I was in the market for a planner to plan out our finances - I was willing to shell out $20+ for a fancy one. And while I was in Dollar Tree, I saw their little 2-year pocket calendars. It was just what I was looking for! And perhaps also served as a lesson in finances ;) lol

just got home from dollar tree (2-8-2023) 8 people stocking aisles 2 registers open. got tissues, barbie clothes for christmas, packing tape, scotch tape and rolled wrapping paper.
Dollar tree has a stronger version of the broom hangers in the garden section, they appear to be upgraded.
I’m in Canada and we have neither store but I watch because I love your ideas and mostly your energy and uplifting personality. Times are tough and you always manage to brighten my mood. Thank you for being you ❤
We do have Dollar Tree in Canada; well in Western Canada we do. Prices went up from $1.25 to $1.50 when they went up in the US. Some items are still a $1.25 though. Now we don’t have as much food. Most of the US DT I went to (in Washington state and in NYC) had fresh food and a freezer section; we don’t have that in Canada. Also, in the past few years, I can’t find as much pharmacy stuff here in BC.

@@tamarAW515 Too bad! I love Dollar Tree. Now I hit Dollarama too. And being originally from Québec where Dollarama started, I still patronize them. But I am careful about what I buy there cause some items are $5 nowadays. Of course, we also have a few other franchises of dollar stores and some independent ones. But I love love Dollar Tree! It’s actually in my instagram bio! And I go to a bunch of different ones around greater Vancouver (I live in BC). They don’t all have the same merch. I currently live between 2 Dollar Trees that are less than 1.5km from my home, and I often go to both. And they both have Dollarama across the street, so I go there too.
I’m in Australia and we have “$2 shops” yet most items are more expensive than that. We have one called “Ten Tops” and some things are good for under $10 so things aren’t very well made.
We have Target yet not the same range as American stores.
There aren’t as many stores here at the moment.
I use the flexible cutting mats for my wire shelves. I bought hanging wire shelves from ALDI last year, and while my jars fit on it well, they rattle as they scrape over the wires. I cut the Flexible cutting mat to the inner dimention and use the shiny side up and now my jars glide into place and don't rattle and clink anymore. Also use in the wire basket that holds my onions, no onion skin raining down! LOL
I also put them on top of the Dollar Tree shelf Risers. In my cabinet, i keep a lot of measuring cup volumes: 1 cup, 2 cup, 4 cup and the little ones that measure mL , ounces, Tablespoons, etc. . Same issue: the glass cups rattle on the shelf riser, but also my shelf is unfinished but I don't want to put contact paper down just yet. Using the flexible cutting mat, cut to the inside of the shelf floor and the size of the shelf riser, I can easily glide the cups in and out AND if the cups are a bit wet still from washing, it doesnt' ruin the shelf with a few drops of water.

Do the dollar tree pop up baskets fit in the cubby shelves?
I’m a notebook junky and nobody has better ones. The one with the snap is a favorite. The composition books are a must if you are a list maker. One for each and so many decorated covers! The calendars that fold in half flat are awesome. Again one for each need: log for a pet, track your own health, one to keep with your bills (what is due when, when you mailed what), one as a follow up reminder for things you need to check on.
The best part of your videos is always the end. You are enough. And today? You are more than enough!
Oh, almost forgot the must have duck tape (I know it’s duct) from the automotive section. So many colors and patterns. The possibilities are endless.
I don’t watch all the videos that I have subscriptions to every day but I always watch Do It On a Dime! Good tips and the videos aren’t too long.

Don’t worry, it took a long time for my dollar tree to get the 5$ section too!! Mine slowly started getting random things for 5$. It’s still nothing amazing, just a few items; but I’m sure they’ll come soon for you too!!

Those chop mats are so useful. The speech pathologist at my school uses them for picture exchange communication boards. I found out they had run out of the ones they used to get and couldn't find them without a texture. So I directed them to Dollar Tree and now we will be able to help so many kids in our special needs school communicate.

Tfs. I go to the Dollar Tree store more often now than I have ever before, I love all of the cheap bins that I was getting at Walmart. Plus our Dollar Tree has the new slim hangers that will create more space in your closet and things will not slide off. And I can get 30 for 5.00 and Walmart has them and they are 30 for 15.00. I really love my Dollar Tree. My only problem is that they sell false nails but not the glue and I really don't care for the makeup because they barely have any in the store. TFS.

You can buy the Plus items on their website now! You still have to buy a case sometimes of smaller items which isn't a great deal if you don't need that many but some things are still min qty of 1.
Wish my local stores had the bonus section. The comparison between dt and target was a great deal and ideas thanks for all you do.

I used the broom handle hack but I used them to hang curtains since I’m a renter and it’s PERFECT! since I can’t put holes in my wall it works so so well!

The Dollar Tree rubber broom head is great for removing ‘stuff’ that gets stuck in microfiber towels. I brush down my microfiber down so all the debris doesn’t clog my washing machine and attract mold growth.

Check your local stores to see what day their trucks deliver. Wait a day then go shopping. If my D&Q ($ & quarter) store is going to get it, it will likely be there that day. Our local store is kind of little so there are a lot of great things I see in DIOAD videos that I never find here. 😉

I always love your dollar tree hacks! One thing I’d like to try are those cute daisy bins to organize my apothecary herbs and essential oils. I legit have an apothecary and the jars are all in a large bookshelf, except the oils, with glass doors so u can see all the clutter. I might also try hanging some of the small bins for my tiny bottles. Thanks for the inspiration!

I just found a stiff bristle cobweb duster in DT. We live in a log cabin and all cloth and other dusters leave debris behind on the all wood walls. This stiff bristle brush works great!

Another quick idea for your fresh sheets, sprinkle a little baby or bath powder on your fitted sheets. They feel like silk and smell good too.
As someone with psoriasis, I could never do this! I also want to add that some years ago it was found that baby powder can and has caused cancer.

Yeah I love watching these videos seeing all the great fines at the dollar tree and in target dollar spot. Then I go in my local dollar trees multiple trees and don’t find any of the products. Then I go in target and I’m lucky if I find one or two of the products. I’m so glad you’re able to find all of these great finds. I sure wish I could sometime.

Personally, I LOVE the Target Y-weave baskets because they are much stronger than the Dollar Tree ones. But we don't have a Dollar Tree Plus near us, so the $5 ones might be better!
I agree! DT baskets tend to be made of cheaper plastic, and break easily.

The Dollar Tree hooks did not hold up for me in high traffic areas aka my children. I don't mind spending a few more dollars on 3M hooks(been using them for over 25 years).
At the end you showed the target caddy and I just bought one bc it’s not divided and my cleaners finally fit!!!! Divided DT caddies never hold all my supplies bc of the shapes and sizes of bottles being so different. I love that I can throw whatever in my Target caddy!

Thanks for the comparisons. I really don't shop at Target as much as I used to. They were always a little pricier than the Walmarts and Dollar Tree type stores, but I'm noticing the difference even more so. It seems like they see themselves as a boutique anymore.
