Yea
@@pixisthepixel 1 minute ago!?!?!?!?
bro i swear to god every single one of his videos are like that, it's like he's missing the point on purpose so he can focus on content creating rather than playing the game for himself he's playing himself for other people to watch, and as long as we can see he's missing the point, then he has identified his target audience which is "fellow engineers"
If hes doing that on purpose, then that’s a true engineer move
And I did lol
26:15 I wasn't paying attention to the number and for a brief moment I was really impressed that RCE divided some huge number by 147 effortlessly in his head to figure out he needed 24s
I’m not sure what the worst part was- making 600s instead of 600 74s, multiplying two numbers instead of adding them or “I don’t know how to make 19” when there’s a production line for 19s RIGHT THERE…

So I've played this after the last video. It speeds up once you creat assembly lines like in factorio that produce full belts. Just keep track of the outputs per source.
I never fully calculated it, but since your combinators aren't limited resources, I just did 2 rows of 8. At large numbers, I'd finish off the last number before I finished the factory of the new one.
There's an option in settings that let you create L shaped belt lines. Very nice to make corners while zoomed out.
I finished all the achievements. Level 8 in all upgrades, maxed out all production, up to level 30 in the primary level system.
5 digit numbers get difficult, well most of them.
Overall I think the sources need to be all prime numbers, or multiples of 2.
I like that there is no 10s tho
@@mwrgaming6428 Are pretty easy to make tho
Set yourself a challenge, for example only use multiples of 2. Or only use prime numbers. Or whatever other challenge you like. I did a few challenges after maxing 20/s belt speed and 5/s on adders and reaching 2.5/s on all others, then getting around level 390 (forget exact number) before getting tired of grinding it.

Is this a website or an app on pc?
You hooked me to this game with part 1, and now I went way further than you. Thank you for the discovery!
Also, remember that you can extract a whole lot of rows from one extractor, and do a whole lot of the same operation in parallel...;) (I know you already do it, but it can be pretty fast to clipboard a build of parallel adders, parallel multipliers, etc, to have directly a multiplier with 8x input rows of each and 8x outputs).
Also, if you shift + scrollwheel while in paste mode, it will scroll through your recent copies, so it's easy to have copied builds for adders multipliers etc.
Have a nice day!
Shift scroll, brilliant.
Do you recommend starting with an extractor template and paste it on everything?
His first video also got me 😂
Now I'm 20 hours into a playthrough with level 8 everything besides level 15 belts and I feel like I've done everything I wanted to do. Got all the steam achievements.
Very solid use of like $5.50
@@BishopStarsthe joy of no resource cost to build - I have a copy of every system I've made tucked away into a corner of the map.

@@air5723 I like how we found ourselves doing the same thing to solve this problem
There's no point to the 25 "storage" because the multipliers run at the same speed, so that storage can never deplete anyway, it just takes up space
it was for storing some numbers while he was still building so that he can have a big batch at the start
and is shaped quite unfortunately.
@@crabbydisk7658 Except he doesn't, because that's not how it works, ...because the multipliers run at the same speed.

The fact that pi is a transcendental number meaning it can’t be calculated with less than infinite algebraic notation makes the thumbnail really funny to me
It could be the closest possible floating point approximation of pi instead, which can be calculated in a fine time (it would be wrong to write it as Pi but who cares, Matt is an engineer so Pi = 3 for him)
I couldn't stop laughing when Matt started making 600s instead of 74s

Making 600 when he needs 600 74s lol

It made me so mad
The true reading comprehension of an architect. "Sure looks good to me!"
Ah number dyslexic.
AND THEN HE JUST KEPT IT ALL THERE
4:06 "making backup storage" fully understanding that he makes 25's as quickly as he makes the 75's is hilarious
I suggest a huge roundabout around the base to tidy things up
Watching the inefficient use of space hurts my soul, 10:00 Since you're multiplying 4x4 there's no reason why you can't rotate those multipliers and have one belt feed both A&B, the speed of the multiplier working is much MUCH slower than the rate at which 4s come out. Then you can squeeze a ton of 16s out by doing multiple versions of that.
The thing is,the more belts you put out of a extractor doesnt make it faster and output more,so if he did it your way there would maybe be gaps, and his way looks cleaner too.
@@Salarostnot one belt for all multipliers, but one belt for each multiplier.
@@skylinelibertarian3835 it still slows it down, his extraction rate was 3 or 4 belts,if you use all sides you get 12 belts so it would slow it down a bunch
@@Salarost The speed at which the operations work is MUCH slower than the speed at which the extractor can supply numbers. Case in point, I made a 27 generator by using 24 multiplications splitting 12 belts around the 3 extractor, each belt supplying 3's to the 3 * 3 multiplier and then the 3 * 9 (from the last multiplier) multiplier. The extractor is still clogged because the multipliers are too slow.

