When you go inside to start the interior portion, pan around before you start so people can get a general layout instead of jamming the camera up to the tv. Just a suggestion
We have a 2021 20XG Cross Trek (name was changed to Cross Trail for 2022) that we have lived in full time since March of 2021. We really like the overall size, the power of the EcoBoost engine, and the big garage area. It was almost half the cost of an Ekko when we bought ours, and the Ekko was not available then. The fit and finish of the interior could have been better on the inside, but we like the amount of storage for the size of the rig, but one feature missing was drawers for clothes. We supplemented the window blinds with reflectix panels cut so they press to fit inside the window frames which helps control heat and cold from the large number of windows. The windows provide good air flow with the windows and door open. We also put MaxAir vent fans in the vents over the kitchen and bedroom areas for even more ventilation. Would have been nice if they came that way from the factory. While the AC will run off the batteries (ours are 400 amp hours of AGM), it won't run for long on the batteries. While not really designed to handle winter weather it can handle temps a little below freezing for brief periods with a heat duct keeping the water tank warm and heat pads on the grey and black tanks. This was how ours came from the factory. The 3 way fridge needs to be replaced with an all electric compressor type. Nova Cool makes a model that is supposed to fit in the same space. We will probably replace ours sometime in the future. The fridge in the unit can not keep inside temps below 40 F when it is really hot out or at high altitude. Not having a thermostat control also means if you aren't watching and making adjustments you can freeze food in the fridge in milder temps. These are problems with all absorption (propane) style RV refrigerators. The electrical system has been a little bit of a disappointment. Coachmen ordered the unit from Ford with dual alternators which can supply plenty of power for charging while driving, but because the Ford system uses both alternators as part of their SRC (smart regenerative charging) system the house batteries don't get charged as fast as they could or should given the amps the dual alternator system can provide. If anyone has a good solution for this problem, we would like to know what they did. One other item missing for us were 12 volt outlets. These are important for us since we try to stay strictly 12 volt as much as possible when not able to plug in to shore power. The 3000 watt inverter draws a fair amount on its own. So we want to leave it off if we don't have an electrical hookup for multiple days at a time. We solved this problem by adding some 12 volt outlets ourselves. The solar setup is nice - 380 watts on the roof with the option for another 190 watt panel mounted on top plus the port by the door for connecting additional portable panels. Our understanding is the portable panels would need their own controller since the port is wired directly to the batteries. The bed system has adjustable stops for setting max up and down positions. We set ours to go all the up close to the ceiling. When raised all the way up I can just stand underneath - I'm 5'10'. In bed mode (lowered) we can sit up on the bed and use it as a lounge space sometimes during the day. You can even watch the large TV up front while on the bed. For storage we put 3 sets of shelves, all 3' high around the back to make better use of the space for storage. In addition to camp chairs, hoses, electrical cords, and the miscellaneous items needed for camping, we store an inflatable kayak and two folding electric bikes under the bed. This all stays in place whether the bed is up or down. We also solved the problem of no drawers for clothes with an ottoman with drawers in it that is in the storage area as well. It also gives us a place to sit at the Lagun table we mounted back there as well. Nice to have two separate living spaces during the day, and a place to work on projects.
@eric olsen, I had originally dismissed the 20XG because I didn't think we would want to crawl over each other in the middle of the night. How is the rear bed working for you. Also thanks for confirming the adjustability of the bed. We are planning on buying ebikes.
@@victw1 While it would be nice to have access to get out from either side of the bed, just not possible in this size RV without giving up something else. We have adjusted. We really like the size of the RV for travel. Almost all of the rest areas we stop at along major freeways have parking spaces large enough for us to park with the cars instead of in the truck parking areas. The person who gets up the most during the night or first in the morning sleeps on the side with easy access. We are used to it now. There is a heat vent in the garage area under the bed, and because we keep our bed high enough to store bikes underneath even while sleeping we stay warm without any problems. In really hot weather (110 F outside) it is a little warmer than we like for napping during the day even with the AC on before we replaced the vent above the bed. We replaced the small vent fan above the bed as well as the one above the dinette with MaxAir vent fans, and that helped a lot with heat control. It was an easy swap since the hole in the roof is the same size for both.
