The Rajputs of a few kingdoms in the yesteryears were extremely brave and fought a lot for the preservation of their kingdoms. However, most of the active royal families had partnered with the British to enforce strict taxation on its subjects. A lot of the socio economic issues of the region originate from those policies. While we celebrate the grandeur and aura of the ceremony , let's not forget where the wealth originated from in the first place.

@@bonhamcarter4488 There is nothing to be jealous of here. If Bengali zamindars and Rai Bahadurs had ostentatious ceremonies like these, I would have said the same thing. I am not doubting the bravery of the Rajput clan. They are the pride of India. My point is the ruling Rajput class including the Bengali zamindars levied heavy tax on the poor people of the region on behalf of the British. There is more than enough factual proof of the fact.

I would have preferred if your other conclusion was: I do not like the oppresive class. There have been many good rulers in history, especially Indian history - King KrishnaDevaRaya, King Bhoja - they were great administrators, scholars and built infrastructure. Unfortunately, I cannot put the current Rajput royalty in that exalted category. I believe based on the amount of sacrifice the Rajputs made for India, even during the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny, they certainly deserved a better class of rulers. Most of the Rajput families who actually stood up to the opressors have unfortunately perished or are impoverished.
It's not on taxation!!! ....get a knowledge most Rajputs states were self sufficient in money.... Tax used to be taken from people knot during calamities Or wars!!!..... You're also paying income tax in democracy what's new now??
