I was Cleopatra, I was young and an actress When you knelt by my mattress, and asked for my hand But I was sad you asked it, as I laid in a black dress With my father in a casket, I had no plans, yeah And I left the footprints, the mud stain on the carpet And it hardened like my heart did when you left town But I must admit it, that I would marry you in an instant Damn your wife, I'd be your mistress just to have you around But I was late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life And when I die alone, when I die alone, die I'll be on time, ah, yeah While the church discouraged, any lust that burned within me Yes my flesh, it was my currency, but I held true So I drive a taxi, and the traffic distracts me From the strangers in my backseat, they remind me of you But I was late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life And when I die alone, when I die alone, when I die I'll be on time And the only gifts from my Lord were a birth and a divorce But I've read this script and the costume fits, so I'll play my part I was Cleopatra, I was taller than the rafters But that's all in the past love, gone with the wind Now a nurse in white shoes leads me back to my guestroom It's a bed and a bathroom And a place for the end I won't be late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life And when I die alone, when I die alone, die I'll be on time, ah
I'm Egyptian, A COPTIC CHRISTIAN EGYPTIAN. I shout that out loud because we are the most pure blooded Egyptians out there and that's not only my opinion that's what Egyptologists, Historians and Scientists also agreed on, and I tell you that every word that Bassem Youssef said is right and I totally agree with him. Yes Egypt had lots of mixed cultures throughout its history like for example: Assyrians, Persians, Israelites, Nubians, Ukrainians, Greeks, Romans and Arabs, but the Egyptian blood didn't mix and change that much and that's because for centuries we Egyptians had a golden tradition rule to marry our cousins, and that tradition is still present until now especially in Upper Egypt(from Assiut to Aswan), Although that tradition seems silly and bad from a scientific biological point of view, but that doesn't matter, silly or not we kept that tradition of marrying our cousins for centuries and that helped us to preserve our pure Egyptian blood not mixed as long as we could, and the result is what you see now and that is Modern Egyptians looks typical to their Ancient Egyptian Ancestors, just look at my skin color and Bassem Youssef's skin color we are almost the same although he is a Muslim who was born and lived in Cairo and I am a Coptic Christian who was born and lived in Luxor and there is almost a 1000 km distance between us, doesn't that tell you a thing or two about who Ancient Egyptians were and what they looked like? With all due respect for all the Black people and all the other ethnicities out there, but we Egyptians are special very special, WE ARE NOT Black or White or Yellow, Not Europeans or Africans or Asians, Not Assyrians or Persians or Israelites or Nubians or Greeks or Romans or Arabs or French or Italians or Germans or British or Turkish or Ukrainians, Not Middle Easterners or Caucasians or Mediterraneans or Levants or Amazigh or Berbers or even North Africans. WE ARE EGYPTIANS, WE ARE VERY UNIQUE!
You do realise that you guys are African... Right? Like... It's a continent... The country is on the continent... It's basic logic... (Although you are doing a weird comment just for clout so I guess logic doesn't matter)
Please have a cover of the song Earned It (The Weeknd) even if it's just singing it, it would be spectacular to hear your voice singing that song. 🙏🏼 Saludos desde México, tu fan #1 🫶🏼
Very nice. Can you sing it to my lyrics? I was clean, Patrick, I was young and attractive, Full of life, full of passion, my future in hand. But now the end, I’ve passed it, as I lie here in my casket, With my father in a black dress, I feel so damned. Though I was so dejected, my demise was unexpected, I had your heart; I had your hand through thick and thin. I had your love, Patrick; I knew with you Patrick, Come what may, hand in hand, we knew we’d win. But then I faced deceit, I faced defeat, I faced the end of my life. I knew I loved you; you loved me too; I was sure to be your wife. And now in the bleakness, I encounter my worst weakness, as the man who first loved me will be no more. And as my world was shaken, my poor heart would not awaken, To behold the grief and loss it could never endure. And then I faced deceit; I faced defeat; I faced the end of my life. I knew I loved you, and you loved me too; I was sure to be your wife. The man who loved me first, he caused my heart to burst. He read his script, his costume fit, now he plays his part. And now for you, Patrick, my love holds true, Parrick. As I lie here still and lifeless my heart pounds for you! So take my love, Patrick, and rise above, Patrick! Keep me always in your heart-- I’ll help you through. So don’t you take deceit, don’t take defeat, don’t rush the end of your life. Just push on through; I still love you; in your heart I’ll be your wife. Oooooo, oooo

this is so beautiful. Exactly how I imagine and hear this song in my head. You nailed it
Beautiful, playing, voice and cover. You're amazing.
I was Cleopatra, I was young and an actress
When you knelt by my mattress, and asked for my hand
But I was sad you asked it, as I laid in a black dress

While the church discouraged, any lust that burned within me
Yes my flesh, it was my currency, but I held true
So I drive a taxi, and the traffic distracts me
From the strangers in my backseat, they remind me of you
But I was late for this, late for that, late for the love of my life
And when I die alone, when I die alone, when I die I'll be on time
And the only gifts from my Lord were a birth and a divorce
