First Burn is an AMAZING version of Burn. I totally understand why LMM went with the softer, more melancholy version of the song for the actual musical, but this angsty, simmering rage version is SO satisfying. “I see how you look at my sister” is a line that slaps every time
All 5 of the ladies in this video played Eliza in one touring company or another of Hamilton. "Congratulations" is a deleted number from Hamilton that was originally slated for right after The Reynolds Pamphlet; it's Angelica and Alexander. You should also try to find the deleted number where Lin raps the letter to John Adams, as well as the videos of the cast's performance at the White House, and the earlier (from before the play came out originally) performance by Lin at the White House, back when Hamilton was just a concept he and Alex were working on. React to all of them! LOL
Also the Hamilton Mixtape is a bop after the other 23 songs (I have it on Spotify I bet is on Apple Music as well) there's a lot for you to react to. Really hope you enjoy it. Oh!! And Weird Al's Hamilton Polka
I am always blown away by the fact that they found so many talented people to play Eliza. The original cast was so good but all of these women are phenomenal.
Interesting fact… Rachelle Ann Go (the actress who sings the line “I’ve seen how you look at my sister”) is also the actress who played Gigi Van Tranh (who sings “The Movie in my Mind”) in the Miss Saigon 25th Anniversary recording! 🎭
I was so nervous when I saw you getting mouse happy right before she sang "DON'T, take another step in my direction.." I was like "please pause at ANY other moment but this one and then you let it keep playing through until afterwards. That was so nice 😭🥳
I SOOOOO wish Lin-Manuel Miranda had kept this whole version in the play. When she says “I know about whispers. I see how you look at my sister.” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I have watched First Burn over a hundred times. And it just gets better every time!❤
This was the first version of Burn LMM wrote, hence them calling it First Burn. He toned it down for the musical because it fit the Eliza he wrote for the show better. You really should watch Congratulations and the full John Adams Rap.
Great review (as usual), SG! This montage of the various Eliza stars demonstrates the incredible bar that was set in order to be chosen to perform the role. These ladies have magnificent voices. I was thrilled and had to smile when you said, “we’re gonna do a little rewind”…..it sure warranted another viewing, for sure! Love your reactions and glad to learn that you’re seeking out additional “Hamilton” versions to comment on. Keep up the amazing commentary!!!
you should def check out the cut songs, like the cut rap from the adams administration, the original schuyler defeated, let it go, congratulations, and ten things one thing
I know I’m super late for this, but I hope you get around to watching both Congratulations (which is the expanded version of Angelica’s reaction to the Reynolds Pamphlet) and the Dear Theodosia reprise which gives you a little more info on why Burr said “this man will not make an orphan of my daughter” before their duel.
Muito bomm!! Acompanhei todas as reações a Hamilton. Quero deixar aqui uma sugestão fora do circuito americano: mor ve ötesi. Um pouco e rock alternativo turco. Abração
If u want to hear someone getting told off listen to the soundtrack or google the song congratulations and the adams administration that was cute. Makes that one scene make more sense.

The man on the piano is Alex Lacamoire who wrote the orchestration for Hamilton and In the Heights. He’s Lin right hand man musically.

Rachel Ann Go is from the Philippines. She is one of the best filipino singer🇵🇭.
Rachelle Ann Go has by far the best voice.
I feel like the og eliza has the best voice
I was a fan of Shoba Narayan

Wow - so much talent! LOVE this. Honestly I don't know anyone else but you who covers Rush, VoicePlay, Monty Python, and Hamilton. Well done.

These are all the Elizas from the different venues. This was shortened and changed a little to Burn.

Another “must listen” cut song is Congratulations.
Yesss!!! First Burn reaction. Love it.

First Burn is an amazing song but I think the Burn now in the song fits Eliza better.
