- I shot this on March 17, 2010 in Riverside, California at the FIRST LIVE PERFORMANCE of this new band! Fresh out of the studio, where they've been recording their first album, they performed two songs on this night. This one, "One Last Soul", is set to appear on the new album. They also played "Mistreated" which I have also posted.
The members of this super group are Glenn Hughes, Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham and Derek Sherinian. .
Enjoy!!
Best,
Libby :)
I agree, WOW!
These guys are awsome.
I think Glenn Hughes is one of the best bass player singers of all time.
Did I mention WOW!
I just recently seen Joe Bonamassa on tour in pa. and thought his performance was amazing. He can duplicate anybody's guitar playing. A master of his trade. I never thought things could ever get any better than that night. But now you put him with 3 other outstanding musicians to bring us to the edge of reality. Joe, you really know how to fine tune perfection. Thanks for bringing it to a new level!
This song poped into my mind and out my mouth as I was on my walk today.I love it..
Great job Libby. A very new face to Joe Bonamassa's music. What a killer night! What a finish. Rock ON!
Wow Libby. I saw this fly by today in a fangroup. What a memory. I remember we’d just done the road trip chasing Joe down from San Francisco and Alex T. gave me a heads up that I should not miss the Riverside show. Indeed, we made it 4 shows in a row (Helen stayed home for this one) Thanks again for this unique capture.
Got tix to see Joe in Florida in December. Would LOVE to have the rest of these guys come along as well..
Yes, I'm glad I was there to witness it too - it really felt like HISTORY unfolding. :)
@Weaponx58 - Thank you Jeff. Yes, it was wonderful, indeed. I feel very fortunate to have been there to see it and shoot it! :))
Nice to meet you Wednesday night at the show Libby...Great show and I love this song!!!
great to hear a solid rock song from these guys:)had some fear that it would turn out to be blues,funk or fusion stuff but it didnt.Jason rocks as always,what a drum sound!!!
@universe54 - You've got that right! I've had the pleasure of previewing the album and, I can promise you, you shall NOT be disappointed. It's incredible. It was my great pleasure to shoot and share this video! Thank you. :))
My band mates! Can't wait to hear the finished CD guys! Brilliant! :)
Nice to meet you too Steve. I agree, wholeheartedly. I had a BLAST!!
@libbysvideos if you take one of the best voices in rock, THE best drummer in rock and one of the best guitarists in the world this is what you get. What a great vid - thanks for the posting and can't wait for the album
Another great job Libby! Wish I could have been there.
Earl
I can't stop listening nor watching this!!! Thank you so very much for this inside look at - well - some dear OLD friends, lol. Survivors & a recent fave in past decade - Joe B. THIS is amazing!! Excellent quality. This is pure GOOSE bump stuff & I have seen/heard MANY. Am totally lit UP! xxo! Twitter @JillSavage1
I was listening to the "BoneYard" on XM radio today, had the pleasure of using my friends XM and this song came on. I'm diggn it! I hope to buy the CD soon
HOLY CRAP!!!! I'll pay you cash for this posting Libby , THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! ;))
@StephenLomax - I cannot begin to tell you how much fun it was being there TO get it!! Please don't miss "Mistreated" from this same night, and also my videos of "Mistreated" and "Medusa" from House of Blues Sunset Strip in the fall - the first time Joe and Glenn performed together..... both were VERY magical nights. Thank you for your kind and positive comments!
Hey Libby,
I got my copy of the cd a week before the release through Joe's website and haven't stopped jamming it since. Since April, I had Slash in my player nonstop, but now BCC has it. They sound to me like a Zeppelin- Deep Purple hybrid. Joe is copping Jimmy Page like crazy and I love it. He's doing a better Jimmy than Jimmy does anymore!!! I'm so glad I caught all those shows at the little clubs over the past five years, cuz them days is over. See ya in San Diego February 18th.
Great work!
Awesome Libby, can't wait for album to arrive :)
I love this song! Really catchy tune with a lot of energy! If I didn't know Glenn Hughes I'd swear I would have thought he was in his 30's by the way he moves around on stage lol.
Awesome......praying they do a pre tour gig in NYC like rumor has it!!!!
@BryJovi17 - Hopefully the album will be released in September. I have been a huge fan of Joe's for years, and am really excited to see this collaboration. Jason is fantastic and Glenn is..... well, Glenn has really shaken me to my core. Thank you for the kind, uplifting post. Go to a Joe show when you can, and, if I might recommend another group for you, please try to see Virgil and the Accelerators - a young, incredible blues trio - they are friends of mine, and superbly talented.
my new favorite band. 1 and 2 are both great.
Absolute pleasure...
Great album, got it yesterday!