I am stunned! This is very impressive. It ticks almost all boxes for me. Likes are too many to list. Top 3 would be the multiple power sources (I love propane for fridges), garage and split bath. I’m not sure about the dinette, hate the windows (why not awning style?) and would like to see spare tire mount on the rear. Thank you for this review. Just awesome.
Two features i like most are the large back storage under bed and the propane/lithium batteries placed outside which only you have to enclose to avoid dust/mud debris. Back storage can be useful to add washer/drier, charging e-bikes, keep motorbike, camp tent/accessories, kayak, skateboard, etc. You may upgrade anything like additional solar panels, etc. Very nice RV innovations!!
Not better than an EKKO but working towards it. The deal breaker for me is the out dated 3 way fridge and exposed batteries to the elements. I feel certain there are plenty of customers for this Coachman, just not me
We like your videos Palooza as long as you let the people that you interview tell you what Class RVs that they have, you seem to over talk them when they tell you what Class their RVs are. Please let them tell us all if you don't mind so we can get the understanding.
With options will cost about the same as EKKO. A little bigger with better bathroom but smaller bed. Not cold weather capable like EKKO. More toy hauling capacity. This is aimed at a younger demographic. I wish for something in-between the 2. Kinda like the cancelled EKKO 24.
Needs: 1: Larger (taller) 12v fridge 2: European double pane acrylic windows with built in screens and shades 3: More standard solar 4: Bed should be able to lower down further
Although this model was stated as a "kind-of prototype," the batteries need to be enclosed and environmentally conditioned (heat and cooling). They won't survive long exposed and uninsulated.
O...M...G! A rear door, right in the middle of the back wall, like on the 21XG, would be HEAVEN! Long items could then be "passed through", under the bed into the cabin area. (Things like Kayaks, skies, lumber, etc). This would make this vehicle REALLY useful as a cargo van as much as a camper van.
WOW... I really like this one. I like the table, the fact we can have our bikes inside, and/or we can lower the bed low when I get older or having a sore day. I love there are two bedroom windows for cross ventilation. Nice
I’ve liked these new layouts, I do wonder why this model doesn’t have a 12v fridge as standard? 2 way/Propane is so 5 years ago. And no struts on the overhead storage cabinets? It’s 2021. 🤗
“So 5 years ago,” LOL! Many people including myself, are wary of the quality and reliability issues of new products. I was talking to an RV technician and he made an important point, residential refrigerators don’t break nearly as often as other RV refrigerators. Not sure if you’ve priced a 3 way fridge lately, but they are more than a residential fridge. And yes, as soon as 12v refrigerators have reliability stat’s, I’m in. 😎
@@Erin-Thor We had a 12v fridge in our last TT and have a 12v fridge in our 5er now. With the 5er we went seasonal. The fridge has been running consecutively for six months. No issues. Your technician is probably referring to issues with 2 and 3 ways of the past. 🤷♀️
The sales guys just looks so annoyed during this video... I like but would not buy, no ladder so can we assume not a walkable roof? Which you need to check caulk seals and clean solar panels. Great review 👍🙂
This unit layout seems Awesome! I am disabled and use a power wheelchair! Other than monster toy haulers I haven't found anything close to this where I can store my chair inside. (I can still stand and maneuver around a very short distance so I don't need to be in my chair to get it in the garage) Also I'm checking into either a reclining loveseat or Murphy bed instead of the dinette! It's a little pricy but if I can gain my freedom again it may be worth it!
Hello great rig but missed the mark on a few things. You need to get with Winnebago and use there wet/bath on drivers side then move the location of the fridge to the shower location. The dinette is awesome to sleep additional passengers. Twin beds/queen bed is also an option to consider. To combine cross trail and the ekko would be the class b / class c killer. And retain the coachman price. If you did that I’d be in line to drop a deposit. Also a pop up like ekko on this would be great. You can also market this as a 6x6 awd coach. Thank you Alex
This is not for overlanding or anything like it. More like traveling during foul weather. Not so much competition for the EKKO as much as just copying it. Why are they putting a propane fridge in an RV met to get off grid? It isn't as efficient as a 12V DC fridge.
