I hope he continues the series at some point, I am interested in their homeworld it looks very interesting, but the series kind of left off on a cliffhanger, like they were about to go to war with Lockett's forces and I was getting hyped up for an upcoming showdown. Will that be continued at some point? I tried asking Fennah that before but never got a response. Also this is book one, so is he focusing primarily on the book series and putting the modern day story and animations on the backburner? Maybe after a few books he will continue the story once all the backstory is filled out?

Fennah… You said this was an animation test for Greta. This wasn’t an animation test for a single character, this was so SO much more. This was an absolute masterpiece and everyone looked so dang beautiful and as awe inspiring as you would expect from Kivics if you were to encounter them in real life. I think my favorite part had to be the part that started around 1:40ish of each “floor” holding a different collection of characters before the doors are swung wide of Methusa and her radical beliefs.
Also I always forget just how crazy the size differences could be between characters when I don’t see visuals of them beside each other (aside from Lucy, I’m just used to imagining her being tiny compared to just about everyone) so when I saw Greta being so much taller than Ludwig I had to do a double take even though it makes sense considering their ages.

a "animation test" for thoes who have at half lest been around just know it mearly means a few hints on the critters, but also a master work of animation with a nod to the music artist.
I still love how you are unafraid to show off the full beauty of anatomy.
Fennah never disappoints us with every upload. The visuals and the character designs are so unique to this channel. I couldn’t have asked for more
I love the character splashes from 1:30, a quick teaser of each character:
Ludwig and Lucy, looking straight into the camera, suddenly aware of everything they are caught within as the colour pallette changes to dangerous reds and blacks
Bazzil, Teazzer and Fontaine, posing and being dramatic
Helgan's overwhelming presence who doesn't even fit in the frame
Yeshua and his dollies, the great entertainer and able to make even the mightiest "bow", lording over the world beneth the Thume
Methusa and Patches, in a black and white world which reflects her idea of morals, good and evil, right and wrong.
I also love the scene of the 3 Descendants, although Locket is physically the smallest of the three she still towers over the other two and dominates the scene with her presence.
I think this video has some of your best lip syncing as well, I've noticed that in a lot of your other animation tests you have very exaggerated lip syncing as well as asymmetrical mouth movements like they are singing with only half their mouths, this looks very clean and naturalistic. Fantastic work, I finished Amygala last week and I can't wait for the next one.
I actually didn’t notice Patches behind Methusa until you pointed it out, probably because they’re both out of the frame so quickly after the “doors” open.

This book needs to be made into animation. You are so skilled with your story telling, and visually your stuff has only gotten better. I am enthralled, as I know so many will be.
I know everyone’s calling this a book trailer - which, yeah, I suppose that works that way - but, after seeing your work grow for years, I can’t help but see this as you just embracing and enjoying your characters as you always do for an animation test. Maybe with way more context now. I love seeing the glimpses of other characters, especially with Celia underwater and Lucy flailing helplessly through the air before being caught. It just feels like moments you’ve always really wanted to put out there and work on animation wise. Easily my fav from you so far, I feel a lot of love for these guys in this.
By God.... This is your best animation yet!! Soo many characters wrapped perfectly all in one video! The models all have their own styles, textures, movements, and designs... This is simply splendid!!! I'm loving this new start, bring the flood ❤❤

I love these animation tests, I can see why it took a while. It's one thing to read about a character and their world, but it's another experience to see them move and live, truly something else.
one of the resons i love these animations is because it adds another layer to the characters. the number of references and nods to their personality in this animation is.... staggering. Sam's world really is a special one.

Haven't had a chance to pick up the book yet, but it's real nice to see what became of Hyzenthlay! Her animation test was the first video I watched of yours, and it's incredible to see how far you've come :) as an aspiring author, you give me a lot of hope for myself and ever getting off the ground
You mean the Heathens video? That was my first one too! I saw it recommended to me and I figured “you know what, I think I’ve seen videos of this guy’s before recommended to me. I think he’s the one with the weird white and red rabbit. I’m gonna watch this I’m curious now.”
Then I fell down the rabbit hole of Satellite City and its surrounding universe and can count Amygdala of one of my all time favorite books.

@@okami6399 Haha my experience was same! after satellite city I just waited for animation tests and the book to come. I have not yet finished the book tho, im too excited and I want to read it really slowly 😂 I love it too much and dont want to rush it. One of the best books I have read so far!
Oh, I read your masterpiece and was delighted. I really liked how you conveyed Bazil and Teaser's romantic relationship, how the Mystic eventually treated Fontaine. And baby Ludwig is just incredibly cute. It's hard to believe that such a smart, naive, kind and timid boy turned into a serious and dry "great voice". Sorry for my English, I don't speak it.
I don’t think the series satellite city is Canon anymore
@@sradiophobia3746 I doubt it. Quinn was no longer born on earth. The squirrel is also no longer a hybrid. Sam went too far with the squirrel. As a dugout, she would be more interesting. It's good that he makes his world more diverse, but we started reading the book thanks to the original animation and information. As a reader, I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ludwig and Helgan's promised romantic relationship develops. They are so different in character and ambition.But I'm afraid Sam will clean it up. And it will disappoint
The characters from the book look so incredible! Things are definitely changing up for everyone, and the sequel you are working will determine what their paths will lead to...
I wasn't sure what to think of Greta when she first appeared in the book, but reading on I grew to understand, sympathize and even like her, so I was really looking forward to this video.
What I didn't expect was a sneak peek into the tone, characters and story of the book and I loved it!

