    3D printing the elevons is convenient if you have a 3d printer, but most will replace elevons with balsa like on the Drak

    Noise pull up on throttle
    should be possible to eliminate by moving CG back a bit (in very small steps), also changing motor trust angle should help.
    Planks are always harder to get perfectly balance for any Reynold's number.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  5 лет назад

      I'm sure you can improve the situation by making adjustments, but it appears to be that the wing has built in reflex in the design that causes it.

    To simplify wiring, just power the 5v rail on the omnibus pro via the ESC bec. There is circuitry to detect this so the board does not get damaged.

    • @EnglishTurbines
      @EnglishTurbines 5 лет назад

      I thought everyone knew that anyway...?....ESC BEC drives servos only, because they make noise and as such the 5v rail is isolated from the FC processor.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  5 лет назад +1

      I choose not to use ECS built in BEC's on any build, because when the ESC dies, you fall out the sky. Been saved by this method more than once.

      @AdamGdoesFPV  4 года назад +1

      Thanks :) I tend to use a mix of hot glue and E6000. The E6000 stays clear and is flexible, and the hot glue is just there because it sets quickly and holds everything in place while the E6000 dries. UHU Por is great stuff, my only dislike is that it turns a nasty yellow colour over time :/ Thanks for the comment.

    Nice review Adam. You need to bend your quad pilot buddies props and send him back to remedial flight school. LOL I just finished a system overhaul on my Dart XL by removing all the TBS gear I had in it and installing Dragon Link with a Vector and 1.3 Ghz video. Now I'm just waiting for the wind to die down (we have had 20-30 mph constant wind here for the last couple weeks.) so I can re-maiden it and configure the Vector. BTW I used your video on ground stations to re-build and improve mine. The main difference is I'm using a Dragon Link 1.3 Ghz yagi antenna rather than the VAS antenna you use. I used a 1/4" thick piece of plywood to mount everything on. It will be included in my next video about the Dart XL.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  5 лет назад +1

      Haha cheers mate :) where are you from that you're getting constant 20-30mph wind? Sounds a bit like the conditions here in Ireland :P
      Sounds like you've put some really high quality parts in your Dart, good luck with the next flight!
      Ah great to hear the GS video was useful for you... How is the Yagi? I though they were meant to have quite a narrow beam width? Cheers

    • @richardcoggins739
      @richardcoggins739 5 лет назад +1

      @@AdamGdoesFPV HI Adam, I'm in central Texas. We normally have pretty gusty winds here in the spring but the last week and a half the wind has been stronger than usual as there is a high pressure system east of me over Alabama that is drawing strong moist winds off the Gulf of Mexico. It is forecast to diminish by Thursday but also bringing a chance of rain then as well. As for the Yagi it will be the maiden for it as well. I've spoken to several pilots who have used it and they really like it. They say it is not quite as directional as you may think and if you do fly a bit out of the cone of best viewing they just bump the antenna slightly in the direction of the plane to improve the image. I am using a Diversity Daemon with a second RMRC receiver and the stock chopstick omni directional antenna when the plane is close in and , or behind me. (I've used that receiver and antenna flying my SkyHunter out to 2 miles with no issues.) My goal for this plane is to do some long range flights out to 15 miles or so using a Titan 7000 MAh LION and I think the Yagi will come in handy for those kind of flights.
      Good luck to you and I'm looking forward to seeing more videos from you in the near future.

    • @AdamGdoesFPV
      @AdamGdoesFPV  5 лет назад +1

      Weather can put a real downer on this hobby can't it! Hope you get the chance to fly soon.
      Sounds like you have a good setup there anyway... and maybe the Yagi would benefit from a tracker (if you can be bothered)?
      Thanks for watching and for the support, I appreciate it :)

    Excellent honest review,I’ve the dart all prepped and ready to fly, but sadly due to northern Irish weather I’m unable to test it (usuall gps drones) this is my first plane/wing, I’m using the kopilot but already looking to my next build. Since making this review I know many people that have flow these and all have agreed it's easier to launch than most wings. Firstly take a look at the terrible throw at 6:58 it still just wanted to get up and go... next take a look at the launch at 10:30 this was in full MANUAL mode with no input on the sticks from me at all, yet it looks like it was in Launch mode.
      If you're having problems launching this wing I suggest you check your model over making sure CG is correct, that one side/wing isn't a lot heavier than the other and that the control surfaces are lined up and move correctly.
