As a Linux desktop user I can tell you that just about everything runs and runs great. At least those games that I pirate. My point? Those games that won't work on the Steam Deck is down to the publishers actively preventing it. This is why they don't get my money.
Are you serious I literally got the steam deck cuz I was wanting to venture into PC gaming and you know really join in on the hype train after denying it for years and when I saw so many of the games that I played on console with the unsupported Mark I was like dang but it really comes down to the company's greed? Seriously?! Thank you for the heads up. Now I'm going to go wild and play the games that I want to with no worries.

I ordered an OLED steam deck yesterday because i have a huge library that I do want to play but find i have been preferring my switch due to the convenience of pick up and go, and being able to chill where ever i am. Most of my library is supported with an asterisk and maybe 10% verified green mark. But i found some as unsupported and wasnt sure if that was a 100% no or a "we have 0 promise of it working. Good luck if you try"
I think a new category named "Untested" should be added with a disclaimer saying "The game may be able to run on the Deck with user configuration such as changing system & game settings or adding custom control mapping." Unsupported is really for games that either have an anti cheat that is not updated for proton use or a VR game.
Alot of Unsupported STEAM games work. Just got to move the protons around. But it's true Valve definitely didn't try out the game yet.. Sonic Frontiers is now playable from Unsupported.. Great video!

This is good to know. For a while now I’ve been saving up to buy a PC. I’m mostly aiming to play games that are PC only like old classic games that I can’t play on consoles. But if unsupported games aren’t as bad then I would definitely think about getting the highest end Steam Deck and could easily break for a good monitor along with keyboard, mouse, and expansion card. I don’t need anything crazy or modded to oblivion, just a good system to run games along with looking good. Plus a Steam Deck 2 is inevitable anyway.
steam deck comes iwith proton included the only reason you want to install that program from the desktop mode is if you want a custom verson of proton called GE

Warframe say supported it took me 2 days just to get the game to open. Now the game opens but I can’t sign in it’s so annoying. I buy the steam deck 2 days ago and I’m not having a good experience nun of my games work. I literally feel like they robbed me I spend my hard earned money on it and I can’t play any games on it.
There is a big learning curve with the steam deck. I ran into similar experience on my first few days. It was frustrating and I almost returned it. But after a week of playing around with it, and learning it I feel in love with it. I hope you do too. Please help out and hit that Subscribe button 🙏
So Proton can help run some of the unsupported games. But doesn't the Steam Deck use Proton by default to run Windows-only games? Just asking as I don't have a Steam Deck.

Proton db says that the new EA launcher makes the game unable to start, and there’s a workaround but it’s more work than I’m willing to do. Have you tried mass effect at all? I’m glad to see fallen order works though, I was interested in playing that as well.
Hey no problem at all. No I haven't tried Mass Effect yet only because I have it on Xbox and its not a game I play all the time. but I honestly think it would work just fine. If it goes on sale I do plan to pick it up! Im glad this video helped!

Mass effect used to work fine in offline mode but now I have no idea with EA actively trying to break their games and make things worse.