Love the separate shower and toilet. It’s the best . This rv would make a great wheelchair camper rv but I really need twin beds and a frig with separate freezer. I’ve seen them in smaller rigs so I’m sure it would fit. The disabled want to get out and enjoy the great outdoors too but there’s nothing on the market for them. if you could make a couple of design changes for the mobility challenged, my disabled veteran would love it.
Interesting but I’ll take the EKKO. 3-way fridge, fixed propane tank, bed arrangement, kitchen area and lack of awning type windows are all negatives for us.
How would you have dual pane windows if not awning style? Using anything but the acrylic windows would add a lot of weight. Going single pane means a colder coach, more noise intrusion and far worse condensation issues.
@@audengrumet3985 3-way are very poor in warm weather and can take hours to cool down plus they need to be level to work right which is not always possible in a camp ground.
Thanks for the vid! Lot's of complaints in comments about not having a 12 volt compressor fridge, but if a person is on the Northern West Coast where the sun might not shine for two weeks at a time, propane will be looking pretty good. The exposed lithium batteries is a concern though. Rep did mention they were good to zero degrees, but was that in celsius or Fahrenheit?? I get the other complaints about single pane windows, etc, but if it's 60/70k less $ than EKKO, you can't really expect it to be on par with the full-on four season EKKO, right? Winnebeggo makes a good product, but also think price wise, they are little too proud!!
Always check the OCCC for the motorhome and know that this is the total load capacity for all people and all contents added to the RV including fresh water and waste water in the holding tanks. The OCCC can vary by as much as 4,000 lbs between different Class C motorhomes depending on the GVWR of the cab chassis used to support the motorhome.
Its ok, but if your comparing it to the Ekko, then I'm afraid this cross trail falls short. The Ekko has many ways to keep batteries charged, it's all wheel drive, lots more interior storage than the cross trail. It has the 4 season set up on it so you can rv in most winter climates. The garage on the cross trail I must admit is much bigger than the ekko, but that's it. Not a big fan of the batteries being exposed to the road. I'm not 100 percent sure but I don't think the water pipes for the cross trail are inside the cabin, like the ekko, which helps significantly with minimizing freezing in colder weather.
Thanks Hank for showing newer model Cross Trail. One concern would be heating and cooling the rig given that large open storage area. Still has those cheap twisty latches on outside storage bays. Like that it has a dry bath, white cabinets and no cab over bunk. Good kitchen storage, but compressor frig would be better for us. Updated transit cab, but does it have the new safety features like the Beyond; blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, Sirius radio, navigation, etc. Doubt it.
Why does Coachmen insist on putting a horrible RV fridge into an RV with Li and 380 watts of solar on the roof? This RV should have a 12 volt fridge. I know it is something easy to swap out after purchase, but then you end up with the stupid cooling vents (pest holes) on the side of the RV. Coachmen needs to offer this with a 12volt option without the vent panels.
I prefer the 21XG layout b/c I don't need that huge garage. I got SO excited about the 2" lift on the AWD Transit and all of the lithium on-board...but the batteries aren't insulated from the elements, so this is not much closer to a four-season rig. That defeats the purpose b/c lithium HATES cold. SUCH a bummer. Ditch the big propane, add protection for the plumbing and lithium, and I would be putting my deposit down on that! The Ekko is having way too many issues, and Coachmen could leave it in the dust! Four-season the Cross Trail!
I agree. It’s like they are misguided. They are doing some things well (good batteries for example) but completely missing out on what true off grid types want. Coachman just needs to pay attention. They could knock this out of the park. People are willing to pay. Just build what people want, no corners cut.
@@truecolor6579 watch a video review on both RVs. I like both. More material quality and build went into the Winnebago Ekko. It is much more expensive because of the build quality.
I own a Greenspeed Magnum XL recumbent Trike. Check out the HP Velotechnik Scorpion fs. These two models and others are able to be wheeled into this wonderful garage WITHOUT having to be folded down! A real premium feature. Bikes can also fit in with them. The Europeans have been ahead of us by incorporating this feature into many of their different RV designs. Congratulations for seeing the light.
