Yep those pickups have got that tone i can hear it on the chords, gotta hand it to Dimarzio he does make some nice pickups. Just fitted an old 70s set on a firebird i have sounds spectacular, been interested in his vintage versions for a while now.

These are great-sounding pickups, kind of like the (almost) "perfect" vintage sound of early Led Zeppelin! It looks like I'm going to have to get at least a bridge version.

Both neck and bridge is great, even more as a set. These pickups comes alive more when played with tube amp and loud.

@@kuitaristi3003 They're pretty much go-to for early Zeppelin I guess, and I do tend to swerve in that direction when I play - also Thin Lizzy and stuff of that sort.

Kutaristi, mate! Hi! How are you doing? What is your overall opinion on Dimarzio PAF 59?

    • @kuitaristi3003

Hi, doing well thanks :) These are good paf style pickups but i always feel little weird about the sound of Dimarzio pickups. It's not as smooth than like Duncan or Gibson but it still has that vintage vibe i like. These sounds little more vintage than those brands. I really like also that double cream color. I have two of these bridge models because neck models was out of stock at the moment and still are, but same bridge works surprisingly well in neck too.
I really like all 3 duncan 59, gibson bb and dimarzio 59's and it's great that i have 3 different humbucker guitars so i can use those all because that's the ultimate answer :)

(IMO)! PAF59 are closest to vintage tone compared to Gibsons BB:s and "almost any" Duncan pickups (i never played Seth Lover by Duncan).
Try 50's wiring and check volume and tone pots to be around 500k then use some good caps. Try 0.015 micro farad for bridge (and neck) or try 0.01 for neck.
I tryed many different sort of caps and "real" paper in oil (600V) and up works wonders. So many usable tones come upp.
(I know that 99% of everybody recomends 0.022 for Les Pauls but try for yourself and see/hear what you think)

@@christiand7678 I use 50's wiring and 500k pots. I have trying 15nf nos caps too and those are pretty cool, but i think i like normal 22nf better for bridge still. Some neck pickups are cool with 15nf.

57 and burstbuckers are nice pickups. About burstbuckers i like those because they use offset coils so those have kind of unique tone, but i think i also like 57 classic more.

I have the same pup set on a 2008 lp studio. They sound very similar to yours. I also have a jimmy page style wiring with push/pull pots.
Indi like the pups and have been using them for more than 5 years.
The bridge i feel that doesnt clean as well the distortion compared to the neck pup. And when i lower the volume on the bridge the sound becomes i bit boxy in my opinion. What is your experience lowering the volume on the bridge?

    • @kuitaristi3003

These comes with 4 wire too? I have seen only with vintage type 2 wire version. I think my 59 bridge clean pretty much same as any other bridge pickup. I don't have these pickups and guitar anymore now i have Monty's PAF set and Gibson Les Paul traditional 2016.
