    Gearing is a great mod for WR250Rs if going off road, 1st gear isn't low enough and can stall easily.

    I'm in Canada and I can't find a muffler for my 2015. Do you know where I could find one?

  • @brianrichard1768
    @brianrichard1768 2 года назад +1

    Did most of those mods on my 2015, she rips pretty good for a 250 but the suspension needs some help as well.

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  2 года назад +1

      Ya, like any bike at this price point, certain riders might need to upgrade suspension. For me and my riding, I never felt the need on this bike. We made some adjustments, and it was fine for me. Whereas on our CRF300L, I can already tell I want to throw maybe $1000 at the suspension, since that bike doesn't even give you any adjustments.

      @@brianrichard1768 Nice. A modded WR250R is definitely no slouch. We have a couple 450L's here as well. The guy on the 450L looks like a big guy (heavy?), which definitely works against him, and in stock form those things are really choked up, probably moreso than the WR250R was in stock form. But ya, WR250R's are a great bike, and there's a reason they have a cult following. Still wondering why Yamaha dropped it after 2020. Hopefully it returns as a WR300R or WR450R!

    Tasty mods! What is the graphics package, and where did the black body moldings come from?

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  Год назад

      The graphics are a retro graphics package that we used to sell for these bikes. The plastics are Yamaha OEM plasics.

    I’m planning on buying a 2020 wr250r do you need a power commander if you put on a new header and muffler?

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  2 года назад

      Yes, you will definitely need some sort of EFI controller, otherwise it will run way to lean.

    Hello . What is your choice about 250 cc Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki motorcycles for adventure?!

  • @glennboy66

    Lowering links diminish the suspensions capabilities and can affect the whole bikes handling, better to have the shock professionally lowered and front forks modified to allow for change in rear shock or bike can handle like crap. Yes to your other mods but sorry a big no to lowering link.

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  Год назад +1

      Sorry, don't completely agree. Yes, having the shock re-done and forks re-done is often a better option, but it's also substantially more expensive. We've lowered a few of our bikes with the Yamalinks and Kouba links, and for the riding we do, they work fine. And we've sold 100's and 100's of these Yamalinks over the years. Companies like Yamalink and Koubalink wouldn't exist if what you said is true.

    Thank you for all the good information. I need to ride as quiet as possible. How much more than the original does the FMF system sound? And is it worth the while to install a Power Commander on a bike with stock exhaust?

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  2 года назад

      The FMF Q4 is the quietest muffler available for the bike, but it's going to be louder than the stock exhaust. Not terribly loud by any means, but louder than stock. Add yes, the PowerCommander would be worth it. They have a map available for the stock exhaust, which will wake it up a little bit and still have that quiet stock exhaust note.

      Looks like DRC lists a different part number for the XT250, that bike requires a D48-02-535.

    Hi so after the power/performance updates, what is the top speed on the highway as the STD WR250R is a bit dangerous when wanting to overtake other vehicles due to the lack of HP, asking if the updates make enough difference for value for money?

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  2 года назад +2

      It definitely wakes the bike up, and I'd personally never leave one of these bikes with stock exhaust and fueling.... but it's still a 250 so you can't ever really expect it to have the ultimate in high speed overtaking performance. Alot of factors here.... gearing, weight of rider, aerodynamics, etc. I'm about 180 lbs with 13/46 gearing and the bike does OK at this, but still not quite what our DRZ400 can do, thanks to it's bigger torquier motor.

      Why wouldn't you leave them with stock exhaust and fueling? Overly lean?

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  5 месяцев назад

      @@tristanloveday5240 Ya, completely stock, those bikes are pretty corked up. Doing a full exhaust and EFI controller wakes them up nicely. It won't turn it into a fire breathing motocross bike, but it's a noticeable improvement in power/torque and just overall ride-ability.

    • @tristanloveday5240
      @tristanloveday5240 5 месяцев назад

      @@SRmotodotcom I'm not overly fussed on performance, I'd prefer to keep it stock for the better fuel consumption. I was more worried about it being too lean but I havn't really found any supportive evidence of that yet.

    I can't find the pro circuit 4 anywhere. Is it discontinued? What's second best in your opinion? fmf?

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  2 года назад

      Ya, I haven't been able to get the PC exhaust either. Those are definitely on the loud side, so if you want a bit quieter, FMF Q4 has always been the most popular choice for those bikes.

      Really LOL. We sell alot of them for the WR250R and CRF450RL, both dual sports. Some guys ride these bikes in terrain where a steering stabilizer can come in handy. We even have one on our CRF450RL supermoto.

    some just weightrn the bike more..

    • @SRmotodotcom
      @SRmotodotcom  2 года назад

      Yes, some parts will add weight. But stuff like skid plates and handguards will offer needed protection, and the some of that weight is down low (skid plate), so it's not real noticeable.