I was just thinking that this would be perfect for my Scorpion fs 26, but the build issues and lack lack of 4 season insulation have me thinking about a Bigfoot 25 foot travel trailer and storing the trike in the pickup bed once again.
for those who want to pay 165-190k for an ekko, go for it. this is a more affordable alternative for 92-130k$. having 98k$ in my pocket, i can mod the interior like i want. the ecoboost engine, awd, and garage space, safety features(lane departure, tire pressure monitor, hill assist, auto hi beam &rain sensing wipers), 380wsolar&lithium, and dry bath! are what's important to me. hopefully the newer models have protected the batteries better. I do like the way the ekko's propane are easier to refill. thanks for the video!
I am a big fan of Coachmen and Winnebago but this unit was not well thought out to be compared to the EKKO. Their is no innovation in design. Hopefully the next version will be a lot better Coachmen.
Coachmen, a few areas improvement: Make fridge a 12v compressor (much more efficient), AC 12v ( so you don’t need to run your inverter), insulate the lithium battery compartment (or they won’t charge in cold temps) and, last but not least, stop cutting costs and use the Ford chassis with HID headlights.
Sorry for the comment but you said that you didn’t know much about these in the beginning but you talked more then the unit product manager in charge of designing and building it, I wish I could have heard more from the Rep.
No comparison between this and the EKKO!! For those that want a true Off Grid, the EKKO is it in my opinion. A 12 Volt Compressor Frig and a Cassette Toilet is a better choice. You want a 2 inch lift and AT Tires, add it after. Again Day and Night between the two!!!
@@arjunabernard8192 I didn't say it did, there are speciality Companies that do it after market! There's a video on YT, look it up! That's why I stated "Add it after"👍
I was totally into this until I found the only dealer within 500 miles was one I had visited looking at a different brand and they were awful to deal with. So that an ixnay on Coachmen for me. Also - if you are gonna split the bathroom like that, its a seriously missed opportunity to hang the door the reverse of they did so that when opened it spans the "hallway" at the kitchen side. That would give whoever is doing their routine a whole private area to do that while the travel partner has the rest of the place to roam around in. Also - if a partner is sleeping (late riser, afternoon nap, etc) they can set the door to give them something of a barrier from the awake partner.
I hate that stupid happijack bed. It is absolutely going to fail. I much preferred the fixed arrangement on the earlier 20XG’s. The lift and lithium are awesome, but I hate that you can’t get a generator as an option. Also - no additional insulation, no compressor fridge… So close but so far…
I was in love with the Cross Trek 20XG in the 2020 model year. I lost interest when they went to the movable bed. It introduces one more thing to fail, and if your goal is to lower the bed down far enough to easily get in and out, you have to take everything out of the garage (or most everything). And that would be an issue if you were Lot Docking.
I like the feature a lot! I have a FOLDING RECUMBENT TRIKE and love the ability to put one or more inside while moving and/or parking. Or bicycles not broken down as shown. A premium feature indeed.
We have one, I built a bunk bed ladder that we carry for when we sleep with the bed elevated, or when the bikes are out we lower it for a bit more roomy sleeping.
It won’t be better, or a better value until Coachman can 1. Get the water tanks inside 2. Fix that kitchen space 3. Get the batteries protected (Especially if The batteries were replaced with lithium) 4. A cassette toilet. A special request, please stop using cabinets my grandmother would like. All these are doable without a massive price change.
Those old outdated absorption refrigerators are complete deal killers for me. I won't even consider any RV that still uses those things. 12-volt compressor refrigerators are the only way to go.
A lot to like, this is the floorpan I think RVs should build to. But the kitchen, sink, cabinets and general carpentry just bring this whole thing down. And I'd love if RVs would just get rid of propane cooktops and use induction with battery packs that big and like 400 watts solar on the roof and plug in another 200-400 that you store in the garage. At this price point though it is hard to complain especially with the Ford Transit base.
I love the separate shower and toilet, but when will these big manufacturers finally start offering either a composting or cassette toilet as an option? Not everyone wants to mess with the black tanks. Also feel there should be an option for a 12 volt fridge. For the cost of these and many class B’s l think if you can it would make more sense to get a custom build so you can select the options you want.
The Winnebago Ekko has 4 season capability. The pipes and wiring are enclosed. In other words., not exposed to weather. The doors are thicker. However, this unit seems like it would be more affordable.
