Here's a video where I install every major Windows version from Windows 1.01 all the way up to Windows 11, with a clean wipe for Windows XP x64 Edition. Please note that NT 4.0 and 2000 were not included due to their nature as server-focused systems. VMware Fusion was used to do this video.

i need 5 years, in college to install that windows, damn.
it may be too late to put a warning in the beggining of the video, but i doubt someone would check the comments first to see this notice if they actually have these conditions, but i also doubt it will do a lot of harm so it does not matter

Today I will show the Windows 1.01 to 11 installer. Who is viewing this video?
First, I appreciate the amount of work that this must have taken.
Second, seeing the windows 8 setup brought back some fond memories, back before I found out how crap windows 8 really was.
Lastly, could you imagine the look on the face of the windows analytics team when they see a computer pulling repository files and reporting core Windows.old files containing software signatures from windows 1.01?
And also basically ever other windows version lol
Well I did erase the drive when installing XP, as it was a x64 version making it impossible to upgrade.
Windows 8.1 wasn't so bad. I loved how responsive it was
@@firebrand981 Responses Is Good On Windows 8 👍. But The Removal of Start button and Metro Apps. BIG DISLIKE 👎
Edit : The start button is back on 8.1

Watched XP installation at 0.25 speed. Drove me straight to nostalgia.
Omg, back in the day I install windows XP almost every week trying custom iso, or just because I felt my 256MB too slow for MOHAA :')

That deserve a like for sure... So much time spent on this video! We all appreciate your work!
I love these kinds of videos. Great job!!
Wow! I just absolutely love computers and building stuff with it, I don't know what I'd have done if there were no computers! Thanks Microsoft!
the only thing microsoft doesn't ruin is f windows everything else is a trash can.
Installed Win 3.11 once with 11 floppy disks :). Windows 95 was such a huge milestone and afaik the first time they introduced "plug and play".
I love Win 3.11. The best OS ever. I only missed the multimedia support. Every think you want with one click or a bit of typing in DOS. I loved windows Mail, Winchat, Winpop. These days you have to buy such programms...
@@andreasreich9585 Mozilla thunderbird and Hexchat are open source. Matrix is a really good replacement for winpop, even though the winpop functionality still exists in windows 11
It's interesting that only XP was able to automatically fetch the display drivers and set the correct resolution, every other version of windows just used the default fallback resolution and would probably need windwso update/ manual install to get the drivers working correctly.
I manually set the resolution on Windows XP. Then I decided to stay with 1024x768 for the rest of the OSes for consistency.
@@NobelTech I see, that makes sense.
well win10 and win11 have basic drivers to work with GPUs somewhat with network cards. My I had to installed drivers for it. Meanwhile windows will search for the driver for that gpu. i tried out win 11 i will wait until next build number.
"windwso"
Actually, no.
Only Windows 10+ is able to fetch drivers. Windows 8.1 and below will used default drivers. It was just that those has better and more default drivers built in.
This is absolutely brilliant stuff! I love it
Hatts off to your patience... I really appreciate your work👍👍
So Fantastic!!! Windows 95 was my first OS while I was kid! Even I used Windows 7 for long time till quit Microsoft and purchased for MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina Display early 2013 with OS X Mountain Lion! Now I using Windows 10 for gaming laptop which one I bought it few months ago! Love to see evolution of Windows but I still miss Windows 7 and 95 too! you did very good job with this videos!
Where's your computer you used windows 95
Do MacBooks automatically relpace every . with !
now in windows you can make a rounded taskbar using 1 program from the microsoft store-

For me, It was Windows XP
Dude imagine if the music changed with the windows version. Maybe with quality too. Going from oldest to newest. It would be like watching the hardware evolve along windows
My friend: Why did you watch this to the end?
Me: Yes
Oh yes, the windows xp installer, my favorite one, I didn't use windows xp but I like the set up process just because how simple it looks unlike windows 10

I used for so long Windows 7 that the jump to 8.1 and furthermore to 10 surprised me a lot. Nice job.

Not the music...
2:44 best windows ever
Lol, it is getting longer and longer :D Amazing work man.
What I've learned from this video is that the newer the version of windows is, the longer it is to install.
Just because it's size is more
Windows 7 size is 3.5 GB and windows 11 size is 5.12 GB
Well, it's also on a virtual machine, so this doesn't account for the changes in processor and hard drive speeds over the years.
siempre recordaremos a windows 7, y windows 10 por darnos la atenciuon suficiente y ayudarnos en muchas cosas como trabajos, tareas, ect, an sido las mejores verciones de windows
Sí estoy de acuerdo.
Agreed.
Oddly satisfying. Nicely done 😎
Great efforts man
Could you keep all the files from Windows 1 in Windows 11? I think that if you choose upgrade every time ( I couldn’t see if you chose upgrade or custom because it was really fast ) and you write a text document in Windows 1 you will be able to read it in Windows 11
The 2GB FAT16 drive was nuked when updating to Windows XP from Windows ME. As Windows XP was an x64 version, Vista x64 required a clean install, then every version after that was a proper upgrade.
@ Kindagamer there aint any windows 11 x32 isos that i know of

Hello, a query, how did you do to install Windows 11 without its official launch?
Most probably using insider builds.
superb dude love it!!!
Thanks for the flash back
Would've been cool if you'd have created a file in Win1 and had it remain accessible in each iteration throughout the in-place upgrades through to Win11.
thats a great idea
don’t think it’s possible due to the 32 bit to 64 bit wipe between me and xp
@@thatesc Good point - I hadn't considered that. I suppose it'd be possible up to Win10 - as 32-bit was still available, and there was always an upgrade path from the 16-bit era to 32-bit. It was only with Win 11 that 32-bit wasn't an option.
5:46 lol
dont know why but after seeing all the old windows installation even the windows 11 installation is giving me nostalgia
Windows xp installation brought so many memories..
as my windows 98 pc had some problems I had to install xp frequently
Where is the full video? I want more than just a timelapse
Slow down playback speed to 0.25×
@1:09 Better Games...... imagine that being the selling point when you think back to that time XD
I mean it was... 98 had better support for DirectX and other APIs. Its cool to think that in the late 90s early 2000s pc gaming was huge (that time had so many cool advances in tech I would say ended around 2007 and became kind of stagnant after that). 2005 being my favorite year, the rise of the first dual core cpu, SLI, and games like HL2

Best VIDEO EVER I love your videos And you Have Cool Videos and pls do installing windows 10 to windows xp
I love how regular windows 8 was just skipped. That was just how terrible it was.
I remember when XP came out. It was awesome for the time. I even avoided Vista due to how well the Pc was ajusted.
It's been so long since I used older Windows versions that I hadn't realized just how vague the details shared by the installer had gotten over the years. Particularly from 8 on.
i think if you install from a live cd/usb you'll still have more details. its just that it's from the desktop i think
Man i really loved these days
This is so satisfying
Thanx...You make me realize, I even come from the pre-windows era (ms-dos 3.1)...
