I'm glad Team Coco is digging into the archives to find all of these high-resolution Norm videos. You know a comedian has mastered their craft when they can get hysterical laughter out of the simplest of jokes. RIP to the best in the business.
The humanity demonstrated by Conan and his friends shines a bright light of hope for our future. Conan ending his Tonight Show with "I can't stand cynicism" and "Just work hard and be nice and the world will open up to you" (I'm paraphrasing) proved he is the wisest, most profound person (still) alive.
Me too - so precious
@@johnjamesbaldridge867 Actually, Norm was not welcomed on Conan anymore, after cancel culture got him. Not even the last show. Sad.
I watched all the clips they had then I found like a 3-hour collection of him and David Letterman oh my God LOL
@@vrfvfdcdvgtre2369 well knowing what we know now. I doubt Norm was the in position to do the last show.
3:36 _“I brush ‘em, you ever do that?”_
Just a perfect delivery on that line. Hilarious.
I think that was the funniest line in the whole set.
but, has anyone ever considered whether it's a good idea to microwave your teeth?
That is the genius of Norm. It always about that delivery. He just has it, no matter what he says, it's delivered perfectly
Delivery?? A goofy rhetorical question and pause for a laugh, that's not great delivery which depends on an actual joke. I just don't get the compliments on this guy who was awkward and had no real comic ideas to speak of.
@@surfwriter8461 Well, it is great delivery (which does not require an 'actual joke') - that's why the entire audience laughs, and why my comment received hundreds of up-votes.
If Norm isn't for you, that's fine - but please don't suggest he wasn't talented. He knew *exactly* what he was doing - you don't appreciate it.
"I bit my tongue, you ever do that?"
Overexcited guy: "YEAHHH!!!!"
You hear the guy go "RIGHT ON!" shortly after? I didnt think that was a thing people actually said unironically
@@Dogtles Same
@@Dogtles it was like 1993
@@kalasmournrex1470 right on man
And the someone, maybe the same overexcited guy, yells "ALL THE TIME" 😂😂😂
My favorite Norm quote:
"Death is a funny thing. Not funny haha, like a Woody Allen movie, but funny strange, like a Woody Allen marriage"
You're terribly missed 💔
didn't norm play death in family guy?
@@lancesiirila3655 yes
@@lancesiirila3655 I think you're right.

@@joezegers burt reynolds is here... thats not my name...ok turd ferguson. Lol
Thank you Team Coco for preserving Norm Macdonald's best moments with Conan. Those two together always created magic.
God bless you folks
I was thinking the same thing as I watch their mix. Sure enough it was the first comment on this video.
Right you are
It's almost like everything they've ever recorded is on some kind of storage device of some sort.... 🤔
Absolutely! So many of my favorite Norm moments were when he was right there with Conan, both delighting in each other's oddness.
RIP. True deadpan legend. His rambling style will never be recreated
Don't forget Mitch hedberg!
@@minecraftsteve2504 Hedberg is the kind of deadpan.
@@minecraftsteve2504 I liked Mitch Hedberg. He was definitely a different style though.
Not sure why people keep describing him as deadpan. Jimmy Carr is deadpan. Norm's quite animated and basically smiling the whole time.
@@spangalang yeah it’s a mischaracterization. I think it’s because Americans rarely see any sort of subtlety, so whenever someone isn’t screaming and jumping around they just call it deadpan or a “dry sense of a humor”
Norm says he has 50-100 teeth and everyone just said "ok, continue"
“I’m not a doctor”- Norm Macdonald
Well, he likes round numbers, pretty sure the audience knew.
Technically he did start with 50
I never really got Norm as a kid. As a man approaching middle age, however, I'm mesmerized by his ingenuity. His commitment to the obtuse - and to the long game - is so fascinating, discomforting and sublime. RIP to a master.
Right? I would have been about 15 or so when he started the Weekend Update gig on SNL back in ‘95 and never “got” the jokes.. much like the audience at the time, they never appreciated what they had.
Fast forward to today and I’m cracking up at everything Norm, the man was a comedic genius. His storytelling ability and build up to the punchline was amazing. Totally obtuse tangents but jfc was it amazing.
@@petemalysewich6845 That’s how I feel now , I don’t understand his jokes but I’m trying to watch him anyway and make myself understand
A man grows
Well said 👏
...the long game - yes!
He talked about teeth for six minutes…and had it been his special it would have been twenty…I love this man, and I miss him already…
I saw him live about a 15 years ago. I swear he must have done close to 3 hours.