One big difference between this and the echo nobody mentioned is the echo is a four-season RV and this is not my second major dislike for this is no oven or no convection oven one thing I have to have.
Electric recumbent trikes and recumbent QUADS are a strong emerging market. An emerging market that is BOOMING! This design fits with that booming market perfectly.
It’s a great concept and floor plan. However, after seeing one at the Hershey show I was very disappointed. The build quality was terrible. The bed got stuck on the valences when raising or lowering, the drawers were poor quality, and fit & finish was terrible. I was considering one of there until I saw one in person. Hopefully they can make corrections to the flaws.
for sure they took some short cuts in the build quality (we noticed that too) and I'm not sure why?other than maybe to get it in at a certain price?...I think this was a prototype ( I could be wrong) and I hope the finished ones come out better
Horrible build quality. Took delivery of mine May 1st, fortunately I'm capable of repairs, or else I would never have had it as it would constantly have been at the shop. However, I love the rig. If I ever buy another I'll be extrememly cautious about Coachmen.
I would have preferred to take a bit of space off of the bathroom and add it to the bedroom area. Two adults on a full sized bed is no fun. I wouldn’t get it simply because of having to crawl over someone if you have to get up in the middle of the night. Have had to deal with both. But overall it’s a nice looking RV! Good job Coachman!
The garage concept is cool, but the overall quality looks pretty low and probably meant as an entry level type unit which is fine. In comparison, the Winnebago Ekko is more premium with higher quality construction and materials.
Not sure if Ekko owners would agree with you... There is currently a hold on deliveries and a recall for a major shower pan leakage issue. And owners are reporting lots of other things not working and needing repair. I gather this is par for the course for a new RV model but it's still disappointing considering the price point (starting at $175,000)
@@liorajacob8094 all brand new from the ground up products will have some birthing pains, and I’m positive these issues will be addressed as quickly as possible. In the end, it’s still a more premium product vs. an entry level product at a lower price. Overall it should and/or will be a better value with better quality materials.
I would like to know what is the average price. Realize it depends on floor plans plus other options. So far, I really favor the Winnebago Ekko. However, I can’t afford it.
Off road people are not the same as trailer resort people! Boondocking requires different things. 12volt compressor fridge, maximum batteries/solar, etc. More 12 volt and USB outlets, 12 V TVs (to not use inverter) Interchangeable propane tanks. These companies need to get with it. I plan on never staying at an RV park.
Nice rig. I wish there was an MSRP with this but I can and will look it up. I wish it had more battery storage. They might come out with an option. First time I have seen this channel. New suscriber.
No it’s not, the interior is too cheap. I will give coachmen credit i was in the market for a 2022 cross trail 20xg and the 2023 model looks much better on the inside when it comes to materials. This floor plan to me is perfect and their electrical system options worked for me too but pressing on cardboard walls just didn’t work for me.
I’ve been driving a Transit Connect for 10 years. The seats have been a real beating on my butt. I don’t think I could do that in an RV. Will need a seat upgrade.
The rear compartment doors are larger than cross trek. Looks like a large recumbent trike will fit easily. With the ability to charge in place. Does need to be able to take cold weather , no go as is.
You were both talking at the same time & even though I replayed it 3 more times, I still couldn't catch the size of the bed. Could you please send a post, with it's size? Thank you. 😊
I like the “adjustable” storage capabilities in the rear under the bed. However, a queen size bed would really be nice for full sized adults… Personally I’d put more “weight” on bed size than bathroom space as most folks spend more time in the bed than bathroom… Also I’d eliminate the propane and be totally electric.
My whole reason for a newer Class C is I hate having to climb over my wife to get into bed. I like the split bath but would want the door hinges moved so the door would provide privacy to someone getting out of the shower.
The dining table is supported by legs. Instead of having a second set of legs they could have made adjustable legs. Every inch of space in an RV is important !!! Undercarriage of the lift bed looks sloppy. Could have been hard shelled with aeration ports instead and would have looked far more tidy.
Nah, some of us would rather have the extra storage over an oven. I'd actually want to get rid of any microwave, period. I wonder if that's an option...just to have an extra, regular cabinet.
