So now realtime cg is rivaling the visual effects industry.
it's still the same industry tho
Don't think this is real time at all
This is realtime? wtf
DJordydj They said it was...
DJordydj it is real time...
This looks absolutely incredible. Indistinguishable from real life.
right! because it uses Quixel's library of "photogrammetry" scanned assets from the real world so rightfully so
Only to the untrained eye.
Wrong? Untrained eye? Tf, the only way to tell the difference is if you spent long enough looking at each frame, I guarantee if you saw a video with colour corrected real life footage and this all edited into one video you couldn't tell the difference.
@@linuxafrica2584 You're very naive. Just because you can't tell the difference doesn't mean others can't. I work with CGI and no matter how photorealistic graphics seem to be there's always something "off" about them.
@@douchymcdouche169 I also work in 3d, I'm just a student atm but what did I say that was niave???
After seeing the UE5 and UE4 demos, I feel like UE6 will make games indistinguishable from reality in graphical fidelity. God bless these hard working people

When I thought Cryengine upped their game...
This is unreal!
pun intended?
Good pun but just to be sure, this isn't real time rendering for gameplay or anything :P
@@MrCrashystyle On the video description, it says "Introducing Rebirth, a real-time cinematic produced by Quixel, harnessing the power of Unreal Engine and real-world scans from the Megascans Icelandic collection."
Doesn't this mean it's rendered in real-time?
@@LRdenve oh wow, I read over that, well... I was wrong, apologies... But I don't think this will be the state of game graphics all too soon (could be wrong though)
MrCringeyStyle it’s real time
Unreal Engine wtf no way!! this is insane
So........ Please , now we are waitting a Making off !
Hell yeah!
Francisco Cruz One thing I’m almost sure is that they used 8k textures. Scans looks really sharp.
Francisco Cruz I have some of the scan they used. In 4K and I can tell you that if look at them as close as the video. It’s not that sharp. I will be really surprised if they used 4K textures for closer shots and heroes assets.
@Francisco Cruz Most online Quixel demos use 8K and 16K textures.
@@hurrdurrimaburr Unreal Engine doesn't even support 16k textures. Im guessing the ones for the close up shots were 4k to 8k, LOD0 while the rest were probably LOD1-3 1-2k.
When Oblivion meets Blade Runner.

Beautiful piece. Music is also amazing and has Hans Zimmer / Interstellar vibes
For those wondering about the song, the original song name is Fading Sun by Terje Isungset but it has been reworked by the artist Jason Gallaty a.k.a. "Theophany". He's credited at the end of the video and as far as I can tell this track has yet to be released.
