    When eating mochi, it's 90% of time not powder sugar, but the rice flour. Because of it the mochi doesnt stick to your fingers or whatever, that's why they put that flour on it

    Not exactly fruit onigiri, but there are sticky rice and fruit desserts from Thailand that are pretty good! The one that I usually see is coconut sticky rice with mango. If you're looking for something more similar to onigiri, there a lot of sweet "onigiri" style desserts that are wrapped in bamboo/banana leaves in a lot of other Asian cultures such as Vietnam, Thailand, and China. These usually don't come with fruit but I think Thailand might have a banana one(?) not too sure on that tho

      The one that is "just melon, in English..." was a "crown melon pancake" so I assume it's kinda like a dorayaki with melon and cream instead of the usual.

    Hey Mudan just a fun fact about banana flavor. The banana flavor you called most artificial out there is actually the original taste of bananas. But due to the large amount of cultivation the bananas grew resistant to the pesticide or something used against the funghi that grew on them, and they went extinct. So the reason bananas taste different to it's flavoring is because todays bananas taste different to old bananas and the flavouring is based on the old ones.

    Rice with fruit? There are mochi variations with fruit slices inside, but I believe you'd mostly find them in a specialty shop. On that note, if you haven't yet, try going to an onigiri store somewhere for more options!

  • @elementneon

    When I think of onigiri I think of rice and seaweed, and seaweed would be terrible matched with fruit. You could make a fruit rice ball on your own though to see if it would be good, would give a day's worth of content.

    Hmmm I wonder what season it'll be when I go over end of Sept beginning of October? 🤔 I'm the kind of gal who finds something I like then I obsess over it & never want to eat anything else, so the changing of products so frequently would be awful for me. I probably would never try anything seasonal and stick to staples to ensure I don't get frequently disappointed 😕

    Fun useless fact, banana flavor isn't "the most artificial" it's just based on a flavor of banana none of us have ever tried because overfarming + other factors made it go extinct lmao so we just have no idea what the OG flavor is supposed to taste like

    • @secretasianman108
      @secretasianman108 5 месяцев назад +1

      So it is the most artificial then, just not by choice. Because there's literally no chance of that extinct banana being in it. And with every iteration, it has gotten more artificial. As it's been decades since the banana went bye-bye, the frame of reference for banana flavored products, can only be, other banana flavored products.

    • @psycofire93
      @psycofire93 5 месяцев назад

      @@secretasianman108 well I mean, when people say it’s super artificial it’s because it tastes “fake” because it doesn’t taste like the bananas we have around. That’s all. You’re right but also it changes based on perspective.
      Like blue raspberry. That’s artificial as hell. Because that straight up doesn’t exist (but god I love it)