Love the bathroom, solar, lithium, renogy battery BMS, big garage.. Dislikes that add up To a general feeling of Cheapness: no slam latch doors, no dual pane windows, cheap window coverings- no blackout, vinyl cover hanging under the bed, no way to lock the cabinets, no cabinet struts, no 12v tv, nowhere to charge or lay anything while you are in bed, no clothes storage near bed, no cassette, outdated forced air furnace. I think it is a step In the right direction.. but still is a conventional class with a couple bells and whistles added to make it seem like it competes with an ekko or something similar. But the execution isn’t great. Livability would not be great.. I think someone from coachmen needs to go out off grid and live in this unit and all the shortcomings will become obvious.. the furnace alone is enough to turn me off. I refuse to attempt to fall asleep with a jet engine clicking on and off in my ear.
We added Reflextic panels that press into the window frames. These help solve the lack of double pane glass and black out the windows. The plentiful and large opening windows are nice for getting air circulating. The cabinets all have magnetic catches that hold them closed - never had a problem with a cabinet coming open even on the worst dirt and gravel roads. We also removed the vinyl cover from under the bed. Not sure why they put it on. It doesn't look that much better than it does with it off.
I was really excited to see this model but the refrigerator is not placed well at all for a woman the countertop above is unusable for me because I am only 5feet tall. And the bed in the back,, I don’t like because there are no drawers for clothing. I wouldn’td want to sleep with two large doors on each side. Also I didn’t see a ladder on the back? Where do you hold a spare tire? I do like the table for meals and the cabinets were nice but I was kinda disappointed actually.
What’s with the visible hinges on the storage doors, pretty old school. The frig right next to the sink is a poor design, cuts off the left elbow room for the person working there, then no working space between the sink and the cook top.
Thank you for watching, commenting & being a subscriber to our channel 🙏 Timeline In Description.
When you go inside to start the interior portion, pan around before you start so people can get a general layout instead of jamming the camera up to the tv. Just a suggestion
one has to begin at one end or the other...they are at front, just sayin' :)
I agree a quick pan around would be nice
True fully agree 👍
Agree., also it's easier to watch & listen to one person give RV tours instead of 2-3 of them. I found that confusing.
None of these tour videos do that. That's how they make you watch through the ads
This is super helpful, thanks!
Thanks for this…very helpful.
Eric, thank you for the details. What’s the gas mileage in general?
I am stunned! This is very impressive. It ticks almost all boxes for me.
Likes are too many to list. Top 3 would be the multiple power sources (I love propane for fridges), garage and split bath.
I’m not sure about the dinette, hate the windows (why not awning style?) and would like to see spare tire mount on the rear.
Thank you for this review. Just awesome.
Nate is the man! Coachmen absolutely nailed it with this layout, it's perfect!
I feel certain there are plenty of customers for this Coachman, just not me
I am impressed! Love how the shower is separate from toilet and sink!!!
Kinda like the cancelled EKKO 24.
hopefully the builders pay attention
Needs:
1: Larger (taller) 12v fridge
2: European double pane acrylic windows with built in screens and shades
3: More standard solar
4: Bed should be able to lower down further
Ready for an EKKO! 🙏
Although this model was stated as a "kind-of prototype," the batteries need to be enclosed and environmentally conditioned (heat and cooling). They won't survive long exposed and uninsulated.
A huge red flag!!!
This is so awesome! Love everything about this, but especially the storage under the bed. Genius!
AMD with a 2in lift kit is nice, love this unit and with a few tweaks it will be perfect for me. Thanks for the awesome review!!
It’s 2021. 🤗
I agree.....I like the taller 12 volt refrigerators with the larger freezers like in the Travato GL or the Ekko.
Cost driven
I think that's a good point and as @Slinger says below its probably cost driven
I thought the same thing about the sales guy. Like he had somewhere to go and annoyed.
Classic Quality vs Price. For instance, Winnebago provides fiberglass roofs vs Coachmen's Dicor TPO roofs. You get what you pay for.
I love this so much it's small enough and big enough to have everything I love about larger campers
Great! You answered my 2 questions about the bed...load limit and if you can stop it anywhere!!! Excellent!(Jane)
I am disabled as well and we are very underserved by RV manufacturers. Massive opportunity with an aging population!
Great suggestions in my opinion also. Maybe another foot or two to allow for twin beds??
