Finally dove deep into the game over the weekend, solo. Really enjoying the narrative elements. There are so many possible outcomes in the game that you are bound to run into many positive ones which gives you a sense of accomplishment, but then the consequential outcomes come back to bite at your progress, or visa versa depending on your experience. It's very slow to learn solo since there are soo many things to cover, many times one after the other, and there were quite a few things I was not doing correctly at first but had to keep going. Mostly it is difficult to keep track of every action solo, and the technology/resource management is a job in itself. I'm sure the app is helpful, but I enjoy pencil and paper for now, despite the constant erasing. It's easy to get mixed up or ahead of yourself and forget the order of placing your kratos tokens and escalations. But overall, the story blends really well with the action and characterisation, giving it all a very unique immersion experience.
The inward odyssey step is the argo knowledge value. The argo knowledge level can be marked in the Argo section in the app, but I also haven't found the R&R tracking in the app
A good summary of the game, thank you! I'm having to solo this and am only some hours into the first cycle. I'd be interested to learn what you think the best number of players is - my sense is that it is probably 2?
Well it all depends on your player group at the end of the day, but let us summarize it like this: 1 player, you're doing all the work and is playing for 4 agronaught that fun? We believe it might be too much of a hassle for one of us. 2 players, since one player almost always has his nose in the rulebook, the other can do admin and play on his turn with his agronaughts so you don't feel like one player has much downtime. 3 player, odd number to play with as one player has 2 agronaughts and the other 2 one. you can rotate but that doesn't feel worth the hassle. 4 players, 2 are playing the game, 2 are experiencing downtime and have their minds somewhere else. So we believe 2 players is the sweet spot!
Not forgetting, the co-op here is quite impactful with leaving tokens into Kratos pool for the next Titan to take advantage of and more. Another of my favorite highlight.
You're right, Frank hint on that, but we didn't go into deph. Aeon has so many different moving parts we did not want to touch all, to keep the video around 10 min. But its works very good. Even having Tech that alows you to fill the cratos pool abit before battle has a massive impact!
Great Review, one of the best I’ve watched
Thanks!
