Hi there, I’m about to convert my 2018 custom and watched your whole build series and can honestly it is one of the best break down videos I have seen so far! Well done looks great 👍
Hey Lee! Wow! Thanks so much for that really appreciate the feedback and glad they are helpful! Whats the plan for your build? Be great to see it when it’s done! I was learning as I went and like anything always a few things that would do differently 🤣 Just on the look out for a new van now to do another! Got the bug… All the best and thanks again 👍
@@TransitCustomCamper I will be completing it similar inside to yours with ply kitchen and cupboards also a pop up roof and toying with the idea of a passenger swivel captain seat👍
Hi - yes I don’t think I covered that! I used some L brackets and also furniture blocks. I also attached the furniture to the double skins metal on the van where possible 👍 hope that helps
Hey - thanks for the comment. I am afraid not.. that was the one job I didn’t do.. I had a local firm do them for me. Was more confidence at that stage as didn’t want to f it up and cut holes in my nice new van 😂 I think there are a few other good vids on RUclips also though from others 👍
Hi, Checking in to see how your enjoying the Transit?? Our VW caddy is about ready to hit the road. Hammond bed installed. How are you getting on with the Cello? have you used an out door didital magnet aerial?
Hey 👋 Yeah all good with the Custom. Great daily driver and work van for my wife using it every day.. We have been away a few times and all good… Cello is good… digital aerial OK have found signal strength can be a bit hit and miss in different locations 👍 Great your Caddy almost done be great see it all done if you want to post over any pics. Thanks again for checking out the vid and comments and support… happy travels!! 👍
Can i ask - how does the blind stay up when you drive.....what prevents it from unrolling - is it just the friction between the carpeted trunking and the blind?
Hey 👋 Thanks for the comment and checking out the videos! The blind has a spring loaded action so it stays in the location you leave it… so up, down, half way etc… the only thing I wish I had done was put some foam tape inside the mechanism at the top as the metal string does rattle against the casing of the blind a bit when driving 👍
hi mate excellent channel enjoyed watching pretty much most of it. what do you do regarding the interior sensors activating when you lock the doors when inside ? i know on mine (2017) i can deactivate through the control buttons but have to do it every time i unlock and lock.
Hi - thanks for the comment and checking out the channel 👍 To be honest I don’t think we have locked it from the inside 😃 So not noticed it as an issue for us (so far 🤞) we haven’t had it auto lock either? Sorry I can’t help direct let me know how you get on of you find anything 👍
@@damok71000 ah that’s amazing thank you! Hope you happy with your build 👍 We would love to do another some day just can’t afford a base van 😂 Thanks again and happy adventures 👍
Hello May I please ask, does your van have barn doors and if so what size blinds did you need to buy, only off to ikea tomorrow to buy some only font know the size to buy. Many thanks in advance
Hi - thanks for the comment and checking out the video 👍 Yes my van does have barn doors BUT I am afraid I don’t have any windows in the back so not sure what size to buy, sorry 😢 hope you can get one to fit and make it work! I believe the blinds can be trimmed down also as I have seen other people do this also 👍
Hello Dave! I have a quick question, but not really relating to this video. I've used the same electrical setup as you and I have been wondering, will the 240v system work if I am not on a mains hook up at a campsite?
Hey Daryl - thanks for the comment 👍 No it won’t. If you want to run the 240 side off your leisure battery you would need an inverter as part of the setup. I haven’t installed one myself as only done the odd one night off grid and also on sites we usually have an electric hook up 👍 I don’t think inverters are that difficult to install - but might need a beefy leisure battery if you planning to use it a lot a rekon 👍
Hi Roy - I used the 100cm width. The drop is the same for all at 155cm. It’s the Hoppval blind from IKEA on link below 👇 www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hoppvals-room-darkening-cellular-blind-grey-20386421/#content
@Transit Custom Camper Conversion 100cm you mean. Thank you. I intend to fit them to my rear quarter along with the tail gate. Seeking the measurements in order to pre order parts
@@royclark8385 hi Roy… Yes sorry cm 😂 it’s still early.. I think the narrowest they do is 60cm. Good luck on the install of them was telly happy with how ours turned out… one thing I didn’t cover in the video is there is a spring inside blind mechanism that can rattle a bit - so it’s a bit fiddly but putting some Capet in there to keep it all snug and no rattles when driving 👍
@Transit Custom Camper Conversion I am awaiting delivery of my van so cannot actual measure things at the moment. I believe the rear quarters are the same size as the sliding door window, and the tailgate needing an additional 20cm in width. I want to order early so as not to get caught with supply issues.
Ah OK 👍 - I have got another one that I ordered for the sliding door that I haven’t fit yet but this one is 80cm to fit on the sliding door in my 2014 Custom if that helps too 👍
Hi Paul - thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I have had a change in personal circumstances that has impacted my personal life and ability to create more content. Thanks for checking out the videos though and hopefully I’ll be in a position to make more content in the future
Hi Betty - thanks for the message 👍 I don’t do installs and work on other peoples vans sorry this was just work I did on my own van and shared the videos. There is a good Facebook group I am part of and if you posted there you might get someone who could help or suggest a conversion company facebook.com/groups/1474397155918664/?ref=share

That looks awesome, would be nice to see if you could fit a fly screen also.
Thanks for the comment 👍 yeah that’s a good point… I might have to do a follow up video on that too 😃
I sat through the videos looking to see how you fastened the furniture to the floor but no such luck.

What length shade did you get? Are you able to cut it down? I can only find 64”.
The one I got was 100cm but they can be cut down also I believe 👍