Interesting but I’ll take the EKKO. 3-way fridge, fixed propane tank, bed arrangement, kitchen area and lack of awning type windows are all negatives for us.
understood
How would you have dual pane windows if not awning style? Using anything but the acrylic windows would add a lot of weight. Going single pane means a colder coach, more noise intrusion and far worse condensation issues.
You don’t want a three way fridge? WTF? I insist on one.
Thanks!
Wow i want one' they knocked it out of the park on this one'' almost a tiny ' toy hauler 'love love it
the garage is definitely a big plus
Same thing here
This one is definitely by far the best I’ve seen..
Doubt it.
just looked at the ekko'' loved the brown n grey colors of it but would looks sooo' sweet on the cross trail.
Four-season the Cross Trail!
good points Kimberly...they have a great opportunity here I hope they take advantage of it
Very much agree. They had me until the battery compartment not being contained and heated!
I agree. It’s like they are misguided. They are doing some things well (good batteries for example) but completely missing out on what true off grid types want. Coachman just needs to pay attention. They could knock this out of the park. People are willing to pay. Just build what people want, no corners cut.
why do the dining areas always have legs on the tables? You can easily make it floating and still have it move down into a bed.
my wife and I both test drove a cross trail 21xg yesterday and wow is the ford great !!
INTERESTED IN BUYING 2 OF THESE. GREAT LOOKING, GREAT DETAIL, AND GREAT COMFORT.
This is really well thought out with the garage space.
Its a very cool layout...although I would have to do some mods
There is equipment and wiring etc exposed to weather. Remember, the Winnebago Ekko is built for harsh cold and hot weather.
I dont understand why this is better than EKKO?
@@truecolor6579 watch a video review on both RVs. I like both. More material quality and build went into the Winnebago Ekko. It is much more expensive because of the build quality.
And the EKKO has TWIN beds, what I must have.
Besides the extra storage space, I think I still prefer the Ekko. Thank you for the lowdown on the Cross Trail🙂
This is nice but the EKKO seems better to me with the much larger water tank and the available out door kitchen plus the 2 awnings.
Rather have more electric with generator,solar..no propane!!!!!
The Ekko does not come with a lift?
@@arjunabernard8192 I didn't say it did, there are speciality Companies that do it after market! There's a video on YT, look it up! That's why I stated "Add it after"👍
We need these in the UK, Fantastic piece of kit. Thank you for your time and for sharing. 👍
Every roof opening vent needs a power fan at some style to evacuate heat and orders.
Accessing the cargo means opening the whole coach to insects. I am glad I have the fixed bed version.
Only reason I want this model if for that feature. Area to put dog crates.
We have one, I built a bunk bed ladder that we carry for when we sleep with the bed elevated, or when the bikes are out we lower it for a bit more roomy sleeping.
There is no leg room at that table it’s a two seater at best .definitely like that it’s not a dry bath .
All these are doable without a massive price change.
the rear compartment with adjustable height bed is awesome
Should have rails around the top of the Counter above the Frig so things won’t fall off. Loves of bread 🥖 etc
Love it although the Beyond’s interior seems a bit higher quality to me.
I love how you guys struggled not to say " stinky slinky".🤣🤣🤣
Using the bed at any height is amazing!!!❤❤❤❤❤
For the $$ this is an awesome RV. Huge propane tank, huge gas tank. 30 gal fresh water. All great specs.
It's probably not for everyone however lots of potential
Wait till you see what is included in base price.
Fresh water should be twice the size!
Sounds like an EKKO ad!🙏
I agree. I want the cassette toilet and twin beds. EKKO just out of range for me though.
The Winnebago Ekko has 4 season capability. The pipes and wiring are enclosed. In other words., not exposed to weather. The doors are thicker. However, this unit seems like it would be more affordable.
yeah I think it comes down to what folks want most
One big difference between this and the echo nobody mentioned is the echo is a four-season RV and this is not my second major dislike for this is no oven or no convection oven one thing I have to have.
Sorry, NOT a replacement or competition for EKKO spend a few more bucks. You won’t regret it!🙏
Electric recumbent trikes and recumbent QUADS are a strong emerging market.
