Wow you're bloody brilliant! I'm a near 60 new to art learner. You do make it look easy, and I'm not giving up and intend to subscribe as soon as I Work out this process- don't ask,ha ha, I'm THE most technologically challenged grandma there could be!!! But I will be Inspired by your talent and good company to enjoy, well done 👍🇦🇺👵
Oh yeah no prob. I used a piece of old t-shirt. I balled it up in my hand in such a way as to leave a smoother less crinkled part of the rag facing outward to dab the wall with. The rag was soaked in water and rung out to begin and then I barely dipped the rag in the same white paint as the stars and blended it out over more concentrated areas of stars. A little bit goes a long way. having a dry rag makes it harder to blend softly and having it very wet makes it hard also. Thanks for watching.
Come on...this wasn't boring at all! It's actually the VERY best video on all of You Tube on how to easily give a painted star, what's the sound you made? "Speeew" aka 'twinkle' Anyway, as a lefty, even though you called it out, it was great to see a mural painter, use the left hand. Also love the NO gloves, friends give me the wrath for my sometimes 'paint' hands over my manicures :) To me there's nothing like feeling the paint as you smudge ok blend into wall. Truthfully, I've never painted until I watched 1 of your videos, (you were doing a convenience store (I believe) mural. Anyway, now I've painted & repainted my garage walls. I still suck, technically, but I LOVE IT! I've learned alot from your video's, thanks for the inspiration. This new hobby couldn't have happened at a better time in my life! Thank You
1:14 can confirm. Works better with the proper sound effect. Thank you for this video. My sons night sky looks so much better with some twinkle stars instead of just white dots everywhere
Boring!? You're a fantastic artist! I do a lot of artwork for people, but I've learned a lot of techniques from your videos that I had never used before.
Whaaat? It's not boring O: Thank you for making this video, I'm going to paint a space mural in my room 'cause I want it space themed and this was just what I was looking for!
Here I am, three years later. I was thinking, perhaps you could spray a little pink/purple/green paint from a distance, (with a spraycan) so you get that spacey light-glow-things. You're the man Joe!
This is far from a boring video, thank you for sharing this, I am going to attempt to paint a room like this for my kids. I hope mine turns out as cool as yours did! Do you have a video of how you did the rest of the painting? Also did you just basically "splash" the paint on the wall to give the star affect?
Hey thanks for this! On your video during the timelapse at 3:23 you get a rag to make a cloudy look to give your stars a galaxy feel. Can I ask more specifically how you did that? Thanks!
that's hard to understand...but you can use a toothbrush. A big paintbrush is best though. Watch my other video, How to paint stars in space. Thank you for that funny comment.
Hi great videos Bravo! Can i use water if i use glow in the dark paint or should i use something else to thin the paint? Thanks in advance. Its guys like you that make the rest of us want to have a go. Thanks
Sorry Mural Joe, I forgot to be bored - but I didn't forget to make that cool whoosing sound while I was practicing painting twinkling stars. The sound effects made them even better!
so when painting the sky from the ground looking up would you transition from a darkish black blue to a dark black or would it stay black or stay blue only? how would you transision from color to color making it not look weird?
... and just have been inspired to go against everything my parents have ever told me not to do and am putting a mural on my basement walls. haha Now my bedroom will be day themed and my basement night themed.
I've been painting and selling space-scenes for years now. It's a little embarassing, but I've never been able to paint twinkling stars until I saw your video. You got a gift kid. You could make a living off of these. P.S. Please excuse the ridiculous username. My nephew suggested it.
Those aren't twinkles. When you see that in a photo it is an artifact of high powered light gathering telescopes and those are the struts holding the secondary mirror. Twinkles are when a star gets dimmer or brighter due to atmospheric convection. But I still enjoy your videos.
Love the sound effects! Very essential part of the process.❤️
You are never boring...one of my favorite you tube artists.
This is NOT boring at all! Thank you! I've been searching on how to make a Bethlehem star and you nailed it. Much appreciated! :)
I love looking at the stars. This is beautiful in my eyes.