Then at the end he just goes "eh, I got no ending for that. God bless you folks..." :D ;)
I bet you say I love you on the first date
@@TheRyndiculous Your mother told you, I see….
how can you even be born so perfectly funny? he was THE greatest comic of ALL comics, ever. he was a philosopher too, honestly. god rest the soul of Norm Macdonald. his being made the world a better place.
I miss him with my whole heart. ❤ it’s hard to be sad at someone so funny
Anyone else feel like this is a very respectful way to honor Norm? Instead of Conan just releasing a message like, "He will be missed," they're simply releasing videos that Norm would've loved for people to see. It feels just as subdued as most of Norm's comedy, and all the more authentic for it
It was respectful right up until they censored his joke in the Courtney Thorne-Smith clip, and also failed to upload any of his (hilarious) appearances where the centerpiece was un-PC jokes. Many of his best appearances will never get the HD treatment bc Conan is a far leftist who now finds them offensive.
"Well I got no ending to that." One of the funniest guys ever.
Norm fans are gullible
That was so good :D
@@heavylit1760 how is that gullible? he just think that ending line was funny
@@Kiahsoahsnjs I was referring to the "One of the funniest guys ever" line.
Gullible
@@heavylit1760 gullible about what? what was norm trying to convince you about, you chode lol
I swear, Norm was only ever telling jokes to entertain himself. The way he constantly look like he's holding back a laugh. I genuinely think he was at all times, and personally just found himself hilarious. RIP to an absolute legend.
I agree, I imagine he crafted all his material around what he would personally find retardedly hilarious. It always seemed like he was having just as much fun as the audience and that's part of what made him so legendary in my opinion. Even if he totally bombed and got no laughs, it became an act for his own amusement, almost just to see what would happen at times. He's one of the only guys who would still do a joke on weekend update after knowing the rehearsal audiences didn't laugh at it because he genuinely believed the joke was funny and it always was even if he was seemingly the only one who got it.
Conan knows how to truly memorialize Norm. He wouldn’t want some long sappy speech. Just show people what made Norm special.
I've been hearing Conan canceled Norm though and didn't have him on the show. Hope that isn't true.
@@90whatever It was actually Norm who cancelled on Conan as he wanted the whole controversy thing to die down first before making another TV appearance.
@@jaems what controversy?
@@lordstinson8095 He supported Roseanne, and in turn, CK during the whole #metoo witch hunt. He then went on to The View to 'apologize' but got into even hotter waters by joking about down syndrome.
I’m sure if Conan still had a show he would have made a speech about norm
So he’s been rambling like a 60 year old man with dementia since he was in his 30s. Lol No one will ever be able to recreate this style of comedy. Brilliant stuff. It’s amazing that he wasn’t booed off stage every time. Lol
Every joke he told here technically sucked- or mediocre at best, but I was laughing my ass off the whole time. He was the best.
Its cuz he was funny.
Uh OH ... it looks like someone's been TRIGGERED by Norm: ruclips.net/video/HPiDl1zeck8/видео.html
It's incredible how he's able to make the joke sucking be part of the joke
His act is taken from a 5 yr old kid. But his delivery is awesome
Man, he looks so young here. Still can't believe he's gone.
never gone. timeless.
He died!?
young and fresh, but not like when he was.... one.
He is my age in this video and 1995 doesn't seem that long ago. Makes me wonder how long I have on this Earth.
@@lxuaes6915 yes, he died on Tuesday from a 9 year long battle with cancer that he kept from everyone.
I find it so hilarious how he asks if people ever bite they tongues and someone in the audience is like YEAAAAAHHH man he was really loved and still loved till today
Never seen anybody relentlessly believe in himself and his jokes as much as Norm did.
He was an inspiration and a once-in-a-lifetime talent. He will be missed dearly.
Thanks for these clips, and for giving him a platform over the years.
Find yourself someone who believes in you the way Norm believes in his jokes
Find yourself a crowd which will cheer especially when you're clearly bombing
He also had a special advantage over most comedians - he found bombing to be comical.
Da GOAT
Agreed! The best thing about Norm, whether his jokes missed or not, he clearly never gave a shite.
“You got no tooth there what the hell are you talking about?” 😂😂
It's like he's just making it up as he goes! 😂😂😂 Just a naturally funny person.
Norm was one of the few people whose comedic sketch acting was as good as his standup.