Yes Earl - I wish you could have been there too. Did you see that our Philip has a new L.A. date? :)
@libbysvideos Oh, the others are equally amazing. Am tearing up to see Jason doing SO well. Knew about Caveman's work w/ Joe + Jason & 1 other from Indy 'band' Healing Sixes. Radio isn't what it used to be - so - this medium is IDEAL to get the word out. Tweeted this vid & chatted a bit w/ Glenn. When we're blessed enough to be in the orbit of these great souls - then - we carry on w/ the "Message". Great to make your acquaintance!!
@Jupitersgoose - We aim to please. Thank you so much for the kind words. I want to be sure you know I have three other related videos.... they sang 'Mistreated' on this night too - and then in November, Joe, Glenn and Bogie Bowles did Mistreated and Medusa. Just search my channel - I think you'll like them. I'm SO happy to have made your day. YAY!!
Seen him once, he's really good. Amazing in fact.
:) Glad you enjoyed it Graeme.
@cchaneysr - thank you. it means a lot. :)
@libbysvideos
Indeed! It was simply - amazing.
hey libby. nice vid! do u happen to kno if these guys have released their first album as band 'black country' yet? (i guess they havent as ur vid says they havent even finalised the band name yet!) ive recently got into joe bonamassa and being from the black country myself (i live in dudley, where jason bonham was born) i am very proud to hear about two local boys forming this supergroup and wud definitely buy their album on release day! :D
great works , bonamassa rules ............
j'attends maintenant le 1er CD avec impatience..
LOL. That has to be one of my favorite all-time comments..... thank YOU. I accept all major credit cards too. ;-) You're welcome - it really is my pleasure. :) Don't miss the second song they performed, "Mistreated"...... so great!!
J'attends le CD avec impatience
@fandango234 - I know.... I'm so proud of Joe. I was supposed to be there. I'm glad you could be - or, so I presume, from your note.
YESSS !WOW! BEST OF REAL BANDS LIKE ZEPP AND PURPLE PLUS NEW ROCK AND ROLL BLOOD, THIS IS VERY GOOD.
@cj13494 - Yes, it is. :)
@MsNancyGray - I concur. :)
@rollinglotusY2K9 - Sometimes, the comments I receive on my videos drip with such excitement and enthusiasm, that it brings the whole LIVE experience back to me AGAIN!! Thank you for doing that. Truly, your words are much appreciated. It was an incredible night, and one that I had anticipated for MONTHS. I want to make sure that you see 'Mistreated' that I also shot that night, as well as 'Medusa' and 'Mistreated' that I shot with GH and JB in November... check my vids. I'm lit up too, btw!
It sounds great! It's curious but the lick that Bonamassa plays at about 4:00 sounds exactly Richie Kotzen's style...
@BryJovi17 Just announced Thursday... Sept 20 for Europe, Sept 21 for U.S.!
OOOOH DADDY LIKE!!!!
@Pinsel1960 - Indeed. :)
@libbysvideos
He smoked it in Chicago Saturday!
Where in Riverside did they play?
Wow indeed. This is the best of the new S---r G---ps.Easily. I'm all ears.
@rollinglotusY2K9 - I'm pleased to make your acquaintance as well. So nice of you to tweet my video! I'm not on Twitter, but am on Facebook. I'll send you a message so that you can find me there, if you'd like. I've been a serious fan of Joe's for several years and love EVERYTHING that he touches..... past, current, future. I trust Joe - and this latest facet has proven that my trust is well placed, indeed. I cannot express adequately how INTENSELY moved I have been by this. :))))))
chucha!!! tremendo temazo wn
@Tecumseh1812 - Excuse me?
bonamassa should be vocals
Q: What do Allan Holdsworth, Brett Garsed, Frank Gambale and Tony MacAlpine have in common? A: They are all among the finest guitarists on Earth...and they all look "uncool". Guess what? I'd much rather watch/hear THEM make music than some manufactured pop group, or some Nickelback-alike meathead rock band.
These guys are seasoned PROS making QUALITY rock n' roll music. I don't think they're trying to take over the world with gimmicks. Lady Gaga's already done that.
@kukovich86 Hahahahha joke of the year.....
Hahahahahahaha,,,,ahhhahahahahahahahaha,,,,bwahahahahahaha! 2121=Dolt
I've seen Joe Bonamassa live playing the Blues. My opinion is that he should stick to the Blues. I'm not at all impressed with "Black Country". That is only my opinion!
bummer! It ' is some kind arbitrary to me. The defect of many "supergroups"
hmmm no hype for instance. seems another chickenfoot thing to me.
feels a little whatever... :/
Bonamassa might be very talented, but he is one of the uncoolest looking guitarists I've ever seen. That's what'll keep this band from taking the world by storm, coupled with the lack of a more charismatic vocalist and questionable songwriting skills. They have worlds of musical ability, mediocre stage presence, and virtually zero visual appeal. They've really gotta make the songs count if they're gonna be big.
2 people need to burst they're ear drums as they don't deserve to hear if they dislike this
