I just got the Thunderbolt. It's big, so i can only imagine how big your Thunder is. I just cut my first acrylic this weekend. I thought I would pass out from excitement from just cutting out a 1in circle. 😂I can't wait to try making a sign! It won't be as big as yours, but your video is a big help!😁
Love the videos! Before you were buying in large sheets locally, where were you purchasing your acrylic from? Have not much luck in my endeavors for affordable prices.
Best places I was able to find is custom made better .com They seem to have good pricing for what you are getting the place prior to that was CMS acrylics but they have sent closed up shop. The only Acrylic I buy local is my 4’ x 8’ sheets for large signs and that’s normally only in black, white or clear.
Great video. As a new sign maker with a small diode laser, can you tell me how you account for kerf to get such good cuts? Do you cut it as one "shape" or do you layout in lightburn but then cut separately?(like all the black pieces at once for example).
I layer it by color. Then one of the colors I’ll cut all the layers out of it so that it’s more of a puzzle. Check out some of our shorts and it will show how they go together or message us on Instagram and I can send videos
Action cameras like DJI Osmo action 4 are great cause it gives you a wider angle. Between that and the DJI mic setup you will never have to have another camera. With that being said a camera like the Sony ZV-E10 is a great camera for higher quality videos. You do not need both though to start. We have an outdoor channel that we run as well that we uses the original osmo action for 3 years without a mic and it worked great. That’s the camera I’d probably recommend over anything.

Thanks! Is the backer 1/4"? The letters 1/8"?
For that specific sign, it was 1/4 thick

Question... What camera do you use for recording?
Sony ZV-10. It’s not a bad camera but it all depends on your budget. What are you looking to use it for?
@@smalltownlasercreations thank you!!