RIP Legend 🙏
ruclips.net/video/Tyw7H66pU-s/видео.html
He has literally said he's a terrible sketch actor and hates doing it haha. But - that never stopped me from enjoying his attempts 💖😜
Miss u norm
I agree with those above, he wasn't a great sketch actor but the one where Norm is in a car crash and Sly Stallone is first on the scene is legendary lol
Hope the money is going to Norms family?!🙏♥️
“I brush ‘em, you ever do that?”
Is your profile picture of the bloke from the hilarious AXIOS interview?😄😄
Usually when a celeb dies Conan will post one interview and that's it but for Norm no we are getting a hole series of videos.
RIP Norm we will miss you dearly. Thanks for all the laughs
Norm perfected the awkward long form story joke that you never see coming
God, he was SO freaking cute. Just adorable. And funny as hell. Such a loss.
It's been almost a year since he passed but I'm still here watching his legacy. Thank u team Coco for saving all the good memories.
Norm is always the BEST!!!🤓💘❤💙🤍❤🤍
Never in my life have I spent more than thirty seconds thinking about the death of someone I never met, but I’ve been thinking about nothing but Norm since the news came out. I loved him so much and I was so blindsided by it. He was just such a momental tribute to everything that can be good and decent and fun about being alive on earth.
RIP Norm, ya broke my heart boy, leaving me and the world behind without a Norm. The world needs a Norm, and not just any old normie Norm.
I think this is my favorite comment honoring Norm. ♥️
got that right, this world sucks a lot more today
I like the way you put your words together.
The world will be missing that old lump of coal. Rest in peace
"I had a bowl of plaque..." Set ends. He really didn't know how he was going to end this one. But you know what? That's Norm.
Glad to see Conan pulling these old clips to keep his talent living. Was so sad to hear about Norm's passing, his comedy was so unique to him and could listen to Norm talk about random stuff for hours and laugh every minute. RIP Norm McDonald, another legend gone too soon
“Ah ok, we’ll… I got no, uh, ending to that… but uh.” 😂 💕
Rest well Norm, never did I ever see or watch anyone that just had balls of steel and said EXACTLY what was on his mind.
You mean his mind?
@ahtan2000 trust me man I absolutely love bill Burr. I still listen to his podcast and Joey Diaz too
i fully believed that this whole stand up is improv
Yes, it's true, there were times when Norm had something on his mind...when he wore a HAT.
Such a legend. Please dig through every appearance, interview, or podcast with Norm. Every bit of it is gold. Such a genius comedian that’s death is still surreal and unbelievable. Rest in Peace Norm, I hope you know the impact you’ve had on the world and the legacy you’ll leave
Goodbye Norm. Thank you for lightening our load all these years with your comedic genius. Rest easy.
I love that when they pan out he's wearing what looks like hiking shoes. Rip norm.
I saw those columbias!
you can thank David Letterman for that influence :)
He was off to the North Canadian tundra to visit his brother after the show. He later waded through blood and bones on 9/11 in those shoes...
He always had that grin like he knew an inside joke the rest of us couldn't see. And that twinkle in his eye like he had a secret that would blow your mind away if he ever told it, duty bound never to say. And he'd stand up there like that secret was the simple joy of being with you. "Hey there friend!"
Him and Robin Williams. Both absolutely genius.
2:03 "You needed em back then to whatever you know?" 🤣💕👍
I know just what he means … 😭
Thank God those days are over!
This feels like the most unprepared, last minute, get up and go stand up act… and I love it! RIP you, legend!
That's exactly what I think most times I watch him! Like he's finally thinking about what he's going to talk about only as he's walking from the green room to the stage.
I loved this man. You could spend hours on RUclips watching his comedy, sometimes hearing two or three whole jokes.
I saw what you did there!
This old chunk of coal is a diamond now. Rest in peace Norm.
deeply closeted chunk of coal, that is.
@@sebastianrutkowski7316 That chunk of coal sure was good at fuckin' and suckin'
Look at the man's face! He was so incredibly handsome.🥲 My favorite comedian ♥️ may he rest with a smile
Most people have no idea how hard it is to write jokes that are specifically not funny on purpose, then deliver them in such a way that people laugh at the delivery paying no attention to the fact that it's not really funny and they love you.
Does nobody mention how genuinely handsome Norm was?
He was a male beauty
im binge watching his videos just to look at his dimples from various angles. he is gorgeous
Conan is one of the few hosts who was able to vibe perfectly with Norm's humor. Its always gold whenever him, Andy and Conan get together,. Like old buddies sharing banter.
even "I'm not Norm" doesn't have this one.

My grandpa's a dentist and he *LOVES* Norm, I truly cannot wait to show him this and watch him laugh his ass off 😂😂😂
RIP to the greatest to ever do it
I’m legit excited for your grandpa to watch this.
