this was honestly so useful. I'm 13 and am just starting bmx (I can barely bunny hop yet :D), and this is officially the first trick I can consistently do, plus it looks pretty cool. Thanks very much!
Keep practising it! You will get better at it, your muscles will remember the position (muscle memory) and with time you'll be able to roll it for as long as you like.
As for spinning, look at my how to Back wheel turbine video, I think I explained it in that one...let me know if you want more info though, and I'll make a separate video :)
The time when I was learning rocket manuals when I was 15 and found out you don't want 2 feet on the pegs ... my ankle sounded like a shotgun. It's amazing it didn't break. haha.
Ouch! I hope your ankle is good now haha. It's definitely easier to learn and balance with one foot on the Peg. But this trick can also be done with two feet! Just takes some more practice.
My pleasure! and of course will be no problem, I bet you can already roll these! And from speaking to older riders, getting riding will only make you feel younger :D 👊 Inspirational dude! keep riding!
True haha, but I think any trick where four of your limbs are on the bike, will be the toughest as then you balance through your core. With tricks like this and a hang 5 for example, your free leg acts like a pendulum to correct your balance
Yeah I think the name depends on your location, like when bunnyhops are called j-hops by some, or lard yards are gerators, same trick different name. Thank you!
1:08 in. When i try this on the scooter what i find is teh whole thing wants to twist in toward the peg the foot is on. Keeping the scooter vertical and nto letting it twis side ways is insanely hard. To clarify i'm trying to translate flatland bmx tricks to a 16 inch scooter, which being alot lighte rthan a bmx make it a lot harder haha. So how do you stop the bmx twisting toward the weight? Like at 3:18. I can barely stand on the peg without that happening haha. Good vid by teh way.
Thank you g! Okay, interesting question! Honestly I've never thought about flatland on a scooter other than seeing my friends do some decades, but that is awesome that you are doing this!! Would love to check out some clips when you start uploading them. So let me think, scooter wheels are super small and thin, which means they will not be very stable and their point of contact with the ground is super minimal, which I think will make everything much more difficult to learn, but! nothing is impossible and if you believe you can do something, you got it. Mindset is half the battle :) I would say you need to be stronger and more stable with your arms to compensate for less stability through your wheel (and the build of the scooter not being the best for balancing one wheel, but hey people still nose manny and stuff!). You are falling when just standing on the peg because all your weight is focused on that point, so you need to push with your opposite arm to keep the wheel centered on the floor. Make sense? And most important...Keep practicing!!!
Get stronger, or get a bike your size. But either way the more you practice the more bike control you will develop, and the stronger you'll get in doing these specific movements. But I would recommend getting a bike that you are comfortable on if possible. And working on your fitness not just for strength, but also for general health :)
In personal experience aluminium, its the lightest and most durable. Plastic pegs tend to give after a while and snap or wear down, but if you also want to grind then plastics wouldn't be a bad choice
im kinda old for this game. but no hurting to try😋 i changed my stem for a 20 something mm because im using a 20.4 tt wtp frame. so this trick is the first one huh. hope to see more beginner's trick.
Exactly! No age is too old, you are only as old as you feel. If you must slow down your riding, but no reason to stop if you love it :D If there are any tricks you are learning that I havent done a video on just let me know
Make sure you have a straight foot placement on the peg... so you want the ball of your foot on the peg, and you can rest your shoe against the frame to be sure it stays straight. Your leg shouldn't rub though if you're going in a straight line, only other thing I can think of is to wear skinnier pants, that's why you see most BMX'ers wearing skinny jeans lol

Thanks for this I’m getting a bike again and I’m rusty at tricks been like 6 years and some of those tricks I never learned lol thank you!
My pleasure bro! It's all just about how much you commit to a trick and practice, anything is possible and it's never too late to get back to it 😁 💯👊🏻
I can do it only for 2 seconds max :P I am learning i just started... Btw how do you spin while yu Rocket Menual ? can you make a tutorial ?
Keep practising it! You will get better at it, your muscles will remember the position (muscle memory) and with time you'll be able to roll it for as long as you like.

Excellent tutorial!
Thanks for this. I'm a newbie at (almost) 50... this seems safe enough to try at my age. :D

I think that Peg Manual/Wheelie is when you stand on one foot (peg) using second one to balance, and Rocket Manual is when u stand on both feet (pegs)
I think it all depends where you're from, for example in Japan they call steamrollers "steamers" 👌
It’s funny that this is easier then the actual manual
True haha, but I think any trick where four of your limbs are on the bike, will be the toughest as then you balance through your core. With tricks like this and a hang 5 for example, your free leg acts like a pendulum to correct your balance
I would have called it a dork wheelie. Great video

nice video bro :)
Thank you bro!
If a bike the bigger than you what can I do to pop the wheel up?

What is the best material for the pegs

Thanks, I hurt myself lol
I hope you're good dude! Get up & try again
Does chainstay lenght is matter to do a wheelie?

Keep trying them anywhere you go, once you can lock into the right position you'll be able to roll them forever
Thank you bro

how do you keep the tyre from rubbing your leg on the peg??
