      probably still like shit because of consoles and lack of semen in developers nutsack in order to push PC graphics and hardware. I asked my self the same thing in 2010 and now it's almost 2020, what happened in 10 years? nothing, a new generation of garbage consoles with outdated hardware will be shit out by sony and microsoft and we'll get the same graphics for the next 10 years and PC versions will be downgraded for parity and other nonsense reasons.

      There's a story to this. The guy's speech talks about humanity's ambition leading to self-destruction, but then goes on to say we can't live without them and we must save *her.* In the shot inside the car, its revealed they're rushing a female human infant into that building. Judging by the speech, I'd surmise she's the very last human, or one of the very last. The guy narrating isn't human, as he calls humans their "creators". It's really neat how they managed to give us such a captivating universe in only a few minutes.

      Not by a long shot, but, I think I got what you meant by that, and, if you're interested, quixel have the Quixel Mixer software, which let you do texture authoring, by blending scans, or by procedural workflows, really powerful, and it's free while the beta is running, recommend checking it out bud

      @Astitva Verma it's not just about models being modeled. This is also about shaders, color and light setup.
      Photogrametry and scans just help to get started with the asset. The rest is the work of artists and engineers to make it work together.

      @Andrew Pingwin Depends how well it integrates into developer’s workflows. The way you said your original comment is kinda off putting. We probably won’t see games taking full advantage of geometry streaming and lumen type GI for another 5-7 years, but lumen and nanite are already happening. What you’re seeing here and in UE5 will be taken advantage of immediately by people in the ArchViz & Virtual production industries

      We are getting pretty close! Too bad AAA game developers are too focused on money and don't care much about the game itself nowerdays. (With exeptions). Some indi developers have made some incredibly realistic games/demos similar to this but usually on a smaller scale

      The thing is finding ways to break our limits in even unnoticeable details can improve performances in lower qualities by just using new methods for easier calculations, so it's always worth it to try and go beyond what is currently possible even if human eye can't see the difference.

      Francisco Cruz I have some of the scan they used. In 4K and I can tell you that if look at them as close as the video. It’s not that sharp. I will be really surprised if they used 4K textures for closer shots and heroes assets.

      @@Young_Special I've been recently making some stuff at Blender and I look at my Cycles render and I said to my self "wow, I can't wait to see this graphics at real time graphics" then they announce the UE5 and it was awesome af and I still can't wait to see games made with UE5.