Please give us a full report!
If he doesn't mind then upload a reaction video of him watching it. Get back here if you do :-)
I tell my dentist that I floss. Lol
Norm was spot on, lying to his dentist. No patient ever tells the truth! "Yeah, Doc I floss every day. Really!"
Even young, his rambling delivery gave off a funny old grandpa vibe that made him seem older than he was. This man was born to be an old silver-haired raconteur, spinning stories on a porch somewhere...he would have been such a cool old man.
He once said when someone dies from cancer people say "they lost the battle" makes em sound like a loser. I like to think it was a draw. RIP Norm
At least when you die of cancer the cancer dies too.
Norm Macdonald was a great comedy legend and a pleasant face to look at everytime, he put a smile on your face and warmed your heart with his jokes.
Rest in Peace !
I never cried before in my life for a person who i dont know. Love you norm i was Binge watching your videos when i found out. Hurts alot.
RIP Norm. Jay Leno said he was every comedians favourite comedian. He said Norm could take a normal everyday non-funny word and make it hilarious. You will be missed Norm.
I’m gonna be just as sad when Jay goes. I know ill never forgive him for how bad he was to dave and conan. But i grew up on NBC only tv for most of the 90s people like Jay, norm, and Lorne were my gods
@@Ottophil you couldn’t change the channel?
Jay's a douchebag. I don't remember a single appearance by him on the tonight show, but some of my favorite bits of his were on Conan.
@@stone-rock Well, the channel would really have to want to change.
@Team Coco I thought I have seen everything or at least most of everything Norm had on RUclips but I can't say I remember this one, thanks for sharing it. If you could, please give this week of posting videos to this man. The hearing of his death cut deep for me as it did for so many and it would be so fitting for Norm to have a week of celebrations for his talent not just as a comedian but for his remarkable talent as a talk show guest. Norm was truly one of a kind.
Thanks Team Coco for uploading these. Norm always connected with the common man.
I need more norm in my life. I love how every joke sounds like he made it up on the spot and he just stumbled his way through it.
He is so good at telling jokes you feel as if he is your friend and truly enjoys making you laugh.
I swear, This Guy was gold. Sometimes the material was just absolutely like huh? But other times you're laughing so hard it hurts. He clicked with all walks of life in comedy.
2:03 "You needed 'em back then to like whatever, you know."
Norm always knew how to paint a picture.
Awesome! So many great Conan appearances to upload; first to come to mind:
- Professor of logic
- "congratulations" gift basket
- real battle axe/"doc she's chokin"
also the polish sausage bit "Why just because I come in here and order a polish sausage do you jump to the fact that I must be polish?" "Well first of all this is a hardware store"
I hope Norm realized how much respect and admiration he garnered from all the best people.
I can't believe when I was a kid I thought Norm was awkward and unfunny. Watching his routines today I realize he was actually awkward and hilarious.
Literally wasn’t even telling a joke just went out and spit balled. RIP possibly the funniest man to ever live.

The balls of that guy. Nobody loved awkward silence the way Norm did. Most comedians die in those situations, he just fed off it.
"I do the next best thing - I tell my dentist that I floss. I just lie to the guy - what the hell do I care, he's just a dentist". RIP, Norm. Miss you already!
Rest in peace legend! Gone but not forgotten, will miss ya big man. Thank you for all the laughs.
I love how, 'Well, I got no ending to that.' is the joke. And the best one.
I never get tired of watching these. After countless times I still laugh until I have tears in my eyes. May God bless Norm.
So young. Cant believe you are gone Norm. We love you
No one could make you laugh with an old man's incoherent rambling like Norm did.
He's gotten less old man rambling as he got closer to being an old man. His style changed and varied over the years
@@wyskass861 How ironic lol.
This is the only time I've ever watched a comic mostly bomb and yet I still laughed the whole time. Norm is truly the best ever.
I’m convinced this is all improv’d and he never performed this bit before.
Supposedly he actually rehearsed so much to make his delivery so great...it takes a special skill to make something so difficult seem so easy
I saw the beginning "biting you tongue" part in another video. But then he strayed away and made things up as he went along.

Truly a legend. So sad to see him go :(
“I had a bowl of plaque.” Dead.
Authentic. Thats the way I'd describe him. And brave. 90+% of comedians out there are neither of those things.
His style is something else. Like jazz, he has an odd rhythm that's almost as unexpected as that of life
I loved how his stand up wasn't completely polished but more raw, like a friend telling you a funny story.
