I recall that same feeling of Into the Drowning Deep. I loved it. But that ending was one of the most jolting reading experiences I'd had in awhile. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't enough

omg please please read the lottery by Shirley Jackson!!! it genuinely made me fall in love with her writing and I finally understand the hype! I didn't fully connect with the spooky elements of the haunting of hill house as I was comparing it way too much to the series as I stupidly didn't understand they were very different😭 but I cannot recommend the lottery enough!! the suspense and genuine fear I experienced in such a short form of literature is unmatched! it is one of my fave horrors!

Riley sager does actually have a book which has a paranormal explanation! I won't say which one cause it spoils the whole book but just make your way through his backlist and you'll find it eventually 😅
I had the same thoughts about Into the Drowning Deep! Although I gave it five stars because, even though the ending was abrupt, I absolutely couldn’t put this book down.

I participated in Summer Ween for the first time this summer..I am a Halloween lover!! I chose Salt and Broom by Sharon Lynn Fisher..Hollowed, shade, murder in the Villa and psycho. Loved them all and I wore a Summerween shirt and sipped on pumpkin spice coffee all week while listening to Halloween music in background. Salt and Broom was my favorite but they all were good!
I was so bored with final girl support group- but enjoyed seeing the little crumbs of my favorite slasher films
This was awesome. How could I not have known about Summerween? Great book choices. I read Through the Woods by Emily Carroll and loved it so I will definitely have to pick up A Guest in the House. Also loved all the Halloweenie stuff!!!❤
Yess for me the ending of Into The Drowning Deep was SO ABRUPT and the big reveal included was so lackluster lol

The first time I watched Sleepaway Camp, my reaction at the end was "What the fuck did I just watch." Though the twist didn't surprise me because I paid too much attention in the beginning and was like "That's weird." It's definitely an experience!