Holy shit. There are no words. Already you were above and beyond, this defies description. I loved seeing all the characters. The pacing, the framing, the colours, the motion, the creature and setting designs. Simply beyond belief. Can't wait to watch it a million more times

HOLY SHIT. You've improved so much! The composition, editing and animation are INCREDIBLE. Especially the little moments of dancing. I adore the shots of Celia under water and the shot of the descendants is just incredible.
This is so beautifully done, the visuals are phenomenal. It's been such an amazing thing to watch you improve and expand over the years, Sam. I look forward to reading this book and seeing what you will do in the future.
it really is such an awesome book, and the characters have such unique personalities, and the world building is just the best ive ever seen. the fact that your able to make the characters come to life through ink and videos is just amazing. definitely looking forward to more stuff in the future from you.
HOLY CRAP THIS IS SO COOL!!! I adore Greta so much, and it was such a treat so see so many other characters make an appearance. It was really cool to see some scenes from the book! Phenomenal work, man :)
What are the odds that you might eventually animate this entire story/series? All these animations you’ve been doing has me really fired up to see a full animated series or movie.

Having Lucy look at Greta likes shes questioning her fits so well with the book, considering Lucy wants to know what she’s about
Having Bazil and Teaser pose as if there showing loyalty to Fontane was a cherry on top NOT TO MENTION how stunning the scene they were in the mirror was
Celia drowning as a hint to when she went mad, Methusa with patches, and Greta looking up at the three grand voices, and so much more all of it was incredible and worth the wait your work always blows my mind and the models look great!!!
Holy ShEt. I think it’s been more than 5 years since I’ve last seen your work, and suddenly this is the first thing that pops up. No words can describe just how far you’ve come, how fluent the animation is, and the art style within the book.. I simply cannot find the right words to praise. But what I will say is that I admire your dedication- the sleepless nights, and immense efforts you’ve poured into this to make it work. And everything else you’ve tackled behind the scenes. You’re Outstanding.
This is such an awesome conglomeration of every character with who they're connected directly to. I'm so watching this slower when I get off work.

Oh my god that was truly epic! It felt like the trailer to a movie, and a wonderful one at that. Ive read the book three times now and im still learning more with each read.

Greta's overall design in this video is beautiful! I haven't gotten to her story yet but when I do, I look forward to learning why she looks like a new up coming leader who's climbing their way to the top!
Of course I have to give recognition to the rest of the cast and crew that is included into this video. Seeing so many characters and their amazing styles and designs is amazing!
I was literally yelling out the names of every character I recognized as they appeared on screen, so you can tell I’m hooked. Also I have a feeling your song choice in this video was deliberate, and the fact you showed off so many characters alongside Greta means this is (maybe) a turning point in your development as a creator, and if I’m right, I can’t wait to see what you do with these characters next (hopefully a fully-animated version of the novel or something ❤)

So many new characters! This is honestly such a beautiful animation, and a great teaser for the book. Loved all the set pieces here, the way the visuals sync perfectly with the music, and the snippets of Greta's portaits in the book. The animation quality keeps on improving. Love it ❤
I love how all of the old and new characters' personalities are shown in the animation. Also, I was also very happy to see a new version Hyzethlay be featured in this video at 1:05. Greta is my favorite character from "The August Few". You did an excellent job as always, Mr. Fennah.😁

god this is making me realize fennah has always been incredibly good at displaying character through animations like these, even though i was never around/kept up with satellite city i always catch his animation tests because i feel like they alone give so much interesting depth and intrigue to this characters, THIS VIDEO hit that skill to its maximum potential and genuinely might get me to read the book, when im not living paycheck to paycheck. this is just so well made a teaser for the story my god.

I am loving your book and I have watched your former series for a few years, just before the pandemic and I have got to say, I love your work. Your animations are just so amazing with it's visuals and how fluid they are, I can't wait to more stuff you produce. I will say that this isn't my first time watching this video, the music and visuals just go well together which makes me come back to it.

It is a very immersive experience.

I swear I've been rewatching this so many times ever since it came out last night. I am just IN AWE at your animation and camera-work in this! I expected to only see Greta, and you gave us so much more! I'm obsessed with every second, Greta's movement in the beginning, the way you switch scenes with the rhythm and give brief spine-chilling cameos of each character! (I'm personally partial to Lucy falling into Ludwig's arms, Yeshua's silhouette, Helgan's ~"flashy"~ entrance, and Gatsby/Fontaine just unfolding his arms)

I managed to watch all previous animations, they were not bad and in some kind very impressive. But now this one is one of the best things that have been made. Models really great, scenerio of animation very cool and effects which are perfectly done with well fitting music. I didn't read book before but after watching this animation I am willing to buy it. Amazing job with this all.
