Those volunteers should be acknowledge by the government because of their efforts. Hope more and more people can volunteer to clean up other areas as well. Keep our city green and clean.
i am truly thankful for the people that took initiative to clean up, not even the authorities can do a better job. All that garbage and mess, all cleaned up and made organized fruit and flower plants are just simply amazing. thank you all so much, thanks for also covering the story, it's truly good. the faith in good people is restored. Thankyou so much, hope good and better blessings to come upon these people. God bless and thank u
Malaysians will first pin point their fingers to foreign workers that dump the rubbish, in fact many of local Malaysian still littering included throw rubbish into the rivers regardless Malay, Indian or Chinese. Nak healing konon kat air terjun, sungai, pantai, hiking, sampah berlambak ditinggalkan
Mmg mereka buang sampah merata patut dipersalahkan. Kedua jgn lupa. Penguatkuasaan undang2 amat penting. Sbg cth di Sg, jika ada org hisap rokok dikawasan yg tak dibenarkan, pasti kena saman SGD200 on the spot. Bila hidup berkomuniti pasti kerajaan yg patut menguatkuasakan undang2. Sbb tu kita wajib perangi ketirisan wang negara aka rasuah. Sbg cth, pergi pantai mesti adakan tong sampah. Ada pantai takda tong sampah yg mencukupi terutama pantai yg ramai mengunjungi.
Massive respect to these people for their valiant efforts. Whilst it's also the government's responsibility to clean and maintain these places, the people themselves are what need to change. I see so many people just littering like it's nothing and it's a shame to see this sort of behavior, there needs to be some sort of punishment or fine to people who needlessly litter and pollute our streets.
Our goverment should support this initiative..DBKL and other authorities should be ashamed when public need to take action to do their ‘supposedly’ job.
Alliance of River Three says that much of the infrastructure such as the staircases and cement trails allowing for easy access to the site to do the volunteer work have been set up by the authorities
I think environmental clubs at universities and schools should also get involved. Make these sorts of areas a place to create environmental awareness. When it is done, they can be proud of the results.
And they do! Those wearing the orange T-shirts are Sunway Student Volunteers, check them out! There have been many others, so please spread the word and if you're keen on helping out, here's an email: syuen@riverthree.org
It is down to the mentality of individuals here in KK we try to make our village or kampung clean & tidy but there are individuals who don't care or uncooperative. Since rubbish bins are provided by the Local Authority & collected on time, still there are rubbish thrown from their vehicles, dump at roadside and thrown into river...it was pathetic but we try to put signboards & notices thus it is now begining to bear fruits...there is a quarterly gotong royong and i believe my kampung is now free from rubbish. Every household must keep their surrounding clean and plant flowers to beautify any open spaces...when you go jogging it was really a sight that we all yearn for a long time.
Lebih baik jangan bukak kepada awam..sbb aku tau mesti ade yg bawak makan2 rokok pastu buang. Kalo nak benarkan pon bayar 10 ringgit satu kepala lagi ok ..at least dh bayar kompaun awal2
Here in sabah it hard to do the clean up,feel bad for the workers because once they do the clearing and take care of the whole situation, within few hours rubbish will be thrown again .Too many migrants living alongside the river edge or built their stilt house and easy way for them is to discade all the waste into the river.
I once saw experiment done at India where a road if leave old and dirty will encourage littering. Once the road cleanup and repaint littering get a lot less. The mentality is if everyone throw they will throw, if it clean people will be afraid to start throw. That why government incentive to make a big operation to clean up both migrant and clean up river are needed or thing just won`t improve.
Each of those who litter in the public have this mentality "it's okay I'm the only one who doing this (littering in the park)" the problem is everyone thinking the same way. Just like when you get in stores, you put down the item you cancel to buy anywhere, not in its original location, thinking you are the only one who doing this while in reality everyone is doing it because they think they're the only one who think that way. We cannot take this lightly and think "I'm the only one who doing this, so I'm alone couldn't ruin this place". If one person think that way that would be one damage, if 100 persons think that way that would be 100x damage.
I think it opposite and more like "everyone do it, 1 more changes nothing". That why places that look clean got fewer littering while dirty places will get more and more rubbish throw. It always only take one bad apple to ruin all.
What happened to the river of life project. These people should support those who cleaned up this place. And the authorities should start implementing the law fully on all lawbreakers… this time just concentrate on those who break environmental laws. One at a time we will get there
Do you know the concept of spring gym? spring gym is use stainless steel rods or steel rods that been coated with anti rust and add rubber grip to it, as it hangs above the head, is very good for excercise as you can pull and jump at the same time at very minute hops. Very healthy excercise. Try it, they should build gyms that can regenerate electricity as well. haha.
Salute! Main problem is still the immigrants i think..they have lower standard of hygiene than us locals and the main contributor of littered rubbish in d city
At The Gardens Mall, MV, look for the old overhead pedestrian bridge that you can cross over to the Abdullah Hukum Flat, the river park is below the overhead pedestrian bridge.
Great effort by such unsung heroes but futile in the long run to say the least - still a 3rd world when it comes to mentality n with the government doing very little to help the future is muddy at best.
Permission from the Authority?? Wtf does the Authority do ? Yet we still need to seek for their permission. Malaysia authority especially the majlis bandaraya so much inefficient and corrupt.
GOOD JOB, DBKL. You all did a great job cleaning it up, making it look beautiful and maintaining it. I can't say it enough. GOOD JOB, DBKL. THANK YOU, DBKL. THIS IS WHAT OUR TAX MONEY ARE FOR.

entah! orang melayu banyak pengotor. tak ade kesedaran sivik langsung, baik muda mahupun orang tua same je!

How the volunteer got some reward for what they do
So far, their reward is knowing they've made a change in their area and community.
