Those were the days! In the mid90’s, i used to fly back and forth from LGA to MSY on twa. They also used an md80 for the route. I would buy a coach ticket and then upgrade to first class for an additional $50! It was the best deal in town.
Wow - I spent many hours on MD80s out of CMH and STL in the late 80’s and early 90’s, but to SFO instead of LAX. It seems like yesterday. The engine sound gives me flashbacks. Thanks for posting this!
Those were the days. I was a kid growing up in the UK and got to fly with USAir once in 1991, also remembering the food service was very nice. It’s a pity what flying has become today and I will always have the memories growing up when it was still good.
Brady yes flew on a very new TWA MD-82 January 1984 STL-MCO great TWA service. Had a new car aroma! We had Visit USA domestic Air Pass with TWA flying at the time on L-1011 Tristar and 747 all over USA as well! TWA great memories and service. A sad loss of a great USA carrier. From Australia, Ansett 727.
I miss the days of real service on airlines which included complimentary hot meals. No Buy Onboard processed pre-packaged junk back then! It's also good to see Runways 24 L and R as well a bit of Westchester from Terminal 3, from this 1992 perspective. Life in general, though far from perfect, was so much better then, than it is now. That's my humble opinion anyway. Thanks for posting this video.
I’ve been on this flight many times past and St Louis to PHX. Wonderful. It was still good and people were dressed decent and no diversity and no fights. I hate it now.
There’s always that one passenger that always needs to get up when the Flight Attendants have the meal/beverage carts in the aisle lol
It's called being a pain in the arse

classic! Love this!!! Did that STL-LAX route many of times on TWA L10-11, 767 and the MD80s - brought back many memories with TWA gates at Terminal 3

The good old days. I miss TWA and San Diego before it became so corporate.
If I was that baby and those were my parents, I’d be screeching louder.
Flight attendants were much nicer to.
She’s not nice. She didn’t smile once at the passengers as she was serving the trays.

interesting to hear the French conversation
Haha I know, I thought that was interesting too
I don't remember the MD-80 being so loud. Maybe I never sat in the back. were you going to LAX or SAN???
It's crazy how much louder they used to be!
Was your wife (the flight attendant) an 86er?
No answer? I guess that means she is a 1986 SCAB.