Thanks for the honest review. I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate it. 😊
for sure they took some short cuts in the build quality (we noticed that too) and I'm not sure why?other than maybe to get it in at a certain price?...I think this was a prototype ( I could be wrong) and I hope the finished ones come out better
I was worried about that. From following the Coachman user FB groups the build quality really scares me.
Horrible build quality. Took delivery of mine May 1st, fortunately I'm capable of repairs, or else I would never have had it as it would constantly have been at the shop. However, I love the rig. If I ever buy another I'll be extrememly cautious about Coachmen.
Willy Walker, [My Liēge] / John Cannon Homes
I think this may come in at less than 100k
Off road people are not the same as trailer resort people! Boondocking requires different things. 12volt compressor fridge, maximum batteries/solar, etc. More 12 volt and USB outlets, 12 V TVs (to not use inverter) Interchangeable propane tanks. These companies need to get with it. I plan on never staying at an RV park.
Nice rig. I wish there was an MSRP with this but I can and will look it up. I wish it had more battery storage. They might come out with an option. First time I have seen this channel. New suscriber.
I wish the Coachmen Rep could explain his product.
I love the Ford transit ❤, molto interessante questo camper stile europeo 🎉🎉
Love the tech,my husband is going to love this!
I’ve been driving a Transit Connect for 10 years. The seats have been a real beating on my butt. I don’t think I could do that in an RV. Will need a seat upgrade.
Transit Connect is a completely different model from the Transit. Not a viable comparison.
No compressor refrigerator deal-killer!
Thank you. 😊
Battery compartment is not enclosed? Cold won’t be an issue?
I like the “adjustable” storage capabilities in the rear under the bed. However, a queen size bed would really be nice for full sized adults…
Personally I’d put more “weight” on bed size than bathroom space as most folks spend more time in the bed than bathroom…
Also I’d eliminate the propane and be totally electric.
My whole reason for a newer Class C is I hate having to climb over my wife to get into bed.
I like the split bath but would want the door hinges moved so the door would provide privacy to someone getting out of the shower.
But you do have to be able to get into the bathroom also.
Excellent video, great work guys!
The dining table is supported by legs. Instead of having a second set of legs they could have made adjustable legs. Every inch of space in an RV is important !!! Undercarriage of the lift bed looks sloppy. Could have been hard shelled with aeration ports instead and would have looked far more tidy.
Very nice if it was available with the transit 3.2 fuel efficient diesel and adaptive cruise control I would buy one
Totally agree. The fuel economy of the diesel is superior.
Thus we went to the Sprinter 4 X4 for ours.
Seamless windows would have been nice, that rubber gasket material within the windows deteriorates rapidly, especially for full-timers.
Winnebago: Let's build a new aggressive off road model for 150k$.
Coachmen: Let's change the paint.
Winnebago: Am I a joke to you 😳😳
If the Ekko had a Navion style cab over it would be perfect
Nice RV but needs a convection microwave if no oven. Love the storage area for bicycles.
Nah, some of us would rather have the extra storage over an oven. I'd actually want to get rid of any microwave, period. I wonder if that's an option...just to have an extra, regular cabinet.
Love the bathroom, solar, lithium, renogy battery BMS, big garage..
Dislikes that add up To a general feeling of
Cheapness: no slam latch doors, no dual pane windows, cheap window coverings- no blackout, vinyl cover hanging under the bed, no way to lock the cabinets, no cabinet struts, no 12v tv, nowhere to charge or lay anything while you are in bed, no clothes storage near bed, no cassette, outdated forced air furnace.
I refuse to attempt to fall asleep with a jet engine clicking on and off in my ear.
well thought out points I hope both co's pay attention
I like it except for no storage for clothes. The two cabinets in the kitchen would be for the pantry, but nothing for clothing
No temperature control for batteries. This seems like a rush job to compete.
Amazing cargo capacity!!❤
Needs a generator to be more autonomous.
Also truma water heater and black tank masserator for 4G$ more it would be way better for the X factor.
I hope they listen to the comments here
@@strangerpaloozaone can dream.
What’s with the visible hinges on the storage doors, pretty old school. The frig right next to the sink is a poor design, cuts off the left elbow room for the person working there, then no working space between the sink and the cook top.
