- Hey Everyone! Sorry the vlog is later than normal today! Today we're traveling St. Barths. After sailing my renovated 1994 Beneteau Oceania 510 sailboat from St. Maarten, I find myself reminiscing in this European/Caribbean paradise. I tell a story of a luxury yacht charter I worked on with special guests years ago and I give my best attempt at some life advice. You'll see the town of Gustavia, Shell Beach, and the famous Le Select where Jimmy Buffett was inspired to write "Cheeseburger in Paradis". Oh and I go out drinking with a wiener dog. Great episode Chase. You mentioned REGRET in this video, I think regret is an ugly thing that usually comes from bad choices/decisions, so I see regret as A life lesson to learn from. So when I die, I may have learned a lot of life lessons, but i die with no regrets.

So Jimmy Buffets friend opened Le Select. Opening night one of the cooks didn’t show or they were just slammed and jimmy stepped in on the grill. While cooking he overheard a woman say to her husband. “That’s really sad, that guy used to be a rich and famous musician and now he’s flipping burgers”. Jimmy went back to his 50 million dollar yacht that night probably laughing his ass off. I used to work for a guy who flew old sea planes with Jimmy, I never met him but spoke to him on the phone a few times. He was such an inspiration to so many, it truly saddened me when he passed last September 1st. Sept 1st was also the day we made an offer on our boat, so it’s a bitter sweet day. What’s the big plan Chase??? Panama Canal and head west???? Cape Horn, check out sailing sweet ruca!!!
it was such a sad day for me too! my South African girlfriend was so confused that I was so sad so I made her listen to every jimmy buffet album that day to try and explain! "A pirate looks at 40" makes me cry now.
Plan is to head west! I dream of pulling in to south east Asia. I'll probably buy an apartment there someday when all this adventuring is over, my favorite area.
@@ChasingGrace21 son of a son of a sailor , pirate looks at 40, the captain and the kid…so many great ones. My ultimate sailing anthem however is Southern Cross ( Crosby Stills Nash ) if you have never dissected the lyrics to it, man there is a lot to that song….

Another great vlog, Chase. You're going to be very successful in this endeavor. The abilities you have as a storyteller and filmmaker are great and getting better with every video. I always look forward to watching with my 19 year old weiner dog Jolly Roger ☠️. He has also been a traveler. The biggest thing I can tell you to keep Charlie going is to have his teeth cleaned about every 2-3 years. I am a firm believer in doing this. It's not cheap but will help guarantee a long, healthy life for him. Jolly still goes out and chases squirrels and rabbits when he can see them. Brauh! So glad you took the risk and went there. I've seen a lot of cruisers videos and places people stop, but Gustavia is beautiful. Reminds me of small villages in the Mediterranean, place is sleek. The story was great and revealing, you let us in. The church part was awesome, got your wish. Keep them coming bro!

@@ChasingGrace21 I feel ya there! No dry dog food for my puppy, I pick up those Costco chickens, one of them feeds him for 3 days. Then he gets canned, sliced carrots, beets, peas, and rutabaga with a little bit of Parmesan cheese
I kinda disagree if you risk it be ready to lose it all and the regret can be devastating. My advice is mitigate that risk leaving for an adventure later is still leaving for an adventure

oh yeah! They come out at night. Depends on where you are obviously. next to the mangroves in Dominican Republic there were a lot, but in St. Maarten none
