Poor guy. He's trying to make the best of the spotlight to introduce the game in a few mins and she's doing a reaction video impression and endlessly harps about animal husbandry because she has no idea what to ask.

Civ is Civ. It's very clear that Firaxis and Amplitude have friendly relations and have been swapping ideas since at least Endless Legend, which innovated districts, something Civ 6 made its own. Firaxis' iteration of evolving civs will have their own spin on it and play and feel different from Amplitude's version. Nobody owns a gameplay mechanic just as nobody owns the idea of a historical 4x strategy game.
Civ is 4x. This one is a Grand Strategy game.
Kinda wished she would have asked real questions instead of constantly making “I’m pretending to listen to you” noises.
P.s no combat gameplay?

What does annoy me is, that he praises basic functions of a 4x game and presents it as something new. The lady also needed either be quiet or ask real questions, not cheerleading.

not to be mean but as some constructive criticism, IGN needs to tell their "journalists" to shut up and let them show the game. Freaking Laa-Laa hair here just keeps interrupting the guy. Just shut your mouth and let him present the game

No offense, legit, but the interviewer was very annoying, constantly making noises and interruptions. Just let the dev talk and present the game. No need for constant interjections.
As a foreigner it's hard to understand with this woman making noises and small comments for every single word the guy says. So annoying.

The noises that the host makes to react to each and every thing he says, the bad questions, makes it difficult to hear the man and get to know the game. He could have presented himself. Why is she even there?

SIMULTANEOUS TURN its groundbreaking for 4x strategy games like this. Waiting for computer player turns in CIV games is torture especially when playing 16 players map
The concept itself has been around for a long time but never implemented (well at least) in a 4X game.

why did the choose the wife of a dictator for argentina, its like putting eva braun as a character for germany. We have a guy who crossed the Andes to fight royalists and freed several countries, maybe they could study a tiny bit of our history before choosing.

Diplomacy... Diplomacy wants a word with you.
You give orders on your turn and then between turns the orders get "resolved". If they clash with another player's orders then there can be conflict and they are resolved by a combination of stats and chance.
this looks better than civ 7 somehow, probably because of the small details in the cities, makes the world come to life

The most innovation in historical grand strategy 4x games appears to be with Ara, but it is funny how they load up a game as the Germans and mention many German leaders except Hateler. We can be mature enough to mention that it is because of the German law specifically that this is so.

So how does combat work with simultaneous turns?
if your units meet and are in a war. they fight, depending on unit speed, they might be able to escape. Basically, T1 warrior vs scout. The scout can escape. Look up their last video talking about A3
