    She didn’t fall 33,000 feet and survive. She survived a plane crash from 33,000 feet. Every time this story is told and it’s even misled in this video’s thumbnail they make it sound like she free fell the whole way down like a skydiver without a parachute.

    • @S4RG3N7
      @S4RG3N7 4 месяца назад +11

      Have to disagree with you on this, the principle that she fell over 33,000 feet is still valid, albeit she had a plane around her instead of just falling from the sky. She was still ‘falling’ regardless of how you look at it.

      From what I remember reading, the section of the plane she was in, crashed onto a ski slope which cushion the impact. They're also happened to be a doctor present at the scene who witnessed the crash in rendered instant first aid.

      @@S4RG3N7 She did not fall from 33K ft, the aircraft did. She happened to be in it and subject to the laws of physics acting on the aircraft she was attached to. If at any time she was not attached to the aircraft, She would have been subject to her own forces until she came into contact with the aircraft again. This is an issue of physics and relative motion Your understanding of both is flawed.

    I am a huge fan of your channel and am grateful for all of your work in putting these videos together.
    Just a very small criticism, I think English might not be your first language, so for future reference, the verb “to perish” is only used when someone loses their life in a sudden or a violent way. In that this lady miraculously survived this accident, I think it is doubly inappropriate to use this word in describing her natural death many years later!

    TFC is my favorite channel for aircraft disasters mainly because of the absence of narration. However, in the first story, mention of an annoyed man was made, but in the end, there were no theories as to how a bomb was taken onboard nor if he was suspected of being involved. Other than that, we were presented with two amazing stories. I was not surprised that Vesna was left with no memory of her great fall as I was involved in a near-fatal car accident and have no memory of it. I was relieved that her paralysis was only temporary. I am sure the co-pilot will fully recover from his injuries, but worry about the damage to his right eye as no details about it were given.

    The second story reminds me of the MayDay episode about the (British?) pilot actually sucked out thru the windshield and barely help in place by the pilot and/or engineer until safely landing. He had injuries from the relentless buffeting but survived what would have otherwise been certain death. In that instance, the windshield departure was determined to be maintenance using one size too small bolts when replacing the windshield, as well as a design in which bolts were the only thing resisting cabin pressure.

    When I saw the second incident portrayed on Air Disasters last year, I thought with all he had to overcome with hypothermia and hypoxia to boot, he deserved an award, which the show never mentioned. I wonder if it was because it was a monetary one.

    There have been many rumors that the JAT airplane had been hit by mistake by the then Czechoslovakia Defense System projectile at several hundred meters height, but the communist governments of Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia agreed to blame anonymous terrorists as the cause of the fall. The rear part of the plane with Mrs Vulovic has been gliding down the snowy mountain which was lowering collision impact force to the ground.

    33000 feet. I'd rather fall outside the plane -- all that metal will be mangled and physics takes over and if the ground doesn't kill you, the mangled cage will dice you up as it stops and you are tossed into it.

    Explanation or speculation please: How did the woman in the fall survive? Perhaps the plane tumbled just right at the end where the tail fins dampened the fall ? Perhaps a bunch of seats stacked up upon impact and gave her a slightly cushioned landing? Also, How do they speculate she survived the early part of the fall, without oxygen ? Something out of pattern had to happen here.

    • @33moneyball
      @33moneyball 4 месяца назад +2

      She was fully oxygenated at the beginning of the incident and started to descend towards a sustainable level of oxygen at rapid pace….moreover you don’t pass out and die at 30K feet immediately…hypoxia is subtle at first. You can hold your breath(literally zero oxygen) for a few minutes. She was probably at 10K within 90 seconds.