@jaideepshekhar4621 The two rows of multipliers are perfectly parallel to each other, but at a quick glance they look (to me) like they are bend or 3D.
For having loads of the same production line, you could do a bracket system like in sports competitions (8 teams in quarter-, 4 teams in semi- and 2 teams in the finales) but in reverse

12:23 LOL best use of that meme I've seen XD
As a maths nerd, I see a lot of potential in this game, for example, I would love to see the game introduce challenging numbers to produce, most notably e or pi or the golden ratio to like ten dp, and add more advanced stuff in number theory, it would make quite a fun gimmick for narhematicians
That seems like it wouldn't end up being that interesting with the way the game works. For example, you can't "make" pi from a finite number of operations on integers, so the obvious way to add it to the game would be to have a pi extractor, which kind of defeats the purpose since everything with pi just becomes "Make the integer part and slap in pi."
@@Vaelosh466 ye it wouldn’t be that interesting for the game. But I just think that the Maths community really needs a tool similar to this for them to experiment in an intuitive and game-like way which may get more people into math. While other tools similar to this exists, tools like Matlab may be too complicated for people who just want to try and have fun with math as it also requires some programming skills, so I think a maths tool in the form of this game would be good for the maths community
I can see the potential of this too... however, since I got lost after single digits, I don't think I could do this game. lol When Matt was figuring out how to make 171, supposedly, in his head, I was trying to figure it out on calculator and failed. Sadly, I'm one of the few (or many?) who has never been able to do math in their head, other than very simple single digits.
I could see this being a very fun game, if you like and know how to math properly.
Thanks! Bought this game and, boy, it's addictive.
Also, showcasing this without music is some architect behavior! Music is great.
There’s an app called Builderment that is just like this except no math or numbers, it’s all resources (copper, coal, stone, etc.)
Update: it’s a day later and I just found the video he already has on this, silly me
hey i loved your first video on this thank you for making a part 2!
4:40 since addition is quicker than multiplication .... proceeds to create 4 more multiplications rather than adding a 5 to itself 4 times. The architects are getting to RCE don't let them have him
unless hes planning to go on a multiplication rate increase spree in the next one lol
In this game I made 3 of the same factories that can make any number, but damn you did good.
This was very entertaining. Your first video on this game is the reason why I bought it. It got so excited when you made a new video. 😊
You'd think a Civil Engineer would know how to use Arterial Roads.
unless he didnt realize just how massive the project was gonna get lol
Much like Shapez given construction is free spacing things out is a good idea.
My recommendation as always is to just start by running some belts from far out in each cardinal direction into the hub, then based resource gathering off those spokes rather than near the centre.
This gives you a lot more room to work, and makes empty spots on belts a lot easier to see since they stand out on a larger scale.
With this game is easier then shapez to saturate belts, you always just take the belt speed divided by the machine speed.
So those berries you stick out could work well as guides, but you will always need a new belt to bring the numbers in.
The moment you said 600 I noticed
1:11 thought we wouldnt notice, glazed over the knob >:)
8:29 he Just made a swa stick
What’s funny is he didn’t need too, he could’ve just added more multipliers instead of of a “25 storage”
1:09 Nahh bro why did you do this💀💀💀
1:10 💀
MATT PLZ MAKE MORE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MATH AND FACTORY GAMES. I WILL ALWAYS WATCH ANY OF YOUR FACTORY GAME VIDEOS SO PLEASE MAKE MORE
Hahaha that flex at the end "That looks like a prime number" Really clever ;)
Seems like it would make sense to have some sort of a "highways" leading into the destination in main directions (up, down, right, left) and basically have all those in paralel belts that have some solution that allows them to move numbers between them if either gets congested.
I think with the new priority junctions you should be able to make such self-balancing solution
for big numbers this is more complex than factorio because you have to come up with your own 'recipes'
It's not, because the recipe is always:
- Make the numbers 1 to 9
- Make a 10
- Multiply the ten by other tens for 100, 1000, 10.000 etc.
- Multiply the digit with it's place in the number (e.g. 2x100, 5x10, 7 - for 257)
- Add these together
Easy peasy lemon squeezy...
@@QemeH OR
You could do (4x4)^2 = (4x4)x(4x4) = 256 + 1 = 257.
Not sure which way is faster but that's how I'd do it.
@@QemeH If your goal is to simply make the number sure, but you should look into expression trees if you want to make said number FAST. There's no need to make a GIANT number generator for a given base (base 10 being easiest only needing addition and multiplication) that can only spit out a single number in the time it takes for the last operator to compute. An expression tree that's only 4 or 5 levels deep could easily be duplicated 3 or 4 times in the same footprint the number generator would take and likely require fewer operations for the larger numbers as well.
@@zecuse Once exponentiation is unlocked, it takes a surprisingly small foot print just using tens and multiplying by whatever you need for that digit and then adding them together, and you can change which number you are generating in a few seconds.
No, this game is just the basics of LGM and GCD
14:24 It seems the way that this game splits is exponentially. In my case, If I would have 7 lines and 512 numbers, 252 numbers would go to the 1st line, 128 numbers would go to the second line, 64 numbers would go to 3rd line, 32 numbers would go to the 4th line, 16 numbers would go to the 5th line, 8 numbers would go to the 6th line and 4 numbers would go to the 7th line
Was that a strongest shape I saw on the map there 😂
There’s a very odd shape at 8:02 as well. 😂
Quickly paging through; can't see any base factory, where, for instance, any number is made by a+b*10+c*10^2+d*10^3 .. where a b c and d are selected by belt priority, allowing quick reconfiguration without copy pasting everything. And zeros are supplied by divisor.
This is the essential engineering mode. No part of this is "aesthetics", or "interpretive". This is long, firm mathematic fundamentals that uses a universal language to penetrate deep past "just playing with it until there's a result".
"Let's just delete that before anyone notices..."

I really wish this game extended to higher concepts like division, exponteation, roots, but also further to i and complex numbers. And you could get a reward for calculation Pi or e or whatever
It does do division and exponents
Just thinking about it, likely the best way to make numbers would either to make powers of 2 and then sum them in binary, or to pull a goldbach conjecture and make primes, then selectively add 2 primes together to get any number you want.
