! The book is very engaging and if this doesn’t encourage you to read it, idk what will lol
Likely very late now, but oh, my, stars. The song, the characters, the concept. Everything. It all ties so well. All and every character so detailed and lovely designed.. I most certainly will be getting a book any chance I can. I'm excited! (This animation is so lovely)
Lockette and methusa together at "life and death" is so clever when you've read the book (definitely get it if you havent already!!)
Coming back to this channel and seeing that this silly little series of a disgruntled man yellin at his older than dirt roommates and finding out that the book has been finished is such a trip. I remember way back during 2019 when the amino was still a thing and then bein a part of the discord and all that jazz. Fun times for sure.

I've been following this channel for 5 years and have always been fascinated with the totally unique character designs. This has been a wild ride and I don't plan on getting off any time soon. One day i hope I'll get the chance to buy and read the book but for now, seeing these characters unveiled in these animations with no prior knowledge is also incredibly fun because I never know what to expect. Helgan has been one of my favorites in terms of design changes ❤
It will definitely be worth the wait, and the money. I myself have read the book dozens of times already, and am not exaggerating.
It is about 1000 pages, and each one holds hidden details, unique interactions and descriptions beyond expectation.

Honestly as a fan of Horror, this world building and characters are by far the best examples as to why Art truly is something only us Humans can create
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The Vamabaya Gala was always my favorite part of the book and seeing this makes it my all time favorite. See how when some of the characters walked or danced it was to the beat of the song. Seeing the entire cast like Oliver, Rodger, Wyley, Silvia, Sombra, Winifred, Thallius, etc was amazing. I was watching the entire time pointing out all the characters I knew. The circling with Methusa and Locket as “life and death” was hands down my favorite part. This animation did not miss one single detail. Amazing work again!!🫶✨
I JUST finished the masquerade part and am so proud to actually know and recognize most of these characters! Super excited to finish the books and even more hyped to see the second!!!!

Just ...Damn, Wow!!! Your pantheon of ancient divinity is sublime.... they communicate through touch, through scent, through movements and dance where a single flex can be read as a volume. That transcends mere speech as how lesser beings communicate..... Nicely done!

Ugh, it warms my heart so much to see how much you've grown, really. I remember when the August few was just satellite city, and satellite city sparked my very first imaginary world when I was younger. Now that world has grown and changed in so many various ways, and i can't wait to get amygdala and see how much your world has grown too. I've always admired your work and your ability to craft such an interesting, beautiful, and unique world.

Gotta say, I'd seen your absolutely stunning animations and character design before and wasn't aware that they were for a novel. I picked up Amygdala and I gotta say I wasn't ready. Your writing is absolutely phenomenal and its very cool to peek back here and see what the characters look like in motion knowing a bit more about them now.
That was incredible!! Something about your animations always feels so otherworldly and fantastical, yet grounded in reality with subtle body movements and texture, and this video ESPECIALLY displays how weird, yet beautiful all your creatures are! Wonderful work!

I can't wait to read this scene though as it looks like a lot of shit goes down or its at least so tense! Animation is fantastic as always. Always gets better each time!

The colours the shadows, and the timing are sublime. I love seeing the character designs as they've changed and developed through the years, and just how detailed and fascinating they've become. I feel like I always find something new that catches my eye, even on rewatching videos...like how the close-up on Lucy's eyes caught me this time, as it was the first time I noted her silver left eye has a constricted pupil like a blind eye would, which led me to backtrack and see if I'd missed that detail in other recent pieces. That, to me, is a sign of good art: it always has something else that catches the eye, no matter how often it's looked at.
