Really good job Chris. These are the little things that make you want to snatch the hair out of your head. I happen to be at this very same point in my 66 El Camino project. Btw, your regulator to regulated alternator video was a HUGE help. Keep 'em coming, Buddy!
Thanks for the heads up I was looking for something other than stock but after seeing this I I may use the new factory on my 69. Love seeing the 4 speed. I'm going 4l80e for over drive hope to cruise the coast and pigeon forge maybe some day we will meet . Thanks for sharing.
The remote mirror you said was for the Monte Carlo was an option for the 69 -72 Chevelle and El Camino and came with the SS package {confirmed for 72 anyway} I have the factory hole for the remote on my driver door. I prefer to leave the car designers choice and keep the original. Great videos
Its a plate inside the door that the mirror hardware screws into. Screws into sheetmetal alone can rip out. Your drivers door had the reinforcement plate......its like a floater plate for you striker post. Same in principal anyway. Most cars that didn't have a passenger side mirror originally didn't have the reinforcement.
ok, so you totally confused me.. so the passenger door had a mirror added... thats why the holes were off and NO, it did not have a reinforcement.. anyway, thanks for the input... what do you think looks better? the sport mirrors or the ones i put on the car?
These cars never came from the factory with a passenger mirror. It wasn't an option, however the dealer would offer to install a passenger mirror if you wanted one.

I have a driver side mirror, but the cables have been cut. Can you replace the cables?
You know how to remove the screws in a mirror to put in another mirror ?
