The directors for this show need to direct Fallout 5, I mean Fallout 4, 3, New Vegas, are great but the story and execution and detail to story in this actually surprised me because I'm a huge Fallout Fan

I know you’ve already finished the show, but basically the games are an anthology series. It’s always a new story in the world. All game players get from the show new viewers don’t is some basic lore stuff like the pre war corporations, post war factions, post war cultural stuff, and things like what ghouls are.
Everything else is fair game.
I was so worried the show would try to adapt one of the game stories, I’m so glad they stuck with the formula of the games where it’s a new story. It’s what makes all the games so accessible.
(Granted in the games it’s an RPG so you can ask more questions when you’re curious)
Ideally, I think you should care about the dad because he was the Overseer and, more importantly, Lucy cares about him.
Like someone else said, it doesn't matter if you played the games before because the story is not adapted from the game. The draw of fallout is the mystery and learning as you go along their adventure. It's how they tell their stories in the games too. This show is about Lucy and her journey and her dad is the motivation that pushes her to explore new experiences, it's not about us caring if dad makes it or not.
yes the power armor looks cool but i rarely use them in the games i just collect them for my power armor collection lol
People who played the games don't have any more context than you do for most of this. It's structured more or less like one of the games in that each one you start out in a new location with new characters and don't know much of anything about the different factions or their motivations. Obviously if you've played the games before you know who the factions are, but generally your character doesn't and, even if you know who the Brotherhood of Steel is or the Enclave is (the lab), for example, you don't know the particular motivations or history of the people in THIS location. Because it's a brand new location separate from any you've played in before, mostly disconnected from the other groups in other locations.
I think there was a deliberate attempt to avoid "lore dumps" and just have you learn through what happens in the show and for the most part it works eventually, although they never really tell you who the Enclave are, and people who've played the games know a lot more background detail that isn't needed for this story.

@@WillScarbroughYT Just love how universally people laugh at the gore and violence that befalls people etc, but when it comes to violence to a dog, even one that is actively attacking the person, and everyone is like....Oh not the doggie...lol. (including me). Humans are funny lol
