    Hey bud,
    In regards to income protection, I understand you can't accumulate sick leave or annual leave entitlements.
    However, would I have to exhaust my sick leave at work before I make a claim for income protection?
    I haven't found a solid answer to this question.

    Big trap to look out for is pre disability income calculation… it’s calculated over 12 months prior date of injury. Total BS they don’t care about policy amount u might of covered yourself for.

    I was advised as I don’t work 30+hrs I did not qualify, which seems pretty unfair particularly if you a single parent.

      Hi Louise, it is hard for stay at home parents. There are some insurers that will provide Income Protection if you work a minimum of 15 hours per week. Otherwise it can be beneficial to apply for additional Trauma and TPD cover to allow for income replacement.

      @@GuidedInvestor I don’t see myself as a stay home mum as I do work, just lucky enough I can afford to part time. I do have trauma cover and I am lucky to have plenty of leave up my sleeve.
